“This is the second time we've booked Karlie for taking care of our cat. Everything went well and the house was in good order when we got home. We will definitely use her in the future!”

“Monica was amazing! She came through for me pretty much last minute and took phenomenal care of my boy. He loved spending time with her and Basil (Monica’s dog, they are practically twins). She administered his allergy meds and sent me photos and videos of my pup which meant a lot to me because I missed him so much. I absolutely recommend Monica, she is AMAZING!”

“Mackenzie stayed with my dog overnight in my apartment and everything went great! She was very communicative and responsible and I felt very comfortable with her at our meet-and-greet. During her stay she sent a photo and provided updates, and she followed all the instructions for Osito’s feeding and walk schedule. My apartment was very clean when I returned and exactly how I left it. I will definitely use her services again in the future and recommend her for pet sitting!”

“Heidi did a wonderful job taking care of our elderly dog (Josie) who needs multiple medications at various times of the day. Heidi got the meds into her (not an easy task) without trouble, understood Josie's limitations and worked with them, and quite obviously made much of her. After just a few days, Josie was sleeping on the bed. Heidi also kept us well informed, sent us marvelous photos, and left the house spotless. We'll be calling again.”

“Jenny is a lifesaver and fantastic dog watcher. Not only did I have to leave early for a trip, she was able to come a whole day early! She sends at least 2 updates a day with pictures and my dog LOVES her. She’s watched Rupert twice now and I just mentioned her name and he gets excited. She’s very clean and always has my house freshly spruced when I come home, which is so nice to come home to after a long work trip. I 10/10 recommend Jenny. She’s our new doggy nanny when in Charleston!”

About: I’ve spent my whole life caring for animals, and nothing makes me happier! I work with horses professionally, and have also raised, fostered, and trained puppies and kittens. We love big dogs, small dogs, many dogs, any dog! I’ve taken dogs on roadtrips across the country, on horseback rides, on boats and kayaks, and countless adventures! My partner and I suddenly find ourselves without a dog of our own, so we would love to welcome yours into our home. We have a safe, comfortable, child-free, single story house with a doggie door onto a screened in porch and a fenced in yard. We live on a cul-de-sac with awesome neighbors and several wonderful pups, so if your dog is social they can make many friends! And if they’re not, our backyard is fenced and private. We’re more than happy to have them on our couches and beds (as long as that’s allowed at home) and we also have a crate if that’s where they feel safe! We are comfortable with puppies, senior dogs, or anything in between, and I have basic veterinary skills that allow me to administer oral medications as well as intramuscular and subcutaneous injections as needed. My partner works from home, and I am currently between seasonal jobs, so our lives are well suited to revolve around pets! We have a doggie door that leads to our fenced in yard, so dogs can take themselves out as they like, and cats can access the screened in porch. I also love taking walks through our neighborhood, which has safe streets as well as wooded trails and access to several creeks if anyone wants to swim! The cul-de-sac is also perfect for throwing a ball or frisbee, if your dog is into that kind of thing. We spend most evenings at home snuggled up on the couch, which has plenty of room for four legged guests (: Our home is safe and child-free, and (unfortunately) does not currently have any resident pets. We live on a cul-de-sac set far back in our neighborhood and have access to several wooded trails and marsh creeks. We have a dog door that leads to a screened in porch and a fenced in yard, which we have trained dozens of dogs to use over the years. I love taking walks, playing, and curling up on the floor or sofa for snuggles. I am also well trained in the art of giving mindless and continuous scratches. I’ve worked with many types of animals with all kinds of preferences, and I’m always happy to meet them where they’re at!

“Tonya was a fantastic sitter for our 2 senior dogs. She was incredibly responsive providing daily updates and photos and gave the dogs so much love and care while we were away. We will absolutely be using her again for our dog sitting needs!”

“Kiana did a great job with our dog. We have a reactive dog that needs time to get used to strangers. Kiana was super calm with her and won her over quickly. She was also very communicative with updates. We would absolutely have her back again to take care of our dog.”

