“What a gem! I’d trust this woman with everything. She is so kind and sweet. Went above and beyond with our pets: sent us pictures, a brief text daily, washed and swept after the kitties. She’s a vet-tech also, so in an emergency she knows where to go. Worth every dollar plus tip for peace of mind and happy, healthy animals in our own home??”

“Rachel was wonderful. I booked her last minute for my cat and she was super responsive, always on time and went above and beyond with hanging out with my cat and taking incredible pictures.”

“Ariella was absolutely fantastic! They went above and beyond to not only take care of our senior cat, but also feed our fish! Would absolutely book Ariella again!”

About: I always had a dog growing up so I am very familiar with dogs and the care they require. In high school I got my own puppy who I raised and trained by myself. In addition to this I watched my neighbors cats every time her family went on vacation so I also have experience caring for cats as well as dogs! I’m home for the summer and have full availability! I can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits, and I have plenty of time to give pets the attention, exercise, and care they need. I would like to care for each pet exactly as instructed by the client to ensure the pet is comfortable. If allowed by the client, I enjoy taking pets outdoors for walks, exercise, and fresh air whenever appropriate
About: Coming from a family of dog lovers, I have had the opportunity to care for pets from a very young age. I have frequently been entrusted in walking, feeding, bathing, and, of course, playing with numerous dogs in my lifetime, and hope to continue to care for such lovely pets for as long as I can. Rest assure that your fur babies will be safe under my care! I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for your pets throughout the week. I’m available for dog walks and drop-in visits every day, as long as I receive at least one day’s notice. Your pet’s comfort and routine are my priority, and I’m happy to accommodate your scheduling needs whenever possible. My home is equipped with a large yard for your dogs to play to their hearts content, along with fencing to prevent any accidental escapes. I also am a proud owner of a friendly American Eskimo, so you do not have to worry about your sweet pups getting lonely. If need be, I can keep my dog in a separate environment so as to not frighten your pup. I also have space to crate your pup if needed, as long as the crate itself is provided. As for my environment, I am a one minute walk from the beach so I can easily take your fur babies out for a walk along the boardwalk.
About: I’ve been caring for my two Huskies and my neighbors dogs for years, giving me hands-on experience with energetic, intelligent dogs that require regular exercise, structure, and attention. I understand the importance of maintaining routines, providing safe and enjoyable walks, and making sure pets feel comfortable and well cared for. I treat every dog with patience, kindness, and the same level of care I give my own. Pet care is a regular part of my daily routine since I care for my two Huskies every day. On weekdays, I’m available for evening walks, drop-in visits, and overnight care. On weekends, I have much more flexibility and can provide longer walks, daytime care, and pet sitting. I always make time to give pets the attention, exercise, and care they deserve. My priority is always your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions, including feeding schedules, exercise routines, medications (if needed), and any special preferences. I make sure pets always have fresh water, plenty of attention, and a safe environment. During walks, I stay alert, use secure leashes, and avoid unsafe situations. I treat every home with respect and every pet as if they were my own.
About: I’ve raised my dog since she was 3 months old. She battled an autoimmune disease, and I cared for her through medications, special diets, and recovery. That experience gave me a deep understanding of medical care, patience, and what it means to truly show up for a pet. I treat every dog like my own—with love, attentiveness, and a calm, caring presence. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I work as a substitute paraprofessional with the Department of Education, which gives me a flexible schedule during the school year and full availability in the summer. This allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets I care for—whether it’s daily walks, playtime, feedings, or just keeping them company throughout the day. With my open summer schedule, I’m especially available for longer stays or more frequent visits. Whether in my home or a client’s, I provide consistent, loving care tailored to each pet’s routine. I prioritize their comfort, safety, and well-being. In my home, pets enjoy a calm, clean space, regular walks, playtime, and plenty of affection. In a client’s home, I maintain their routine and create a familiar, stress-free environment. I treat every pet like family and ensure they feel safe, loved, and cared for at all times.
About: Former dog owner and shelter volunteer with over 15 years of experience. I’m a go-to sitter for friends and I’m an active runner on the Rockaway boardwalk. I'm very comfortable and capable with all temperaments and energy levels. I have a hybrid work schedule, where I work from home 3 days during the week, and would be able to take breaks for walks. Weekends I am free. I live in a 4th floor walk up that allows pets. Other tenants have dogs. I live less than 1 block away from the boardwalk and beach for walks.
“I have been using Rover for a number of years in different locations, and never have I been more impressed than with Sarah. It became apparent quickly this is not just a job to her, but a passion. She went above and beyond in every way, from showing genuine love and care for my cat, to testing out different food portions to find just the right amount for him and communicating with me every step of the way, to washing out his food bowls and spoons used to empty the food cans for me, to even bringing in my mail for me! She also gave a very detailed description each day I was gone of what she and my cat did together, a status on his spirits and how he was eating, and always accompanied by many photos of my cat and their activities during her visit. I will definitely be scheduling with Sarah again for any future cat sitting needs! Thanks again, Sarah!”

