About: I got my first pet at the age of 5. I’ve raised dogs, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and bearded dragons. I have done basic training with not only my dogs but friends and neighbors as well. I have rescued a few dogs from the streets and rehomed them. I used to do pet boarding for friends and associates. I used to volunteer at an animal clinic where I took care of cats and dogs that were up for adoption for 4 years. I’ve also done horse back riding where I groomed and rode both when I was younger and more recently as an adult. I used to do dog walking where I worked with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I had my first dog for 15 years, towards the end of his time here, I had to administer medication and assist with mobility. I currently have a full time job with a schedule that changes every week. I know my schedule anywhere between a week to a month in advance so I can properly plan for pet care. I also have an active household where your pet will not be left unattended for no more than 2-4 hours of the day. Also depending on when I’m notified I can arrange my days off to have at least 4 days in a row off to provide 24hr service. In my own home they have free rein to roam. I have a bunch of treats so I usually ask if there are dietary restrictions, and I have a park nearby where I take my dogs for exercise, or on a lighter day let them out in the backyard. If I am working in a clients home it depends on what rules they have set. I usually speak to the parent in advance to find out if a towel is available for messy days, if I can give rewards, or even offer playtime inside the home, and much more. I cater to each client differently depending on what the pet needs are.
About: I’ve cared for cats and dogs my entire life, providing feeding, playtime, and companionship. Friends and family trust me to care for their pets while they travel. Growing up in a village, I developed a natural bond with animals. I also received training on large dog breeds during my studies. I have a flexible schedule since I work from home and run my own business. I attend school two days a week and work part-time, but I can adjust my availability to fit your pet’s needs. Just reach out, and we can find a suitable arrangement! I provide a safe, pet-friendly environment in my apartment, ensuring comfort and care for your pet. I offer home sitting and daycare, giving them plenty of attention, playtime, and a stress-free experience. While I don’t stay at clients’ homes, I prioritize safety and trust, keeping your pet happy and well-cared for in my home.
“Ketevan was absolutely amazing! She took great care of my pup, was very understanding of my preferences and really went above and beyond with her service. She also sent updates and responded to my messages promptly. I truly appreciate a sitter like her while I am away from my baby. Would definitely pick her again.”

“Katie was wonderful with my dog, Wednesday! She arrived right on time, kept me updated throughout the walk, and let me know about anything she encountered along the way. I really appreciated the photos she sent, which gave me peace of mind and showed that Wednesday was happy and well cared for. Katie was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about providing great service. I was extremely happy with the care she provided and will definitely be booking her again. Highly recommend!”

About: Hey! When it comes to loving animals and letting them chill, I’m your person. I’ve taken care of my neighbor, coworker, family and friends’ pets! I love them all and they’ll love my apartment. I cannot wait to take care of yours. I’m a professional writer working from home so I’m in my apt during the day and can spend time looking after your pet and giving them attention if they wish! I have the bay right across the street from my home so if you’re in the area we might go on a walk around there! If the weather permits, we might even take a stroll to Manhattan Beach! I have a one bedroom apartment with an outdoor balcony and a high fence around it. There is lots of space indoors and out and no other pets live with me.
“I truly appreciate Yahnzy’s professionalism and communication during her care with my pup. I always know he’ll receive the best attention with Yahnzy and she lets me know all the details every step of the way!”

About: I’m a born-again pet person and love spending time with cats and dogs. Over the past five years, I’ve had the joy of fostering cats, providing them with a loving and caring environment while they await their forever homes. I look forward to meeting your furry companions and providing them with the care, attention, and love they deserve while you’re away! I am currently on a career break and have a lot of flexible time to dedicate to house sitting, drop-in visits, and walking your pet. When caring for pets in my client's home, I follow all instructions to a tee and pay careful attention to the changing needs of the animal. I am communicative and responsive should any issues arise.
“Alana is great. She came to get my key and meet Suki to see her routing with fairly short notice when a work trip came up. She’s so loving with my animals and took care to follow all my directions, including giving Suki some of her arthritis meds. So happy we met!”
“As a first time user of rover I was a little worried at first not knowing what to expect from the service. However, Brittany blew away all of my expectations! She did an outstanding job walking my dog while I was out of town for a funeral and quite last minute as well! I cannot say enough about how great the experience was. I highly recommend her and she will be my go-to from now on!!!”