“We LOVE Caroline! I have had such a hard time finding a reliable sitter until her. She is so sweet and made us feel so at ease leaving our babies. Will definitely be our go to sitter from now on”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats my entire life and love them. I have been a dog walker and pet sitter in my spare time for years as well in my down time. Now that I have relocated to South Carolina from Massachusetts I am looking to rebuild those relationships with some deserving furry friends. I am available to take your pet for walks, play dates and will board them for you. I have a beautiful, clean and spacious two bedroom apartment and have all the love in the world to shower them with. Please reach out! I am available every day for mornings, afternoon and night visits, walls and boarding! I am also available for last minute check ins late at night. My approach to pet care is rooted in two things: a lifelong love for animals and a professional commitment to reliability. Whether I am hosting a pet in my home or visiting yours, I offer a high-touch, organized service. For boarding, I focus on creating a calm, predictable environment with plenty of exercise and affection. For in-home visits and walking, I leverage my experience in property management to ensure your home is treated with the utmost respect while your pet receives my undivided attention. I am experienced with senior pets, understand the nuances of pet-friendly travel, and am committed to providing the peace of mind that comes with knowing your furry family member—and your home—are in expert hands.
About: 🐾 Looking for loving, reliable care for your pup? I’d love to help! Whether you need overnight care, walks, or playtime, your dog will be treated like family in our home. Just a 1 dog household. ( 8 pound dog that thinks he is 89 pounds) Chief Tail Wagger, Oliver, is always on duty, so your pup must be comfortable and enjoy the company of other dogs. Send me a message to see if we’d be a great fit for your furry family member! 🐶❤️ I work from home Tuesdays and Fridays and I am home most weekends unless I am traveling. I have a flexible schedule and your pet will remain active. I follow the clients instructions as far as feedings , if they need extra love and attention , which they would get anyway…regular snuggles are necessary. All dogs are in the bed and on the couch unless they have a preference and would rather sleep elsewhere. It’s the dogs world and we are just living in it. The dogs will go on regular walks and the pavement will be tested if too hot. I have a grass yard to walk around in. If there are any medications. I am an expert! I have given every type of medication to my pets.
“Katherine was great! She was able to accommodate my last-minute request for in-home sitting. She was fantastic at communication and met my sweet boy's needs. It was wonderful to have someone in my home whom I felt comfortable leaving my babies with. I love how many pictures she sent over the weekend, and I was able to relax and enjoy being out of town with family. I would absolutely recommend her for all of your pet setting needs, and I plan on having her watch my babies again!”

“I came home to a happy and healthy doggo, she updated with pics as needed and responded very quickly to any texts. Left the apartment spotless and even had everything already cleaned in the wash before leaving. Will definitely be trusting Alicia with my dog again!”

“Erica was wonderful! I had her house sit for me with my German Shepard and kitten and she went above and beyond to make sure she knew all of their needs. She stayed with them and gave them lots of attention. She was very good and giving me updates and pictures. I will definitely be using her from now on! Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

About: My services include feeding, freshening the water, walks, playtime to get the zoomies out, medication if needed, brushing, cleanup, and plenty of TLC. I also send photos and text updates so you can breathe easy knowing your baby is in caring, dependable hands. What sets me apart? My focus is on trust, routine, and a real connection to get to know each pet so you and your baby feel at ease. I have always had dogs in my own life—through every stage. So I’m experienced at handling all ages. Exercising, playing, hugs and attention are most important for their overall health. And I’ve got plenty to give! I am a retired high school teacher who still tutors, but only after school lets out. My children are grown and my husband is at work all day. I’m in West Ashley (inside the 526 loop) and available any time throughout the day. I currently tutor middle and high school students, so I have a flexible schedule. I do not travel often and my family lives here, so I can be counted on to be around. I provide attentive, loving care that keeps pets comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow each pet’s routine, including feeding, fresh water, exercise, playtime, medication (if needed), litter box or waste cleanup, and plenty of affection, while also respecting your home.
“I cannot recommend John highly enough for house and pet sitting. While I was traveling overseas, one of my dogs, Charlie, experienced a serious medical emergency involving multiple seizures. Being thousands of miles away, I was incredibly anxious and felt helpless. John responded immediately with professionalism, compassion, and calm under pressure. He quickly adapted to Charlie’s changing medical needs, coordinated veterinary care, administered medications as directed, closely monitored his condition, and kept me informed every step of the way. His clear communication and thoughtful updates provided tremendous peace of mind during an incredibly stressful situation. At the same time, John made sure Kimber continued to receive the same level of attention, exercise, and care, ensuring both dogs’ routines were maintained despite the unexpected circumstances. It’s one thing to care for pets during normal circumstances—it’s another to confidently manage a medical crisis with such dedication and composure. John’s reliability, compassion, and genuine concern for my dogs went far beyond my expectations. Knowing he was there allowed me to focus on getting home while trusting that Charlie and Kimber were receiving exceptional care. I would not hesitate to have John care for my home and pets again and wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for someone dependable, knowledgeable, and truly invested in the well-being of their animals.”

“Jeanette (Donna) took great care of our pup. She regularly checked in with photos. Jeanette (Donna) confirmed start time the day before and verified we were returning as planned. Our pup was in great hands with Jeanette”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rantowles
THE BEST!!! We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter! She was an amazing communicator, kept us updated with lots of pictures, and spent quality time with our pup instead of just stopping by. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was so well cared for and loved while we were away. We will absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter!

Emma is truly the best of the best. She is not only super smart, only needs to be told something 1x, instantly makes you feel confident she can handle situation that arises, but is kind and professional, punctual, and a great communicator. We and our dogs admire her tons. We look forward to having her back!!!

Ellie was perfect for our German shepherd Stella! Stella loved her right at first sight and was very excited to see her again after our meet and greet. Ellie accommodated us last minute on a holiday and was perfectly on time and patient with us as we panicked to get out of the house. She was so very sweet with our girl Stella and we will definitely be using her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Rantowles on Rover is $59.83 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,650 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rantowles. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rantowles walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rantowles maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rantowles choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
