Christine is great with the dogs. I needed help because I had foot surgery and can’t walk them, and she walked them when my husband went on a business trip. The pups were so excited to see her each day! We would request Christine again in the future

Suzanne F has been a wonderful dog walker. Penny is eager to see her every time she shows up at our door. We are happy that Suzanne can handle Penny's occasional hard pulling and takes her for long walks to burn off enough energy so that Penny can relax when she returns to our apartment.

About: I have several years of experience providing dependable and compassionate pet care for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. I have cared for both small and large adult dogs through regular walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting, ensuring they receive the exercise, attention, and care they need. I am comfortable handling energetic, strong dogs as well as senior dogs that require a gentler approach. My priority is always the safety, happiness, and well-being of every dog, and I treat each pet with the same love and care I would give my own. I am currently working part-time so I have plenty of time to check in on pets. Prefer morning walks and late afternoon walks.Have an open schedule. When caring for pets in clients’ homes, I make sure they stay comfortable by following their regular routines. I provide fresh food and water, take dogs on walks, let them outside for bathroom breaks, clean up after them, administer medication if instructed, and spend quality time playing with and comforting them. I also keep the home clean and secure by bringing in mail or packages if requested, watering plants, and ensuring doors and gates are locked before leaving. My goal is to give pet owners peace of mind by providing reliable, attentive, and loving care while they are away.

About: Thank you for considering me. I’ll treat your dog as a member of my own family. I have experience with dogs who have medical or speacial limits. I have lived with dogs my whole life. I have experience with other pets such as cats, snakes, rabbits, lizards, and fish. I love sending you photo updates on your pet. I do understand that the pets decide whether or not to accept someone as a sitter. I hope to get to know your amazing pets, just as well as you do. Thank you. I have a very flexible schedule. I am currently investing myself in education, and preparation for an apprenticeship. Giving time to pet care would be a highlight to my day. Although this was originally created for sitting I am more than confident in walking your dog. I would love to know what training your dog may already have so that I can work with it, rather than against it. If your dog has no training, perhaps we could practice some walking skills together

Brian took great care of my girl, Lemon! He made sure the plan for Lem was super clear beforehand, which I especially appreciated since the schedule I gave him to complement my friend's visit schedule was not perfectly regular, and he didn't miss a visit! He also had to deal with a terrible cold spell, but when he couldn't walk Lemon for more than 5 minutes at a time (about all she can tolerate when it's that cold), he took her for two short walks to make sure she did all her business and then played ball with her in the house. We came home to a dog who, while happy to see us, was clearly doing just fine without us, which is all I can ask for :)

About: My name is Bob, and I have been a dog owner for over 8 years, currently owning two energetic pups, Ellie and Watson! My wife works from home, so someone is almost always home, unless we all go ot in the evening! Our kids are 12 and over, and we all love spending time not only with our dogs(and cats!), but meeting new ones as well. Our rescue dogs, Ellie(18 month old female Australian Shepherd/Catahoula) and Watson(1 year old male Schnauzer/Terrier) enjoy spending time playing in the yard together when weather is nice, or horsing around together inside. They love socializing and playing at the dog park too, so having a 'play date' would be good fun for them! We have free access to water at all times, toys to play with, and healthy treats, if allowed by visiting pets' owners. Feedings for our dogs happen twice a day at 8 am and 5 pm; arrangements could be made regarding your pet's feeding needs, depending on time of day, and length of stay. Walks, playing, and lots of attention guaranteed! We can be flexible to meet your needs; please ask.

Erin was fabulous. She was attentive during the meet and greet, was flexible on trying different combinations of walking and yard time, and gave excellent feedback- which I was able to share with another Rover sitter who was helping on additional days during our trip. I especially like the map of the walk. That is very helpful to me as the dog owner to gauge the level of activity. I highly recommend Erin

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Riderwood. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Riderwood. On Rover:

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
