“Shelly is awesome! She took some extra time for our Grimm to be comfortable with her and it paid off. Communication was great and we felt very comfortable leaving our fur babies in her care.”

“Courteney has dropped in multiple times and for multiple days to care for our elderly cat as we have traveled far and wide. We have never worried about our kitty while we were away and Courteney was on duty. She is extremely dependable, trustworthy, stays in contact regularly, and is sensitive to animals' temperament and moods. I highly recommend her without reservation!”

About: Hi. I grew up helping take care of the best family pets - our collie Lady and our cat Aladdin! I’m looking forward to providing your pet with the care and attention they deserve while you’re away. I’ll provide consistent communication about your pet’s care because your pet’s happiness and safety are my top priority I currently have a very flexible schedule as I was unfortunately part of a recent reduction in force at the last company where I worked full time. This allows me to have extra availability to walk dogs, do drop in visits and house sitting while I'm researching my next full time employment opportunity. Ensuring I provide a comfortable and happy environment in a consistent and safe manner are always my top priorities for all my client’s pets.
“Jerrica did everything that was asked. They spent time with my cat even though he was feeling unsocial, he was fed, water changed & litter changed. He did end up warming up to Jerrica eventually which is a huge plus. Will rebook when the time comes.”

“Shelby did a great job! She was great at communicating with me prior to the visits. The reports after were great as well. Shelby did a great job with following the directions. I would recommend her to others and look forward to using her again in the future!”

“Vanessa was awesome with my dogs while I was out of town! She was very communicative and reliable, which is exactly what a helicopter parent like me needs. I would definitely hire her again.”

About: Owned dogs for majority of my life, a couple rescues and one that the owner could no longer care for. Get along with every dog I have met. Willing to drive them to different locations for walks and to get them out of the house. Very trustworthy with people, animals, and homes. Have experience walking animals and house-sitting. Want to help people with their pets to ensure everyone is happy and healthy. I feel dogs deserve so much in life and my hope is that I can repay them for what they have given me by making sure they are happy. Also want to help their owners because I remember how stressful it was when I would go on vacations or even short trips and worrying about our dogs and if they would be cared for.
“Jen was AMAZING!! So good with our dogs and so flexible and understanding when we needed to update our plans and needed her to stop by again with an additional visit. Highly recommend!!”
“Lacey looked after our newly acquired cat while we were out of town for a week. We were nervous leaving her for the first time. Lacey sent us daily pictures and reports, which were really nice. We were able to relax on our trip knowing she was in great hands with Lacey.”

“Rachel is fantastic and very flexible for my needs. Will definitely use her again in the future. Highly recommended. No problems at all efficient courteous, and an invaluable help with my crazy work schedule.”

“Kyra was really amazing! I was gone for 2 weeks and she was so consistent with check-ins. She took great care of my kitties. She is a lovely person and did a meet and greet prior to me leaving which was awesome. Highly recommended and I'm sure I will book with her again!!”

About: I have recently experienced the loss of my own pets. Im not quite ready to get any new pets, but as an animal lover and dog enthusiast there is something missing greatly in my heart. I am eager to utilize my free time to care for your pets. If you or someone you know requires pet-sitting services for a weekend or an extended vacation, please do not hesitate to contact me. This is a new endeavor, and I am uncertain about its duration, but I am committed to providing the same level of care that I gave to my own pets, ensuring your peace of mind while you are away. Please message me if you are interested or know someone who is. 🐶🐱 I am good to take on puppies or senior dogs that require additional care or medicine. I do have a full time job, but am able to be remote. I would glad stay at anyone’s home to sit the pets and add them into my daily routine as I did with my own dogs. Let them out, feed them, walk them, play with them, cuddle them, and ensure they know they will be taken care of under my watch. I can easily take on a crate in my home. I do not have a yard, so I would need to walk them on a leash for them to use the bathroom. Apartment dogs will be great to watch in my home, as they would be use to that atmosphere!
About: I have been watching since I was 20 years old. I watched friends dogs, siblings dogs and I used to have a Jack Russell beagle mix. His name was Milo. I work Monday through Friday, but I drove a truck. I’m on the road all day so I have the ability to come home. Check on the animals play with them. Feed them walk them throughout the day. I usually get off at 4 PM. No matter if I’m in some ways home or the animals are at my house I love to go out for walks with dogs and play with pets in general pet them. Let them sit on my life and just spend time with them so they never feel lonely.
About: I have a sweet dog who’s been part of my life for the past 7 years, so I understand how much love, attention, and care our furry companions need. Having my own pet has taught me a lot about responsibility and reading animal behavior, which helps me provide the best care for others too Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine! I take care of my own dog every day—feeding, walking, playing, and giving lots of love—so I’m already used to planning my time around a pet’s needs. I enjoy spending time with animals, and caring for them fits perfectly into my week. Whether it’s early morning walks or evening check-ins, I’m happy to make pets a priority in my schedule. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or at a client’s, I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I follow each pet’s routine closely—feeding times, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. I keep their environment clean, give them plenty of attention, and respect their unique personality and needs. In a client’s home, I’m careful to maintain their space just as they left it, keeping everything tidy and treating their home with respect. My goal is to make every pet feel happy and stress-free while their family is away.
About: I have always been around animals my entire life! And I also have a fur baby of my own so I know how difficult it can be which made me want to help out other people! I don’t have a job so I am always free since I am a college student and have all the time on my hands and what better way to spend it then with animals! My dog is like my child which I know that how it is for a lot of people which is why I will always care for your animal like mine!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rome
We cannot say enough wonderful things about Megan and Matt! Leaving your pets behind is always a bit stressful, but they completely set our minds at ease from the very first introduction. Here is why they are absolute rockstars: Communication: We loved getting regular updates and adorable photos. It was so reassuring to see our pets happy, relaxed, and having a great time. They went above and beyond to make sure our skittish kitties were comfortable and they both warmed up by the end. Professional & Attentive: They followed all of our feeding and care instructions perfectly. They truly treat your pets like their own. Matt noticed our food was low and was attentive to the issue and communicated the need so quickly. Peace of Mind: They are reliable, punctual, and incredibly trustworthy. If you are looking for top-tier pet sitters who provide stellar service and genuine affection, look no further than Megan and Matt. We will absolutely be booking them again in the future. Thank you both so much!

We couldn't be happier that Audrey took care of Gary and Zoya during our 8-day vacation. Especially our girl Zoya, who's always scared of having other people in the house. Audrey won her trust with love and patience, and the photos she sent spoke volumes! Seeing Zoya so comfortable around her gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Recommended!! Will book again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
