Kaitlin is not only a natural animal lover, but also a very kind and responsible person. She stayed at our home and cared for our dogs during a snow storm that brought almost a foot of snow with it. She is an excellent communicator. I felt very comfortable traveling out of town knowing that she was taking great care of our dogs and home in our absence. 100% recommend her! 😊

Cheryl was a great sitter. She stayed at the house and watched our two large dogs. She took good care of them and sent us pictures and updates on them over the weekend. She even took care of a package that was delivered for us. I would use Cheryl again.

Haile was absolutely amazing from start to finish! I was a little nervous leaving my babies — a 4lb chorkie and a cat with someone new for 5 full days but she put my mind at ease completely. She was reliable, trustworthy, and professional in every way. I came home to a clean house exactly the way I left it which says everything about her character and respect for other people's space. Most importantly my animals loved her and that's the ultimate seal of approval. You can't fake that. 🐾 Haile will be my go-to pet sitter from here on out and I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone who wants their babies in good hands while they're away. If you're looking for someone you can trust completely - she's your person!

Great care for our little rescue guy. My dog instantly took to her. Eileen house sat and dog sat and was beyond responsible for both. We would 100 % call her when needed. She went out of hr way and I knew my guy was safe and happy.

I had the pleasure of working with Robyn as my dog walker/dog sitter. From day one, it was clear that Robyn had a genuine love and passion for dogs. Her professionalism and reliability were outstanding. I always knew I could count on her to be on time and take great care of my furry friend. Not only did she ensure my dog got plenty of exercise and fresh air, but she also provided the companionship and attention that my babies need. She made sure to always send daily updates and pictures! What sets Robyn apart is her deep understanding of canine behavior. She knew just how to handle my dog’s personality and needs, making every walk a positive experience. She made sure to ask me about training and what she can do to follow our usual routine as closely as possible. My dogs absolutely adored Robyn and were always excited to see her. Safety was a top priority for Robyn as well. I appreciated the thoroughness in making sure my dog was secure during walks, especially when crossing streets or encountering other dogs. Her attention to detail gave me peace of mind. I can’t recommend Robyn highly enough. She provided exceptional care, trustworthiness, and genuine affection for my pet. If you want a dog walker who goes above and beyond, Robyn is the one to choose. My pups and I are truly grateful for her wonderful service and will be recommending her to family and friends.

Our elder dog got sick and Zana was a champ handling some unexpected cleanup duty, leaving our house nice and clean. We sincerely hope we can rebook Zana the next time we leave town.

About: I have taken care of pets since I was six years old, starting with a few fish. Then it developed into lizards, birds, hermit crabs and dogs. I love and care for all and make careful research to provide the best care. I’m home from college so my weekly routine is very flexible until the end of summer! Just in time for vacation! Personal preference is for afternoons but happy to work with anything. I keep alarms set at home for when to feed my pets so everyone knows when it’s breakfast and dinner time! Three times a day I will take my dog out for 30-minute to an hour long walk. As a 75lbs husky, my dog loved to pull on the leash but I was able to slowly train him out of that habit. Now he walks beside me and makes walking around the neighborhood a breeze!

Brenna did a very good job with our dog Kona who can be a little difficult as she barks for some time at strangers. Brenna has a good way with animals and was able to settle her down quickly. We felt very comfortable with Brenna as this was the longest time we had been away( 10 days) from Kona. We will definitely call on her again

About: I’ve always had a special bond with animals, and my family often trusts me to care for their dogs. I look forward to making you and your pets happy too. I have a wonderful Standard Poodle named Stormi Bless. Caring for pets is my part-time job while I’m also pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. I’m confident I can build a strong connection with your dog and provide them with the love and attention they deserve. When I look after my family’s dogs, I make sure they get plenty of attention, affection, and playtime. I’m always mindful of their needs, whether it’s time for a walk, a meal, or just some extra care. This is currently my part time job as I am in college as well. I currently take up criminal justice, but I am sure to connect with your dog and show them support. When taking care of my family pets I am sure to make sure their dogs get attention, love, and the play time they need. When a pet shows signs of needing a walk or it’s time for food I pay attention to it all.

Bronte is so personable, kind, observant, and communicative! She even washed and dried the sheets she left for a one night stay. My baby is really happy today and I loved getting videos and pictures the whole time. You can tell when you meet her she has such a sweet heart and a good soul and it feels good to know my kitty cat who is my baby is in good hands. She even drove out for a meet and greet which means so much to me because I’m a little crazy as a pet parent. My house looks great and my baby taken care of and I would absolutely hire Bronte again, no questions asked!

We are so thankful we found Talayia to watch our two dogs and cat for overnight stays! She really came through for us at the last minute when we were in a tough spot of our last sitter cancelling. She communicated with us daily and sent us picture updates which put us at ease for the two weeks we were gone. She also kept our plants alive and our house was kept clean. Thank you so much for everything!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Pikesville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Pikesville on Rover is $39.73 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 4,585 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pikesville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pikesville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pikesville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pikesville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pikesville. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
