“Jenny always goes above and beyond when caring for our pups! We are worry free when way and always come home to happy puppies. I can’t recommend her enough to everyone in the area. This last time she even cared for a hot spot throughout her stay with the dogs, changed dressing and provided great updates.”

“Katherine was great! She was able to accommodate my last-minute request for in-home sitting. She was fantastic at communication and met my sweet boy's needs. It was wonderful to have someone in my home whom I felt comfortable leaving my babies with. I love how many pictures she sent over the weekend, and I was able to relax and enjoy being out of town with family. I would absolutely recommend her for all of your pet setting needs, and I plan on having her watch my babies again!”

“Sara was awesome with my kitty Wilson! She sent me lots of pictures and updates throughout her stay. I could tell he was getting so much love! Our apartment was clean upon our arrival home and Wilson was one happy camper. I highly recommend Sara!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals since I was a kid. I had a wiener dog for 17 years, so I have tons of experience with senior dogs! I’ve had 4 dwarf hamsters and grew up volunteering with horses. I love playing with dogs, so high energy is not a problem for me! I also love long walks! I’m currently a 1L at Charleston School of Law, so I can’t have a pet of my own yet! This is a great way for me to gain experience and play with animals! I’m currently a Law School Student, so I have a decent amount of free time to take your dog on a walk! Or I can stop by to check in! I cannot care for pets at my place since I live in an apartment! Although, I am more than willing to care for them at your place!

“Monica was amazing! She came through for me pretty much last minute and took phenomenal care of my boy. He loved spending time with her and Basil (Monica’s dog, they are practically twins). She administered his allergy meds and sent me photos and videos of my pup which meant a lot to me because I missed him so much. I absolutely recommend Monica, she is AMAZING!”

“Kenzie was great! Kept us updated with tons of photos and updates while we were away. Came home to happy dogs and our house in order! Would recommend Kenzie for your animal care needs!”

About: Decades of experience caring for dogs, horses, and a variety of animals. Trusted, reliable, and committed to providing safe, loving, one-on-one care tailored to each pet. Because every pet’s needs are different, I work closely with each client to create a care schedule that fits both your pet’s routine and my work schedule. Advance booking is recommended, especially during Charleston’s busy tourist seasons. I love leaving things exactly as I found them—except your pets. They’ll receive extra love, attention, playtime, companionship, and compassionate care while you’re away, giving you peace of mind when you return home.
“I normally don’t leave reviews, but Brittany truly deserves one. She gave me complete peace of mind while I was away, knowing my dog, Lola, was in such caring hands. Brittany is organized, punctual, kind, and genuinely loves what she does and it shows. Lola was so well cared for, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I will absolutely book with her again every time I need a sitter. She is, without a doubt, the best caregiver I’ve found since joining Rover. Highly recommended!”

About: I am comfortable hanging out and cleaning up after them. I will give them the care and attention as if they were my own! I can give medicine if needed, will clean messes and litter boxes! I work from home and have the flexibility to drop in and spend time with your fur babies! I can walk or just chill, whatever is needed. I will follow your care instructions to a T - you know your pet and what's best! I will be sure to keep doors/gates closed, use crates if you instruct to, and keep a generally cleaned up space to not lose a sock ha!
“Hannah was so great! She helped me out last minute and even squeezed in time to come meet Paxton before staying with him. She had good communication and left the house just as we had left it! :)”

“Elise was absolutely fantastic! She cared for my two mini dachshunds, Oscar and George, along with my boyfriend’s chocolate lab, Claire — definitely a full house, but she handled it with ease. She kept me updated throughout the stay, which gave me peace of mind knowing they were in great hands. When we came home, everyone looked happy, healthy, and well-loved. I couldn’t have asked for better care and would highly recommend her to anyone!”

About: I have a 6 year old Goldendoodle of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet. I love to go on long walks and i’m always ready to give treats or a pup cup!! I’m an RN, which gives me great flexibility in my schedule and plenty of time to care for pets on my days off. I’m very active and love getting outside for long walks and adventures. My goal is to make sure your pet gets lots of exercise, attention, love, and a few treats while you’re away! I always try to make pets feel as comfortable as possible while their owners are away. In my client’s home, I like to stick to their normal routine with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, potty breaks, medications if needed. I also like to keep owners updated with photos so they can feel at ease knowing their pet is well cared for.
“Tonya was absolutely great with the dogs! They loved her from the minute they met her! Missed her when she was gone as well. She was so respectful of our home and going above and beyond to keep it clean! Would plan to rebook in future”

“Vicki was wonderful! It was so great to go on a trip and not worry about our pets! Our house was neat and clean when we returned and Vicki even washed and changed the bed sheets before she left. Very happy with her services!”

About: I’ve grown up with cats and dogs running around always, but did not start caring for other people’s pets until I was about 16. Since then I’ve had many home-stay and visiting pet sitting jobs! I’m an animal lover and have ease warming up to animals, even ones that need a little extra attention. I also have no problem doing some household chores that you may need done while you’re away! I’m currently working very minimally on my own accord, so I have availability 7 days a week! That means I’m free to spend as much time with your pets as they need. I’m also very flexible should plans change or if you need a last minute cover. In your home, I will be extremely respectful of your space. I am sure to use only what I’ll need to ensure your pet is well cared for happy :). As mentioned previously, if you need anything aside from animal care during the time of hire, I am happy to keep your household maintained for your return.
About: Hi, I’m Kiana. I’m energetic, fun, and creative. I love animals and would like to paint them while I’m watching them. I’m a watercolor and acrylic artist and poet. I recently lost a beloved dog of 15 years in our home and life feels a lot emptier without a pet to play with and go on walks. I would be thrilled to meet your pet and give it the love and attention it deserves. During your pet’s stay with me or an overnight visit in your own home, you can expect that I will play with your pets with their favorite toys after taking them out on a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood. You can expect at least 3-4 walks, and photo updates from me. When they seem adequately tired, I’ll take out my watercolor paints and do my best to capture them while they are still. You have the option of purchasing anything you like later. Otherwise, it was still time spent having fun. I look forward to meeting your furry companions. I am a self-employed illustrator/graphic designer. I’ll have time for pet-sitting most days or times kf the day and in any weather. I love to walk long distances and can handle dogs with high energy! I have no pets in my home currently, but I do sometimes care for my parents’ two large dogs and my sister’s two weenies when needed. The big dogs are very energetic and active, so I take them for very long walks and sometimes bring them to county parks nearby. The weenies tire out when walking, so I enjoy bringing a wagon with me in case they need a lift. I used to own two cats with my ex, but he owns them now. When I did own cats, I had a good understanding of their dietary needs and mental stimulation needs.

Emma is truly the best of the best. She is not only super smart, only needs to be told something 1x, instantly makes you feel confident she can handle situation that arises, but is kind and professional, punctual, and a great communicator. We and our dogs admire her tons. We look forward to having her back!!!

Ellie was perfect for our German shepherd Stella! Stella loved her right at first sight and was very excited to see her again after our meet and greet. Ellie accommodated us last minute on a holiday and was perfectly on time and patient with us as we panicked to get out of the house. She was so very sweet with our girl Stella and we will definitely be using her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Rantowles on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,656 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rantowles. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rantowles walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rantowles maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rantowles choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
