“We absolutely loved Madie! She was incredibly responsive, flexible, and helpful, and our Doris was so well taken care of. She had the best time! You can immediately tell Madie is a true dog lover, which made us feel completely at ease. We would definitely recommend her. Thank you, Madie, for taking such great care of our girl! ❤️”

“Shawn did such a great job with our Bo and made the most out of the 30 minutes with him! He was an excellent communicator and left us a great recap of their time together. I really appreciated the detail and care!”

“We always have a great experience with Tara as our dog walker! She takes amazing care of our two dogs, and it is clear they love their time with her. Tara is reliable, punctual, and always makes sure our dogs got plenty of exercise and attention on each walk. She also keeps us updated with pictures and messages. Our dogs are always happy and tired out after their walks with her. We highly recommend Tara to anyone looking for a caring, responsible dog walker. Thank you, Tara!”

“Amandine took great care of our little Shih Tzu boy! We were having an unusually late night in the city for New Year’s Eve, and Badger is happiest at home so I didn’t want to board him somewhere overnight if I didn’t have to. Amandine was able to come twice that evening for his dinner and a couple outings. He got up to all his usual silliness on her visits, and was happy as a clam when we got home. Badger was comfortable with her right away and my husband and I were able to enjoy our Brooklyn NYE (Robyn at The Paramount, which was worth the very late night!) knowing he was taken care of and would be waiting for us when we got home. Amandine is very friendly and professional, and more than qualified to be a wonderful petsitter. We highly recommend her services!”

“Christie is amazing with Rebel! He gets so excited when I tell him he gets to play with Christie! Love her detailed reports and the pictures! I feel very at ease knowing he's in good hands with Christie”

“Kerry is a gem!! My senior dog needs lots of TLC and patience (he's lost most of his vision and hearing, has trouble with stairs and occasionally gets confused), so I was nervous about bringing in someone to walk him. Kerry immediately put my fears to rest -- asked all the right questions, was wonderful with my dog, and communicated well and often during the visit. I won't hesitate to have him visit again and am relieved I found him.”

“Carol is great with our lil Shih Tzu Badger! She responds to messages promptly, she’s punctual, and we can rely on her to manage our leash-reactive man. We highly recommend her services!”

“We had a great experience with Consuelo during our 3 day vacation! She arrived at 6:30am on the dot each morning, our agreed upon time. She took our dog Buster for a 30 minute walk, and took photos along the way. Buster barks and pulls a lot, and she handled him very well! She gave a detailed report of the walk each day. After only 3 days, I have a great deal of confidence in Consuelo's reliability and her interaction with Buster. We will definitely ask her to help us again!”

“Valentina was right on time as promised, and she kindly helped out with all requests I had. She also updated me throughout Louie’s walk. I would trust her for more walks in the future!”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for close to 10 years. From neighbors dogs to feral cat colonies, all the way to exotic pets like bearded dragons, I’ve seen it all. I have an old dog myself (he’s 17!) so I am well versed in the gentle, kind approach that all animals benefit from. I am currently returning to work (I work in an elementary school) in September, so I have all the availability to drop-in and give your pets the time and attention they deserve! I am always aware of the pet’s current mood displayed through body posture and noise. I am the stranger in their house, so I make sure I’m always presenting in the calmest, least threatening way!
“My Rover sitter, Sarah was fantastic! She provided excellent care for my dog, Harleigh and she was very accommodating. Sarah sent updates and photos of my dog during her time with Harleigh, ensuring I knew how my pet was doing." Sarah communicated everything thing I needed to know and I absolutely recommend her 1000%”

“Thurane is a fantastic dog companion. It is clear that he cares about our dog and it's very clear she looks forward to seeing him. He is prompt, communicates timely and clearly, and is very reliable. I highly recommend him.”

“Leigh was great. I was able to be there at the start of the walk, and Leigh asked great questions about what commands my dog knew and what my walk preferences were. She was patient with my dog (who is a puppy) and since they stayed on my property at my request, I was able to watch Leigh play with my puppy outside. Leigh did a great job, and I have asked her to walk my dog on a more regular basis as a result.”

I've had a great experience with Jennifer, - She is on time, dependable, and clearly care about my dog. I appreciate the updates and communication. It's reassuring to know I can count on her when I need help. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and responsible dog walker

My Rover sitter, Sarah was fantastic! She provided excellent care for my dog, Harleigh and she was very accommodating. Stacie has been walking our nervous boxer for several weeks now, and she’s been great! Our pup has a history of anxiety, especially around cars, and she gently works with him to be comfortable walking further distances. She is super communicative and gives such sweet and detailed reports of how he’s doing. We’re grateful to have her working with our boy.

Leigh is amazing!!! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone. She took immaculate care of my dog, and I could tell he was loved, safe, and happy the entire time. She went above and beyond—sending me updates, being super responsive, and treating him like her own. I had complete peace of mind while I was at work, and I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

I’m a new dog parent, my puppy is 7 months old, and I was so nervous to book a walker for the first time! Payal came recommended from a friend and she is AMAZING! She put me completely at ease and went above and beyond for my Bruce. I left her so many instructions and she did everything with ease. He is also not the easiest dog to wrangle (70 lbs at 7 months) and she had no problem. There is a dog park at our building I asked her to bring him to and when she saw that there were unsafe things on the ground like objects he could swallow and other dog’s poop, she decided not to have him play in there and did other activities instead, then bringing him inside when he was getting hot. She truly cared for him the way my husband or I would and we cannot thank her enough! We will book with Payal many more times!

Rachel was great with Buffy! She was very communicative with me, sent me updates and photos of Buffy, and was a big help! Buffy really loved her walks with Rachel. Lastly, Rachel was really flexible with my schedule changes. I would highly recommend her to anyone and will be using her in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
