“Cheryl was a great sitter. She stayed at the house and watched our two large dogs. She took good care of them and sent us pictures and updates on them over the weekend. She even took care of a package that was delivered for us. I would use Cheryl again.”

“Kaitlin did a wonderful job staying in our home with our dog and cat. We had a meet and greet at our house prior to our vacation and our pets both seemed comfortable with her immediately. After the meet and greet she sent us detailed notes for us to review to ensure she captured the details and nuances of our pets. During the day she was communicative and sent photos. It was clear she treated our pets as if they were her own. When we returned our house was just as we had left it and Kaitlin even left some treats she had gotten for our dog. We will definitely be using Kaitlin the next time we go out of town!”

“Bronte is amazing! Our dog absolutely loved her and they became instant friends. She even brought him a Bully Stick when she came (yes, she asked me for permission first!) Our dog is big and can be a little overbearing but she handled him perfectly. And our house was in perfect condition when we returned. Will DEFINITELY be rebooking! Thanks, Bronte!!!”

“Haile did an excellent job taking care of my dogs when we went out of town for a few days. She sent pics and kept us up to date on how they were doing. My home was clean and dogs were happy.”

About: I’ve cared for my own pets at home, dogs and cats, so I’m very used to their routines and daily needs. I also spent a year working at a boarding kennel, where I took care of dogs and cats by feeding them, taking them on walks, giving medication when needed, and making sure they felt safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m currently on summer break from college and have a very flexible schedule with plenty of free time to provide consistent, reliable care for your pets! I do not provide in-home care on Rover due to other animals in my home, ensuring safety and comfort for all pets currently not available.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for 13 years and have 2 dogs of my own. I’ve rescued stray dogs off the street before and put them in a safe environment. I was once very active in helping animal shelter. A close friend of mine is a Veterinarian and had asked me to dog sit for her when she traveled, it was a pleasure to handle 5 dogs at a time at her house. I enjoy taking walks in nature with dogs. I can also take care of chickens, horse, rabbits, hamsters, and fish when you are away. I have plenty of time to play with your dog and take them on walks. My schedule is open daily and weekly routine as well once established. I love to give dog treats and play ball with them. Taking them on long walks. I can also give them a lot of petting for attention. I will take pictures for updates on their activity.

“Morgan was very professional and respectful staying in our home. She took amazing care of our 155lb Bernese mountain dog. We will absolutely be booking with her again!”

“If you’re looking for a great pet/house sitter, Riley is your person. Riley took great care of my pup and fish, checked in daily with me, sent photos and provided daily walks each day. At the end of the stay, Riley summarized Toby’s week, including highlights and household things she did on a sheet of paper. Riley is very reliable and I’ll definitely book her again in the future.”

