“Mariya was reliable and professional as the sitter for our two cats. We had some unexpected changes come up and we really appreciated her flexibility. Good prompt communication and a pleasure to work with. I would definitley recommend working with her!”

“Abby has been great with our 3 month old puppies! She gets them out for long walks and helps them get their energy out. She understands their needs and has helpful suggestions based on her experience.”

“Elizabeth was wonderful, she was able to help me last minute and took such good care of my two cats! She gave thorough updates, answered any questions I had about the cats while I was gone, and both cats seemed relaxed when I got back. I would definitely recommend her services!”

“Alexis did drops ins for my kitty while we were out of town. She was thoughtful in her notes and her pictures were wonderful. She even contacted us about an issue with our garage and to clarify instructions. She was a great help to us and we will definitely be rebooking.”

About: I grew up on a farm, so I took care of cats, dogs, and various other farm type animals like horses and cows quite frequently. I also have a cat and two dogs back home that I take care of whenever I go back home. I’m currently waiting to hear back from multiple full time jobs, however this can take a while so at the moment I am usually free 24/7 for any pets who need taken care of! If I was to take a dog to my home, I have plenty of space for them to roam around inside as well as plenty of places outdoors to walk, or even go to the dog park if they enjoy going there. My apartment is perfect for a cat as well because there are plenty of windows for sunbathing and comfortable places to take naps, and for more active cats there is plenty of indoor space to play.
“Carina was our first experience using Rover, and we couldn’t have been happier with her service! She was thoughtful above and beyond what we asked of her for our two dogs, and she provided thorough feedback after each visit. Can’t recommend her enough - if we could give her above 5 stars, we would!”

“Andi was amazing! Very enthusiastic. We have 3 cats and one is usually very shy. She usually only comes out once guests have left. The first day she came out to meet Andi and bonded with her right away. Andi was very attentive and gave us great updates. It gave us less anxiety leaving our furry friends because we received such detailed notes each day. We will definitely be booking with Andi again.”

“Samantha arrives as scheduled and takes care of our fury family member. He enjoys time spent with her. She is consistent and dependable. This is why we will continue to rebook Samantha as long as she is available.”

“Abby is a superior dog sitter. I have 4 special needs yorkies & Havanese and Abby had to medicate, feed special food and provide lots of attention even carrying a dog downstairs to go to the bathroom. Abby is proactive, attentive & cleans everything so effectively!! Highly recommend!”
About: I've taken care of dogs my entire life and am really good with them. Friends and family rely on me often to watch and house sit their animals when they're away. I've lived with dogs my whole life and I love taking care of them. I have two dogs of my own and I love them deeply. I love to take them on walks when it's nice, and I taught my big dog a couple small tricks. I'm currently in college full time so my schedule will change every semester. Currently I have one class that is fully online. I'm available for house sitting the whole week aside from every other Sunday and pretty much any time for check ins and walks. I want to make your animals feel comfortable around me. At my client's home, I will take them for walks, play with them, and care for them accordingly.
“I can't reccomend Taylor enough! She took such good care of my cats and lizard while we were on vacation for a week. We have a very shy and standoffish cat and it was clear to me that Taylor made them all feel so safe and comfortable based on how willing the cats were to let her snap pics of them every day - shes a great photographer too! Great communication, punctual, flexible (thank you again for feeding and keeping an eye on our bearded dragon!), and just all around a wonderful sitter who we will absolutely be booking with again. I would trust her in my home and with my pets any day. Thank you Taylor!”

About: I’ve been a dog owner for most of my life and have always loved animals. I have experience being the primary caretaker for dogs from puppies to seniors. I am diligent to follow all instructions and will make sure your pets are happy and healthy in a safe, fun environment. I have a flexible work schedule that allows me to take care of pets at most times that fit their routine seven days a week. I have a fenced in yard with plenty of room to run and play. My neighborhood is quiet with several trails and parks nearby that are perfect for pets who like to walk. I’ll also be sure to provide updates including photos.
“Gina is fantastic. She communicates everything and went above and beyond with our dachshund. It was wonderful to know someone with vet experience was helping to take care of her as she recovers from an injury.”

“Sophia was nothing but amazing with our dogs! She went over in above with the customer service she provided! For a first time user with Rover I will be requesting her again. She was always on time and made sure to keep us updated with pictures as well as concerns with the changes in our dogs. She treated our pets like they were hers. I would recommend Sophia to anyone and will be booking her in July! Thank you again Sophia for everything!!”
About: Hi! I have had animals all my life, from hamsters and fish to cats and dogs, I am an animal lover. If I was better at science I would have been a vet, but instead I just want to help you out and play, walk, or babysit your fur baby. I live near plenty of walkable places and would love a fluffy companion to walk with. I have had small to massive dogs in my home since age 5 so all sizes are welcome. I also love and have had cats and would be so happy to keep a kitty company as well. I am a remote worker and therefore working from home gives me a lot of freedom. Most of the time when I don’t travel you will find me laying by the pool on my computer or going for a walk on a call. I will have plenty of time to do so with a furry friend too. I care about your pets safety because I care about animals, so any specific requests can be accommodated if need be! I work remotely so I am able to spend quality time with your pet and be not only physically present but also offer a lot of undivided attention. I treat every pet like they’re my own and protect them just the same. Every pet deserves love and attention that makes them feel safe and comfortable.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