“It’s been amazing experience with Shannakae as a first time user of Rover. She is very caring and patient with our Cane Corso. You can tell that she really enjoys what she does. She is very genuine and easy to talk to. Great with communication! Wow! We love that she looks out for our dog’s best interest by giving us any recommendations that make him feel more comfortable and safe. Our dogs fell in love with her right away. She takes care of Hachi as her own :) At first, I was a bit worried because we’ve never hired a dog walker through the app, but Shannakae gives us piece of mind. I would recommend hiring her anytime, hands down! We are extremely pleased and thankful for how well she takes care of Hachi. Your pet will be in good hands! She is very reliable, quick responsive and extremely friendly. Hachi adores her! We look forward to continuing working with you! :)”

About: As soon as I moved out my Mothers house (my mom was allegedly allergic to all animals) the first thing I got before getting my first couch was a cat. I’ve always been a cat lover, they bring me so much joy and peace and would love to be able to take care of your little ones when you need someone to make sure they’re being looked after. I currently have a 1 year old named Yumi 🐈⬛ and a 1 month old kitten named Rami 🖤 🐈 They’re both super sweet. Yumi is usually very closed off in the beginning which is why I separate the cats initially and then slowly initiate an introduction with your fur babies to create a more peaceful atmosphere for everybody. I’ll be working part time. So I am free virtually all weekend. Plus late afternoon/evenings on weekdays! But I’m flexible, just reach out and let me know we can work something out. I live in a nice sized one bedroom apartment where there’s enough room for everyone to play. I have an elevator in my building so it’s very accessible for everybody.
About: I've quantitatively proven that dog is Mans' best friend. My pet sitting experiences have taught me how to care for senior dogs with illnesses, how to care for untrained dogs, as well as how to take care of the coats of double coated dogs(Siberian Huskies). I'm currently working part time from home, with flexible hours, which gives me the opportunity to take care of your loved ones! I'm currently staying in a suburban/residential area which provides quiet sidewalks and parks for enrichment. And for those pooches who love a good walk and the great outdoors, there are beaches and nature trails only 30 minutes away, where I'd be happy to take them, on leash of course! Flexible schedule makes me available to board and care for the dogs of your family whenever. I am located in a suburban area of Brooklyn, with options for on leash trail and beach walks for pooches that walk for multiple hours. I have a fenced yard with a auto closer. Also have a smart collar, which your dog could borrow for walks, to add an extra degree of security.
“Kadeisha is a lifesaver! We needed help last minute with our babies and usually have them in boarding, but never again - Kadeisha is our go-to from now on. She not only braved extreme cold weather without complaint, but our dogs loved her immediately. Our dogs are skittish of humans because of their past, but they felt comfortable with her right away. AND the pictures she takes are another level - our dogs look like models! 🤣 We can't wait to use her for boarding and daycare going forward.”

About: I have worked in a doggy daycare, I have grown up around big dogs, had multiple dogs in my life, and have been dog sitting consistently for over three years. I have watched all types of dogs, cats, birds, and kids! I love all animals and have a puppy myself! I am a student, but other than school, I have a lot of free time. My schedule is very flexible I’m sure we can work something out! I live with my girlfriend and our dog, so your pet would have our full attention. I take my dogs on walks everyday, and am very athletic if your pet likes to run. I also have worked with dogs of all ailments, from blind or deaf, to old and unable to walk. Whatever you’re looking for, I can provide
“Erika G has become part of my pups extended family! She is very committed to the dogs and treats them so beautifully! I never worry when she is there in my place! You will not be disappointed with her in your pups life.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