“Keira was great with our old pup Toby while we were out of town. She was knowledgeable about care and Toby was in great hands. She gave updates and photos throughout the stay.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 11 years old, and I’m comfortable with cats and dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels. People have called me a “pet whisperer” because I have a calm, patient way of connecting with animals and earning their trust. I’m also physically strong and confident handling large, powerful, and energetic dogs, including dogs who need firm leash control, longer walks, structure, and plenty of activity. Safety, patience, and clear communication are always my priorities. I’m available 7 days a week and have a flexible schedule throughout the day. I can help with morning, afternoon, evening, and late-night care depending on your pet’s needs. Whether you need regular visits, last-minute help, walks, drop-ins, or extended care, I’m happy to work with your schedule whenever possible. I follow each client’s instructions closely and do my best to keep every pet’s routine consistent. I know every animal has their own personality and comfort level, so I take a patient, respectful approach to care. If your pet wants playtime, attention, or companionship, I’m happy to give that. If they are shy, anxious, independent, or simply prefer space, I’m just as comfortable keeping them company from a calm and safe distance. My goal is always to help your pet feel secure, respected, and well cared for.
About: I've had my own pets since I was born and I have taken care of my own pets since I was 10, I am a pet owner now! so trust me! I understand how nerve wracking it can be to leave your pets in the care of someone else! I will make your your furry friend has a good time even with you being gone! I'm currently enrolled in college but not during the summer i make rover my full time job! i can spend majority of my day loving and caring for your furry friend! I make sure every pet i care for feels loved in their own home when missing their owners with plenty of play time, walks, pets (including ear scratches and belly rubs of course) and just spending time around them so they aren't alone. I want all furry friends to feel like I am a friend to them and not a stranger in their home.
About: I have taken care of pets since I was six years old, starting with a few fish. Then it developed into lizards, birds, hermit crabs and dogs. I love and care for all and make careful research to provide the best care. I’m home from college so my weekly routine is very flexible until the end of summer! Just in time for vacation! Personal preference is for afternoons but happy to work with anything. I keep alarms set at home for when to feed my pets so everyone knows when it’s breakfast and dinner time! Three times a day I will take my dog out for 30-minute to an hour long walk. As a 75lbs husky, my dog loved to pull on the leash but I was able to slowly train him out of that habit. Now he walks beside me and makes walking around the neighborhood a breeze!
About: I’ve always had a special bond with animals, and my family often trusts me to care for their dogs. I look forward to making you and your pets happy too. I have a wonderful Standard Poodle named Stormi Bless. Caring for pets is my part-time job while I’m also pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. I’m confident I can build a strong connection with your dog and provide them with the love and attention they deserve. When I look after my family’s dogs, I make sure they get plenty of attention, affection, and playtime. I’m always mindful of their needs, whether it’s time for a walk, a meal, or just some extra care. This is currently my part time job as I am in college as well. I currently take up criminal justice, but I am sure to connect with your dog and show them support. When taking care of my family pets I am sure to make sure their dogs get attention, love, and the play time they need. When a pet shows signs of needing a walk or it’s time for food I pay attention to it all.
“Tabitha is WONDERFUL! My dog is very emotionally needy (has anxiety), and I needed a sitter very last minute. Tabitha came to the rescue and was so attentive with Franny and did such a good job with her! I really trust her and i can’t wait to use her again 🙂”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Garrison
Bronte is so personable, kind, observant, and communicative! She even washed and dried the sheets she left for a one night stay. My baby is really happy today and I loved getting videos and pictures the whole time. You can tell when you meet her she has such a sweet heart and a good soul and it feels good to know my kitty cat who is my baby is in good hands. She even drove out for a meet and greet which means so much to me because I’m a little crazy as a pet parent. My house looks great and my baby taken care of and I would absolutely hire Bronte again, no questions asked!

Julian did a great job with both my 100 lb dogs and my 17 year old cat! Julian is very responsive and a good communicator and he has a pleasant upbeat attitude. He was careful about giving medication to two of my pets, asking for clarification when needed. I recommend Julian as an excellent pet sitter.

This was the first time I have used Dawn for my dog Latte. I had such a great impression of her when I first met with her and didn’t hesitate to use her for a trip that I took recently. She’s highly dependable and really cares about dogs/animals and their well-being. Latte seemed to really warm up to her and sat at her feet and on the bed next to her every day! They bonded nicely and that made me happy. I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again. She took great care of the house and left it in great condition! Most importantly, she gave me daily updates on how things were going and sent a picture of my pup. I highly recommend her to watch your precious pets. She’s awesome!

Kaye was incredible. She stayed at our place over the Christmas holiday while we were out of the country, and watched over our dog & my mom’s dog as she was also traveling with us. This was an unusual situation because the dogs do not ordinarily live together - Kaye was magnificent at both navigating the little tensions that arose between them, and at keeping us posted about the every-day goings on and how she was handling it. We got updates routinely, and she really went above and beyond in terms of taking care of the house while we were away. Some choice words I would attribute to Kaye: trustworthy, responsive, and thoughtful. Will definitely be hoping Kaye is available the next time we have our-of-town plans!

I couldn’t be happier with the care Max received. Aaron is reliable, communicative, and incredibly caring. Our dog was clearly loved and well taken care of. I felt completely at ease the entire time I was away. I'm so grateful and would absolutely recommend Aaron to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter.

Corey was an amazing sitter for my dog mylo! I had to leave for a trip with short notice, Corey met me and mylo and was very flexible, great communication and took great care of my place. I had no worries or issues leaving my dog with him. I will definitely be using Corey again and recommend him to anyone needing a dog sitter! I will be back to book him!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,542 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Garrison. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Garrison walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Garrison maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Garrison choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
