I am currently a 2nd year medical student at MUSC so my schedule differs from day to day. I do have flexibility, mostly in the afternoons, but it’s always best to double check about all-day services or mornings because I may be available!

Safety, trust & environment
Having 2 kitties of my own, i would be sure to keep your pets separated to ensure the safety of all parties involved. I would be sure to strictly follow any instructions regarding crate training or special diets. I keep my kitties indoors aside from the occasional screened in porch adventures. I never leave my cats unsupervised outdoors. I also ensure to respect the boundaries of any pets in my care and to read body language prior to engaging. I hope to offer your pet the same comfort that my pets have afforded me whilst they are in my care.
Information Emma B. would like to know about your pet
It is important to know any and all information pertaining to your pets medical or social needs. I would hope to be provided with a list of any medications they are taking, how often they are to be administered, as well as administration route. I also would love to know if your pet has issues with strangers or is not entirely friendly to new people. Strangers can be scary for anyone, human or animal! I will definitely use caution when caring for our more timid friends in hopes they may warm up to me! Any specific dietary needs should be disclosed as well! I also think it is important to alert me to any behaviors that should be discouraged (ex: scratching furniture, eating grass, etc.) and how you typically eliminate the behavior so I may continue your training when you are not around!
A typical day
I enjoy playing with dogs outdoors where they can really get their zoomies out! I look forward to playing a lot of fetch or tug-o-war with your puppy pals! For kitties, I know mental and physical stimulation are really important to prevent depression as well as overall boredom. My cats love playing with their laser pointer or wand toys! I also have them use treat puzzles to stimulate hunting activity.

Pet care experience
I have been taking care of pets since i was a child. I grew up with all different breeds of dogs and several cats. I have had the privilege to help care for a wonderful great pyrenees, 2 energetic malteses, a chiweenie, and dozens of kitties. I currently have 2 wonderful kitties that are the center of my world. Both were adopted from local ASPCA shelters and have quickly become my little slice of heaven. Benji & Gus are probably the most spoiled fur babies on the planet, but i wouldn’t have it any other way. With Benji’s medical history, i have become well versed in antibiotic administration, whether orally or through his nose. I enjoy helping my friends with higher energy pups expel some of that enthusiasm by taking them on walks or playing fetch for as long as possible.

Reviews

Emma is truly the best of the best. She is not only super smart, only needs to be told something 1x, instantly makes you feel confident she can handle situation that arises, but is kind and professional, punctual, and a great communicator. We and our dogs admire her tons. We look forward to having her back!!!
Emma has always been excellent with my pet Bruno! She has great communication, which always puts me at ease when I am away, and always sends the best pictures! We love using her and can't recommend her enough!
Emma treated my dog, Piper, as her own. In her care I always knew Piper was not only well taken care of, but happy as well. Whether she needed to go out for a walk/ play, eat or just needed some company, I knew I could always count on Emma and it made it easier to be away from my girl. Emma is so reliable, trustworthy, and has a huge heart for any animal she comes across.
