About: I’ve taken care of pets ranging from cats and dogs, to other animals. I love any and all animals and will provide attentive and gentle care! I’m currently going to school full time! Monday’s I have time for drop-ins after 12:30pm, and full availability on the weekends Fri-Sun and school breaks. I am reliable with bookings and always will make sure your pets get the time, care, and attention they need! I have hands-on experience caring for cats, dogs, and other animals, so I’m comfortable working with animals of many different personalities, energy levels, and needs. I’ve cared for playful pets, shy and anxious ones, and those who simply prefer a calm, predictable routine. For cats, I provide patient, low-stress care with attention to feeding, litter box cleaning, playtime, and giving them the space when needed. For dogs, I’m experienced with walking, feeding schedules, play, and handling. I always focus on making pets feel safe, relaxed, and loved while their humans are away! I also have experience handling hedgehogs, including feeding, cleaning cages, and handling them gently and correctly. Because hedgies are sensitive and easily stressed, I’m especially careful about temperature, routine, and quite surroundings. I treat every pet like their my own and always pay close attention to their behavior, comfort, and wellbeing so you can feel confident your pets are in good and loving hands!
About: I have been surrounded by animals my whole life and I wouldn't have had it any other way! I grew up with dogs and volunteered weekly at a local shelter with my father. As an adult, I eventually grew my own animal family to include dogs, cats, rodents, reptiles, fish (fresh and saltwater; coral and live rock). My knowledge of nutrition, environment/habitat, and training further broadened after working many years at a local Richmond, VA pet store. Direct experience caring for a large number of animals simultaneously granted me an enhanced ability to meet unexpected challenges while remaining calm and patient. I'm now familiar with caring for animals (birds) I myself have not been able to add to my own family... yet! These days I keep up to date with modern standards of care purely to enrich my animal family and those I look after. I am typically available for any service offered on the site; however, I will be unable to stay through the night during the month of February. I am available in the mornings at 5 AM, but must leave by 9:30/10 PM in the evenings **for the month of February only.** Please reach out anytime with questions and/or to discuss your specific needs. I am more focused on quality than quantity. This means I’m open to discussing modified pricing to ensure affordability in certain situations. I am available most anytime and will respond to inquiries promptly! I am pivoting from a career in the field of health insurance to focus solely on pet care- it has been significantly more rewarding (in my experience). My current schedule does vary. I frequently update my availability for this reason. I am typically available for any services offered on the site; however, I will be unable to stay through the night during the month of February. I am available in the mornings at 5 AM, but must leave by 9:30/10 PM in the evenings **for the month of February only.** I provide primarily in-home care for your pets. This includes the areas around your home and may include local parks depending on the animal, their temperament, and everyone's comfort level. Generally, my visits will start with a quick visual check of the pet's environment and a moment to greet each pet, checking for any changes in behavior or health. Larger and younger pets (such as with dogs) are often outside as soon as I am able to adjust each harness and leash! The main goal here is exercise and enrichment for your pet(s) while you are away. Depending on the type of animal, I will use some of this time to clean any enclosed animal habitat. I prefer to walk, run, and play before we eat and/or bathe. This helps pets' expend energy, allowing them to relax afterward and is a great time for bathing, if you chose! Eating after exercising (never immediately before) also helps to prevent bloat. Its all petting and cuddles after eating and exercising. All animal habitats, enclosures, and your home are then systematically secured to ensure pet comfort, safety, and security. Expect pictures (videos at request) with each visit so you can be sure your pet is healthy and happy while you are away! I am a natural homebody so there is no need to provide anything extra for my entertainment! I'll likely have a good book or two with me and my computer. **I am able to provide OVERNIGHT care in MY HOME to certain SMALL ANIMALS WITH provided HABITATS.

“Loved having johnita walk our pup! Our large dog has several specific needs/instructions. Johnita was very communicative and did a great job taking care of Lillie. Will definitely be using her again!”

“This was our first time booking with Cashae, and she was absolutely amazing! She showed up right on time, communicated clearly, and my dogs warmed up to her right away, which says a lot since they can be a little shy with new people. She sent updates and pictures during the walk, and I could tell my pups were happy and comfortable the whole time. Everything went smoothly, and I felt completely at ease knowing they were in good hands. I’ll definitely be booking with Cashae again”
