I received a video right away. My dog, Lucy, adapted to Brittany right away. Lucy is usually timid around new people, but was attached to Brittany with no problem! Will definitely be reaching out to Brittany again!

About: My most prominent pet care experience this year is with pitbulls and kitties (of separate families). Most of my dog experience is with big dogs, I’m happy to visit with small doggies too! Apart from pet care, I teach classes across the city (one hour classes throughout the week). It’s great when I have the opportunity to be with animals. It’s a little bit more chore work of course… I give all of the pet owners credit for doing what you do. During all visits I'm available by call or text. I provide quality care yet I do understand that sometimes when you’re away you might want a photo or two.

About: I differentiate myself by offering specialized skills like administering medication, handling medical emergencies, and providing personalized care tailored to each pet's needs. Building trust through expertise and professionalism is key in communicating effectively in order to deliver the best possible care. Additionally, my own experience with my dog has also granted me the ability to understand and meet such needs as well as the emotional needs of any pet, and to establish a trusted relationship with both pet and owner! I am currently a per diem part-time nanny to a family in New Jersey while attending online college classes; however, the alignment of both schedules allows me the flexibility to include my passion for pet care! I am flexible and available most weekdays between 9AM-2PM and weekends between 10AM-7PM. My work experience in animal welfare in clinical and boarding facilities allows me to apply what I have learned into what I can do. As an overnight supervisor in a doggy daycare environment, pets are cared for by providing a safe and stimulating environment, ensuring their well-being, and offering socialization opportunities with other dogs. This includes activities such as playtime, walks, feeding, and monitoring their behavior whereas in a clinical setting, caring for pets involves monitoring vital signs, administering treatments, conducting medical procedures, and providing post-operative care. It also includes maintaining cleanliness, following strict protocols, and ensuring a comfortable environment for the animals. Although not as extensive in daycare or clinical facilities, in-home pet care allows for individualized attention where needed as needed without the external stressors of a constantly changing environment. In-home care involves the basics of pet welfare and includes providing food, water, exercise, and companionship. Additionally, administering medication, following specific care instructions, and maintaining a safe environment are crucial, all of which I can provide based on my background and experience.

I'm very comfortable and capable with all temperaments and energy levels. I have a hybrid work schedule, where I work from home 3 days during the week, and would be able to take breaks for walks. About: I've been caring for dogs and cats my whole life. Friends and family have had me house sit and walk their dogs and check in on their cats for many years. I have a bachelor's degree in Animal Science and plenty of experience with small pets, birds and livestock as well! Any animal you have, I can care for. I have experience with medication, wound care, and injections if your pet needs those things as well. I've worked with plenty of seniors, young puppies/kittens, and special needs animals over the years too. I currently only work very early mornings and afternoons on Thursdays and Saturdays. I have time in my schedule to walk, feed, and check in on pets of all sorts. When at your home I can play with your dogs or cats. I can work on basic obedience and crating as well. I will clean any bowls, crates, or play areas needed and have no problem scooping waste from your yard if requested after letting your dog out. I will try my best to make your pet feel safe and comfortable with me at all times.

It’s been amazing experience with Shannakae as a first time user of Rover. She is very caring and patient with our Cane Corso. You can tell that she really enjoys what she does. She is very genuine and easy to talk to. Great with communication! Wow! We love that she looks out for our dog’s best interest by giving us any recommendations that make him feel more comfortable and safe. Our dogs fell in love with her right away. She takes care of Hachi as her own :) At first, I was a bit worried because we’ve never hired a dog walker through the app, but Shannakae gives us piece of mind. I would recommend hiring her anytime, hands down! We are extremely pleased and thankful for how well she takes care of Hachi. Your pet will be in good hands! She is very reliable, quick responsive and extremely friendly. Hachi adores her! We look forward to continuing working with you! :)

About: Hello, My name is Julius and I am a Brooklyn based photographer/multimedia artist. I am extremely responsible, amiable, and truly do have a special place in my heart for dogs. I was born and raised among these lovable beings due to my mother and father being dog-enthusiasts. Most importantly, I understand what it takes to raise a happy and healthy canine companion. It should always be kept in mind that dogs are a reflection of their environment and upbringing, therefore, in order to keep your pal happy and healthy lots of love and attention should be given to them! I am very flexible, so I am easy to work with and can adapt well to your schedule. Thank you in advance for considering me to help take care of your pet.

About: Hi y’all, I’m Aza! I am a caring and reliable pet sitter serving the Belle Harbor/ Rockaway Park area. I have 2 kitties of my own. I also had a large dog for 15 years. I am comfortable walking dogs of all sizes and energy levels, and I always make sure they get the exercise, attention, and love they need. Over the past few years, I’ve worked with a local cat rescue and fostered 6 cats before adopting the last two. Many of my fosters came to me shy and scared, and I’ve had great success helping them feel safe, build and adjust to new people and homes. I’m available most weekdays and flexible on weekends. Please don’t hesitate to message me to ask for availability. I can make exceptions and squeeze you in last minute if I can. I am not currently employed so my schedule is very flexible. My rates are very reasonable. When caring for your pets, I’m attentive, punctual, and treat them like my own. I make sure they’re fed on time, walked or played with, and always safe. I’m careful with doors, mindful of their surroundings, and happy to give medication if needed. Very good with litter, keeping bowls clean, and lots of playing. I look forward to meeting your fur baby :) I am available for walks/ check ins most of the time. I do work a few nights a week but I will be updating my calendar and we can work out an arrangement for repeat visits / walks I always make sure your pets are fed on time, walked and played with. I always make sure to close the outside doors quickly after I enter so there’s no chance of your pet accidentally escaping. I’m always mindful of the surroundings. I genuinely enjoy making sure your pet is having a good time by engaging them in playing or just petting them. I am also punctual and experienced with giving your pets medication if they require it.

About: I always had a dog growing up so I am very familiar with dogs and the care they require. In high school I got my own puppy who I raised and trained by myself. In addition to this I watched my neighbors cats every time her family went on vacation so I also have experience caring for cats as well as dogs! I’m home for the summer and have full availability! I can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits, and I have plenty of time to give pets the attention, exercise, and care they need. I would like to care for each pet exactly as instructed by the client to ensure the pet is comfortable. If allowed by the client, I enjoy taking pets outdoors for walks, exercise, and fresh air whenever appropriate

My dog liked Ariella right away, which honestly says everything. She has some joint problems, so walks can be a bit tricky, but Ariella found a gentle, thoughtful approach that worked perfectly for her. I really appreciated how patient and attentive she was , it was clear she took the time to understand my dog’s needs and made sure she was comfortable every step of the way. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in such caring hands. Highly recommend Ariella to anyone looking for someone kind, reliable, and truly great with dogs!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
