“Lisa was so amazing with my cat! She put me at ease knowing my cat was in such good hands. 10/10 will be the first person I go to the next time I need someone to watch my cat. My cat adores her and her professional was fantastic. Highly recommend!”

“I had planned a long trip to Italy. My friend had promised to take care of them and then flaked last minute. I reached out to Kristen the week before and she agreed to watch my cats for me. I’m always super anxious about leaving them behind. She made sure to fit a meet and greet into her schedule last minute on video chat. She was very professional and understanding of my concerns and my anxiety regarding the cats. While I was away, she left thorough reviews on how each visit went and what she did with my cats. She was attentive to both me and them, which made me feel at ease where I could enjoy my vacation. I will continue to ask for her services moving forward. Thanks, Kristen!”

“Grace was wonderful and she got along great with our cats. She was reliable, kept us updated with photos and messages, and our cats looked relaxed and happy when we got home. Highly recommend!”

“Marissa is an absolute excellent choice for petsitting. I highly recommend her. She is patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. I had never left my cats alone before and after my experience with her, I felt relieved and reassured everything was going just fine. My cat needs special meal attention and she was able to accommodate him beautifully. She gave me detailed information on what was going on as well as pictures and videos. I will 100% use her in the future! She was amazing!”

About: I’ve owned and loved animals all my life, and treat every animal as my own. I’ve known and loved dogs of all shapes and sizes. I have a 3-year old Frenchie at home named Tera, and she is my baby and best friend. I am a student, and taking classes remotely to pursue a career in Nursing. My schedule is generally open until starting a full-time program. I can do mornings, afternoons, and some evenings if necessary. I walk my dog daily and feed her high-quality and healthy meals, and give her lots of attention and love. I would do the same for any animal in my care.
“Sarah did a wonderful job caring for our cat, Theo, while we were away. She kept us updated with pictures and notes about him during her visits, and made sure he was getting the attention and care he needed. Sarah went above and beyond and we felt so much better knowing she was there to check in and spend time with him. We will absolutely be requesting Sarah to care for Theo again the next time we are away. Highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Woodsburgh
I've been fortunate enough to have Jonathan drop-in on my 2 young Boston Terriers while I'm at work. I first met him in advance so he could meet my dogs and I. We met in person so that he could meet my dogs and of provide any instructions and he was very professional. From that point forward, he's communicated very well and I know my 2 dogs have been in great hands with him. It's very clear he loves animals and I'm happy he spends time with my 2 girls when I have to go on-site to work. I highly recommend Jonathan to other pet parents.

Patricia is such a wonderful sitter. She is so supportive while you're away from your cat (or other pets!) My cat was having urine issues, and she let me know right away so I could get him checked out asap. Thank you as always, Patricia!! Don't hesitate to book with her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