About: Hi! I’m Narsing, an experienced and dependable pet caregiver with 5+ years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes, and personalities. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, loved, and active while their owners are away. I understand that every pet has its own routine and personality, so I take time to learn their habits, energy level, feeding schedule, and comfort needs. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, calm companionship, or extra patience and attention, I adapt to what makes them happiest. I’m reliable, punctual, patient, and attentive to details. I can help with: • Daily walks • Feeding & fresh water • Playtime & companionship • Photo and video updates for peace of mind I’m excited to meet your furry family member and provide loving, trustworthy care! About: I differentiate myself by offering specialized skills like administering medication, handling medical emergencies, and providing personalized care tailored to each pet's needs. Building trust through expertise and professionalism is key in communicating effectively in order to deliver the best possible care. Additionally, my own experience with my dog has also granted me the ability to understand and meet such needs as well as the emotional needs of any pet, and to establish a trusted relationship with both pet and owner! I am currently a per diem part-time nanny to a family in New Jersey while attending online college classes; however, the alignment of both schedules allows me the flexibility to include my passion for pet care! I am flexible and available most weekdays between 9AM-2PM and weekends between 10AM-7PM. My work experience in animal welfare in clinical and boarding facilities allows me to apply what I have learned into what I can do. As an overnight supervisor in a doggy daycare environment, pets are cared for by providing a safe and stimulating environment, ensuring their well-being, and offering socialization opportunities with other dogs. This includes activities such as playtime, walks, feeding, and monitoring their behavior whereas in a clinical setting, caring for pets involves monitoring vital signs, administering treatments, conducting medical procedures, and providing post-operative care. It also includes maintaining cleanliness, following strict protocols, and ensuring a comfortable environment for the animals. Although not as extensive in daycare or clinical facilities, in-home pet care allows for individualized attention where needed as needed without the external stressors of a constantly changing environment. In-home care involves the basics of pet welfare and includes providing food, water, exercise, and companionship. Additionally, administering medication, following specific care instructions, and maintaining a safe environment are crucial, all of which I can provide based on my background and experience.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rockaway Park
Anastasiia is amazing!!!! I cannot say enough to emphasize how wonderful they are. I was in a bind with an absolute last-minute need for a pet sitter for my 2 guys-a busy cat who is needy and loves attention, and an older rabbit who can have a hard time adjusting to strangers, and Anastasiia came through with really short notice. They provided consistent updates, were super proactive with communication, and I was very comfortable that my pets were in good hands. When I asked for an extension, again at the last minute, Anastasiia came through again. My apartment was definitely cleaner when I got back than I left it. I’d 100% book again if Anastasiia has the availability (hopefully with a little more notice this time). Really wish I’d found them earlier!!!

Brittany did an awesome job with my cat and she made sure my cat ate a good amount since she is fussy eater sometimes. Brittany had a lot of patience with her and spent quality time with her. I could tell Brittany loves cats, she really loved being around my little furry one. Would definitely use Brittany again soon when I’m out of town. Thank you so much.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
