Shawn is easily the best walker I’ve gotten through Rover or the other dog walking apps. He arrives on time, responsive to messages, and leaves thorough reports after each walk. He even spends time working on training goals during the walks!

Amandine took great care of our little Shih Tzu boy! We were having an unusually late night in the city for New Year’s Eve, and Badger is happiest at home so I didn’t want to board him somewhere overnight if I didn’t have to. Amandine was able to come twice that evening for his dinner and a couple outings. He got up to all his usual silliness on her visits, and was happy as a clam when we got home. Badger was comfortable with her right away and my husband and I were able to enjoy our Brooklyn NYE (Robyn at The Paramount, which was worth the very late night!) knowing he was taken care of and would be waiting for us when we got home. Amandine is very friendly and professional, and more than qualified to be a wonderful petsitter. We highly recommend her services!

Kerry is a gem!! My senior dog needs lots of TLC and patience (he's lost most of his vision and hearing, has trouble with stairs and occasionally gets confused), so I was nervous about bringing in someone to walk him. Kerry immediately put my fears to rest -- asked all the right questions, was wonderful with my dog, and communicated well and often during the visit. I won't hesitate to have him visit again and am relieved I found him.

We had a great experience with Consuelo during our 3 day vacation! She arrived at 6:30am on the dot each morning, our agreed upon time. She took our dog Buster for a 30 minute walk, and took photos along the way. Buster barks and pulls a lot, and she handled him very well! She gave a detailed report of the walk each day. After only 3 days, I have a great deal of confidence in Consuelo's reliability and her interaction with Buster. We will definitely ask her to help us again!

Leigh was great. I was able to be there at the start of the walk, and Leigh asked great questions about what commands my dog knew and what my walk preferences were. She was patient with my dog (who is a puppy) and since they stayed on my property at my request, I was able to watch Leigh play with my puppy outside. Leigh did a great job, and I have asked her to walk my dog on a more regular basis as a result.

About: With over 14 years of full-time experience caring for animals, pet care is more than just my profession it is a lifelong passion. While the majority of my experience has been with dogs, I have also gained extensive experience caring for cats and birds in their homes. I am a Certified Veterinary Assistant with hands on veterinary experience and a strong understanding of animal health and wellness. I am comfortable administering oral, topical, and injectable medications, monitoring pets during recovery, and providing post-surgical care when needed. I am also very familiar with the veterinary clinics in the area and have experience transporting pets to appointments, assisting with checkups, and helping owners follow veterinary recommendations. What sets me apart is the level of attention and care I provide. I build close, trusting relationships with the pets I care for and take the time to learn their individual personalities, routines, dietary needs, and preferences. I have a strong interest in animal nutrition and understand the importance of maintaining consistency in a pet’s daily routine to support their overall well being. In addition to pet sitting and dog walking, I have several years of grooming experience. My building includes a dedicated pet grooming facility, allowing me to conveniently offer grooming services while pets are in my care. I am a dependable, knowledgeable, and compassionate caregiver with many long-term client relationships national and international. References from local families are available upon request, and I take great pride in the trust that both pets and their owners place in me. I would be happy to assist with all of your pet care needs, including pet sitting, dog walking, medication administration, recovery care, transportation to veterinary appointments, grooming, and personalized daily care.

About: I understand that every dog (and cat) is different and I'd love to develop a relationship to keep your pet comfortable and active! I would update regularly, personalize the care I'm giving, and offer different exercises based on activity levels! I have an extremely flexible schedule and would enjoy working with any pet! I would like to add that I'm almost always free in the morning, but my afternoon schedule varies. I'm always near my phone and respond quickly; I also have my own car, so all I need is information on who it is I'm going to see and where! I would make sure to follow instructions on how to best care for your pet; you know them best. I would respect your environment and treat it like it's my own.

About: I treat every dog like they’re my own—with love, patience, and lots of belly rubs. I’ve worked with all kinds of pups, from bouncy little puppies learning the ropes to sweet senior dogs who need a slower pace and extra TLC. I’m great with routines, giving meds if needed, and making sure your dog feels comfortable and cared for while you’re away. Caring for pets is a natural part of my daily life—I genuinely enjoy it! Whether I’m starting my morning with a walk or winding down with a cuddle session, spending time with dogs brings me joy and keeps me grounded. I make sure to plan my days around their needs, whether it’s feeding schedules, potty breaks, playtime, or just being a calming presence. I’m flexible, reliable, and fully committed to giving your pup the attention they deserve every single day. When I’m in your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. I stick closely to your pet’s usual routine so they feel safe and comfortable—whether that’s meal times, walks, play, or quiet time. I make sure they get plenty of love, attention, and whatever else they need to feel at ease while you’re away.

About: I have been an animal lover all of my life. l've always had cats growing up and I got my first dog as a young adult. I have previously worked in a Veterinary office, from there I started cat care/sitting and now have over 20 years' experience. More recently I started dog sitting for small dogs in my home as well as home visits, feeding & walking. I have a small dog, she is my 2nd Papillion named Indi. She is very friendly to other dogs and loves to share her toys and space. We would love to welcome your small pup into our home - it could be a match made in heaven! I work remotely from home. I take breaks during my work day to go on walks several times a day. On weekends, we can take a ride to the park & or I walk to my friend's house who has 2 dogs and they all play together, in her fenced in yard, that is with your permission. lol. Your dog will always be supervised, and I have a friendly dog to keep them company & play with. Meals are given separately. Please let me know meal instructions on their specific needs. I have space for their bed, crate & toys. At night if they have a bed or if they are crated. My place is doggie proof, and fun environment for you fur babe.

I’m a new dog parent, my puppy is 7 months old, and I was so nervous to book a walker for the first time! Payal came recommended from a friend and she is AMAZING! She put me completely at ease and went above and beyond for my Bruce. I left her so many instructions and she did everything with ease. He is also not the easiest dog to wrangle (70 lbs at 7 months) and she had no problem. There is a dog park at our building I asked her to bring him to and when she saw that there were unsafe things on the ground like objects he could swallow and other dog’s poop, she decided not to have him play in there and did other activities instead, then bringing him inside when he was getting hot. She truly cared for him the way my husband or I would and we cannot thank her enough! We will book with Payal many more times!

  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
