About: I’m a born-again pet person and love spending time with cats and dogs. Over the past five years, I’ve had the joy of fostering cats, providing them with a loving and caring environment while they await their forever homes. I look forward to meeting your furry companions and providing them with the care, attention, and love they deserve while you’re away! I am currently on a career break and have a lot of flexible time to dedicate to house sitting, drop-in visits, and walking your pet. When caring for pets in my client's home, I follow all instructions to a tee and pay careful attention to the changing needs of the animal. I am communicative and responsive should any issues arise.

About: I’ve been a pet owner for some time and have had a Husky previously. I’m familiar with how to handle high energy breeds, big dogs and medium sized. I’m a full time dog walker available during the week and also enjoy walking dogs in the evenings and weekends. I have had my own dogs in the past and understand the importance of regular exercise. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment that is very spacious and accommodating. I have lots of dog toys and treats. Whether I’m watching a dog at my house or yours I understand that mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise.
“Jessie is excellent. She's extremely good at communicating, leaving detailed notes, taking lots of photos, letting me know about issues that came up, following the notes I left, and being flexible about making small changes. It gave me so much peace of mind while I was away for two weeks. Highly recommend!”

About: I got my first pet at the age of 5. I’ve raised dogs, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and bearded dragons. I have done basic training with not only my dogs but friends and neighbors as well. I have rescued a few dogs from the streets and rehomed them. I used to do pet boarding for friends and associates. I used to volunteer at an animal clinic where I took care of cats and dogs that were up for adoption for 4 years. I’ve also done horse back riding where I groomed and rode both when I was younger and more recently as an adult. I used to do dog walking where I worked with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I had my first dog for 15 years, towards the end of his time here, I had to administer medication and assist with mobility. I currently have a full time job with a schedule that changes every week. I know my schedule anywhere between a week to a month in advance so I can properly plan for pet care. I also have an active household where your pet will not be left unattended for no more than 2-4 hours of the day. Also depending on when I’m notified I can arrange my days off to have at least 4 days in a row off to provide 24hr service. In my own home they have free rein to roam. I have a bunch of treats so I usually ask if there are dietary restrictions, and I have a park nearby where I take my dogs for exercise, or on a lighter day let them out in the backyard. If I am working in a clients home it depends on what rules they have set. I usually speak to the parent in advance to find out if a towel is available for messy days, if I can give rewards, or even offer playtime inside the home, and much more. I cater to each client differently depending on what the pet needs are.
“Stephanie and Brian were great!! Due to cancellations I had to book them Super last minute and they were more than happy to come see Roy. They played with him and took the time to make sure he was happy and cared for. Thank you both again!!!!”

“Keti was wonderful with my cat, I’ve never seen him so friendly with a stranger. He was the happiest I’ve ever seen him after coming back from a trip. She did a great job taking care of him and we couldn’t be happier.”

About: Home-style dog boarding and daycare in The Rockaways with 13 years of experience, 500+ Rover reviews, and more than 200 repeat clients. My husband and I are home full-time, so dogs receive consistent supervision, attention, outdoor time, and plenty of opportunities to relax between play sessions. We have a fenced yard and provide a cage-free home environment unless a crate is specifically requested or appropriate for an individual dog. We have extensive experience caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and energy levels, including senior dogs and pets requiring oral or injected medications. Owners receive frequent photo and video updates throughout every stay. We specialize in social dogs that enjoy being part of a carefully managed group. All new clients complete a meet & greet before their first boarding or daycare stay so we can make sure everyone is comfortable and compatible. Pickup and drop-off may be available depending on location, and we are available for many holidays. Both I and my husband work from home and are able to provide expert care for your pets. We do not leave the dogs alone, aside from a couple of hours when we need to go to costco once a month. Yes, we are hermits! :) I have two dogs and two cats. All are friendly and socialized with dogs. A small fenced up yard and a cage free environment. Last potty call is midnight and first potty is at 8am right before feeding time. Feeding is at 8-9am and 7-8pm.
“I’m so so happy I found Brittany! Cooper took to her so fast which is very rare for him, he usually takes a while to warm up to a new person but not with Brittany he went right to her! Gem also loved her to! She was so good with them and sent pictures and videos when she went to check on them which gave me so much piece of mind while I was away. Brittany is definitely a keeper!!”

“Tracy took care of my rabbits when my family was having an emergeny and I couldnt have asked for someone more perfect for the job to look after them while we were away even without meeting us last minute. She had no problems with getting access to our home and kept in touch througout the whole visit reassuring me and my gf that our pets are in good hands. Highly recommend 👌”

“Okay, I have to rave about this sitter for a sec. My cat is usually pretty shy around new people, but she won him over almost immediately; no idea how, but I'm not complaining! She sent photo/video updates every day I was gone, which honestly made the trip so much more relaxing. Litter box clean, feeding on point, and she even picked up on him being a little mopey one day and gave him some extra snuggle time without me even asking. Also grabbed my package that was outside the door, which was such a nice bonus. I came home to a happy, chill cat and zero stress. 10/10, would book again in a heartbeat. If you need someone trustworthy and clearly obsessed with animals, this is your person!”
About: I’ve owned and cared for both cats and dogs since I was a kid and learned that each pet has their own unique personality and charm no matter the age. Patience, repetition and treats are the greatest tools to have when training pups and caring for senior dogs. I believe that pets are family and should be loved as such as they help us more than we could ever know. I currently work evenings and pet care would fit into my morning schedule. I’m a bit more flexible on Monday and Tuesday and can walk your dog morning or afternoon. I always make sure that my place is clean and anything harmful for them is put away. I give my dogs lots of love attention and take them on long or short walks depending on the weather. During the spring and summer I take them to the beach or parks to have some fun in the sun
“Shanna did an amazing job caring for my cats while I was away on a much-needed vacation. From our initial meeting, my cats took to her right away, which was such a relief! She was very responsive and shared thoughtful, detailed updates in each Rover card. I genuinely looked forward to reading them after every visit. It was clear she cared for Skylar & Jackson as if they were her own. I was able to feel at ease during my trip because I knew they were in good hands. Highly recommend!”

“Ariella is amazing! She was a heaven sent angel and our boys love her! We have seen such an improvement in their behavior and demeanor - all from her daily visits and providing them with care!”

“Natalya took care of our cat while we were away for a long weekend. From my first interaction with Natalya, she was warm, responsive and responsible. Every interaction thereafter confirmed these impressions. Our cat took to her immediately when she first came in for an introduction - not something he does easily with most people (usually just hides). While we were away, Natalya sent photos and updates during her drop in visits. She definitely put our mind at ease that our cat was in good hands and being taken care of. I highly recommend Natalya and would not hesitate to use her services again.”

“Jonathan is awesome, my cat loves him! He is very caring and his summaries from his visits are very detailed. I felt at ease knowing my little girl was in good hands. I will definitely recommend to friends and family.”

Brittany did an awesome job with my cat and she made sure my cat ate a good amount since she is fussy eater sometimes. Brittany had a lot of patience with her and spent quality time with her. I could tell Brittany loves cats, she really loved being around my little furry one. Would definitely use Brittany again soon when I’m out of town. Thank you so much.

As of September 2026, there are 12,366 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Roxbury. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Roxbury. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
