“Amandine has a great sense for animals and their behavior. She was very patient with my stand-offish kitty and with my approach to introducing new folks to my cat. A true Gem! Highly Recommend!”

“So grateful for Leigh. She took excellent care of my senior cat for over a week. Mid-trip, my cat started refusing his medicine. Leigh was confident and able to administer his medication regardless (via oral pill, something I myself I have never had success doing - I usually get him to lick it off a spoon covered in churu). She even stayed past her contracted time to make sure that he would receive his medication. Leigh truly cares for cats. She had a very comforting effect on my Pablo, I could see from photos he looked content and relaxed. Thank you, Leigh!!”

“Great experience with Ruth for my pet rabbit, Brownie. She was very patient, responsive, and kept me updated with great communication and adorable photos—Brownie looked so happy and well cared for! The place was super neat and clean. Ruth also helped keep an eye on the room temperature during the heat wave, which gave me extra comfort while traveling. I really appreciated her care and attention to detail. Highly recommend❤️”

“Well, today is Shawn’s last day with; I don’t know who is going to miss him more… me or Max! It was such a relief to know that Max was being well cared for while I worked late these past few weeks. Shawn is amazing and a truly conscientious individual. I know Max appreciated having him care for him. I am going on vacation in June and will have Shawn care for Max if he is available on my date. Thank you Shawn, for being the wonderful man you are! See you soon! Max and Diane”

“Tara’s the best! Always takes great care of our fur babies. We had a family emergency and needed our pets taken care of. She helped us out last minute. She’s always reliable. Thanks Tara!”

“Michael and Alyssa were great with my dogs, Tokyo and Milan. They followed everything exactly how I asked, which I really appreciated. It made me feel a lot more comfortable knowing my dogs were in good hands. Tokyo and Milan were well taken care of, stayed on their normal routine, and seemed really happy. I also liked getting updates while I was away , it helped me relax knowing everything was going smoothly. I’d definitely trust Michael and Alyssa again and would recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and attentive dog sitters.”

“Christie is the best! From the moment we met, I knew my kitty would be in the best of hands with her. Christie went above and beyond taking care of my cat, providing detailed updates and pictures, and even took care of house things that came up while we were away. Highly recommend!”

“Rachael was prompt in responding, helpful during the booking process, reliable and communicative during visits! Really appreciate the time and effort, will definitely be reaching out again for future cat sitting needs!”

“Becky did an awesome job taking care of my 2 cats and parrot. She was attentive and flexible throughout the entire visit. My pets were happy and well taken care of! I do recommend using her and plan on having her pet sit for me again in the future!”

“We’re so grateful to Claudia for taking such great care of Luna and Beanie while we were away! She did an amazing job not only spending time with them but also keeping everything clean and tidy. One of the cats had an accident outside the litter box, which I was a bit worried about, but Claudia took care of it right away and reassured us that everything was fine. It really gave us peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. Thank you, Claudia, for treating our cats and our home with such care!”

“Lori did such a great job dropping in on my cat while I was away. Quick to respond and always kept me updated. I will definitely be using her services again in the future!”

“Huidan, is very professional. She communicatea well, came on time and try to comfort my dog as much as she could given it was first time my dog met her. She fed him refreshed his water and played. I would use her again. Thank you for your work!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for as long as I can remember, both for friends and family and part-time at a local boarding facility. This experience has exposed me to a wide variety of dogs, from puppies to seniors and all sizes in between. I’ve even fostered 21+ dogs! I’m comfortable with all breeds and sizes of friendly dogs, have experience training basic obedience, especially with puppies, and have crates available in various sizes. If you’re interested in basic obedience training for your puppy, shoot me a text! I offer training independently (off Rover). Let’s set your pup on the right path for success.🐾 I am currently working as a groomer part-time in Rye, NY, on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays throughout the day. *Rye Area: I am available for dog walking and drop-in visit's around the afternoon. I am often available on weekends with a few days notice. Just reach out to discuss arrangements. I have multiple crates if needed to provide a safe and comfortable resting spot. With clean bowls, leashes, and toys tailored every pup's personality, I create a space where dogs stay safe and entertained. Additionally, if I ever need to step out, I have cameras in place to monitor the pups while I am away.

“This was our first time using Rover, and Danae was exceptional! She kept us updated with our cats, and she was flexible when we had to make adjustments to our care plan. Highly recommend!!”

“Carol played with my puppy for an hour and it was really cold outside. I offered to let her take a warmup inside but she chose to keep going since they were staying warm being active. My puppy enjoyed the playtime and had a good nap afterwards!”

“Valerie was great! She came for a meet and greet as this was my first time using Rover. I felt way more comfortable than boarding her. Will definitely use Valerie again!”

Christie is simply the best! My kitty had an eye problem while I was away and Christie expertly troubleshooted it with such care and compassion. She truly loves animals and is very knowledgable. We are so fortunate to be in touch with her - we’ve used other sitters when Christie is not available but there is no comparison. 100% recommend!

Ruth has been a trusted carer for my pet rabbit Brownie! We felt at ease when traveling and knowing Ruth will take good care of her. She is very communicative, attention to detail, and always goes the extra mile to make sure Brownie is comfortable and well cared for. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful pet sitter!

This was Jason's first drop-in visit with our two Great Pyrenees dogs and our Maine Coon cat. The boys met Jason at his meet-and-greet visit about a week in advance and the boys loved him from the moment he walked through the door. He's very comfortable with our big boys (115 pounds and 140 pounds!). Jason, overall, is fantastic-- professional, thoughtful, conscientious, and just a great guy. He followed all of our instructions to the last detail. We already have more days booked with him. It's such an enormous relief to find him so the boys can stay home together rather than staying at the kennel while we go out of town. Highly recommend him!

Euree is an awesome sitter! Quick communication and everything went smoothly including the initial greet and meet. Even though my cat is super shy and immediately goes into hiding upon seeing strangers, Euree always made an effort to find him and include a photo to let me know Mocha is doing well. Will book again in the future :)

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rye. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
