About: I am a lifelong animal lover with a B.S. in Animal Science, veterinary clinic experience, and a variety of work history with animals spanning 5+ years. My greatest accomplishment may be personal though: training and caring for our family dog. I have spent a lifetime loving and learning about animals, and I promise to provide the utmost care for your beloved pet. I'm currently between jobs due to a career change so my schedule is flexible and caring for your pet will be my top priority. I treat client's homes with the same respect I treat my own home. My house is not available for pet sitting unless hypoallergenic breed.
“McKenna has the perfect personal touch to care for our senior dog. She’s loving and caring and kept us up to date on the important things. We’d love to have her help again and again 🐾🐾”
“Rhondee was great, prompt, and responsive! Medicine had to be administered for my senior dog so needed someone I felt I can trust. Rhondee scheduled for a meet n greet as this is my first time which made me feel comfy”

“We stayed at the Ritz Carlton and Matthew was able to come pick up our Frenchy and take him to his home down the street for afternoon playtime each day. He would then return him after we left for dinner to his crate in our room. Our pup was relaxed and calm and so excited to see Matthew when he’d pick him up.”

“Amazing experience! Melanie was able to accommodate my request at the last minute, which I really appreciated. She was reliable, communicative, and took great care of my pet during the drop-in. I also really appreciated that she was open to doing a trial visit first, since I’m looking for someone I can trust for longer-term house sitting in the future. Everything went smoothly, and I felt very comfortable with her care. I’d definitely recommend her and would happily book with her again!”

“Our first time using Rover with a wonderful sitter. Julie went above and beyond for our dog, with great care and concern for him, for us and our property. Highly recommend Julie and the fantastic service that she provided for us and our pup!”

“Don has been great with our 2 dogs. He has boarded them several times and lately has been dropping by our house for a couple hours when we’re out for many hours and taking the dogs for walks, swims, playtime and doing some training!”

“Amazing! She is wonderful and approachable and our cats love her. She also brought in our boxes that shipped (sorry they were a little heavy! I expected them to arrive when we are around). She is a wonderful person as well!”

“If you have a complicated household that involves many instructions, Shayna can handle it! Shayna took care of my two dogs for 3 days. Now, these dogs are spoiled and old, so they have a routine – and on top of it all, need to go out frequently for breaks. Fortunately Shayna lives only a couple of miles away and was able to let these two little dogs keep their routine. She visited four times per day. And each time she gave me a little update with a photo of them. Their routine with food is a bit complicated too, with both kibble and chicken and pills. I wrote out the instructions and she followed through perfectly – my dogs were not traumatized when I got home. One, just about didn’t care if I was back….the other was so happy to see me, but she’s not a dog that likes other people. That’s another thing, she was able to deal with this one dog’s head problems. She was an abused dog and she really is only our family dog. After a couple of years, she doesn’t mind the groomer. But anyway Shayna took pictures of Prim too, and she was just fine. Bottom line, don’t worry….Shayna is smart, very kind and very responsible. I will not hesitate to ask her to help us again! She will put your mind at ease that you left your fur babies at home.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We can’t thank Holly enough for stepping in at the last minute to take care of our pets! She was incredibly understanding and accommodating with our sudden trip, and her communication was excellent from start to finish. We really appreciated how attentive she was to all of our pets’ needs and how she kept us updated with messages and photos—it gave us such peace of mind while we were away. Everything was perfectly handled, and our pets were clearly happy and well cared for. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional pet sitter!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all sizes since I was a young girl, and animals have always been a natural part of my life. I’ve rescued dogs throughout my adulthood and loved every breed, personality, and quirky soul that’s come my way. Even cats — despite my allergies — tend to walk right up to me, which always makes me smile. I’ll still care for them with love (and a little help from allergy meds). I’m an empath with a deep, intuitive connection to animals. Nervous, shy, senior, or sensitive pets usually relax around me quickly. I read their body language, respect their boundaries, and create a calm, predictable environment where they feel safe and understood. I also bring professional caregiving skills to my pet care. As a retired massage therapist and longtime caregiver, I can offer gentle pet massage, calming touch, and support for aging, compassionate end of life care and support or anxious dogs. I’m comfortable providing wound care, administering medications, and injections for diabetic animal when needed. What truly sets me apart is the combination of lifelong love of animals, my experience, intuition, and genuine compassion. Your pet will be cared for with patience, warmth, and the same steady presence I’ve brought to every animal I’ve loved. When I am caring for your loved one I commit to your Pet only. No other side jobs. No leaving to walk or feed another animal. I serve one family at a time whether that is 1 pet or 3 or more Your family is my priority always. I create a calm, predictable environment where pets feel safe, understood, and cared for in my Home or Yours. I will respect your home, your space, your privacy and the trust you placed in me.
About: I care about the quality and attention that I give when taking care of pets. I used to walk 8 pugs at a time. I was known as the pug walker. I am a lecturer in communication studies and believe in clear and open communication with my clients. I promise to treat your pets as if they were my own. Kindness and compassion are a big part of my philosophy of life. I will give your pet love and my undivided attention when I care for them. I am an animal lover and love cats and dogs equally. I have always had both cats and dogs but currently do not have any pets. I look forward to hearing from you and hope that you can sense that I am a great petsitter. I am currently working part time and have a great deal of flexibility for taking extra special care of your fur babies. I love spending time with all kinds of animals. I am respectful of space and treat anyone's home with care and utmost respect. I am willing to work together to create an excellent experience for everyone involved.
“Jessica is an amazing dog walker / sitter. She made me feel so comfortable that my girl Olivia would be well taken care of while I attended a wedding in Palm Springs. Highly recommend and will definitely be reaching out again if I come back again to Palm Springs!”

“Angelica is very reliable and quick to respond. She was available last minute. It’s wonderful to have someone that we can trust. She is very sweet with our two rescue dogs 💕”

About: I’ve been a pet owner for most of my life, so caring for animals comes naturally to me. I understand that every pet has a unique personality, routine, and way of feeling secure. I take time to get to know each pet so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. Whether they enjoy gentle walks, playtime, quiet companionship, or extra cuddles, I will provide the dependable and attentive care they need. After recently saying goodbye to my beloved dog of 12 years, I am not quite ready to welcome another puppy of my own. Caring for other people’s pets has become an especially meaningful way for me to continue sharing my love for animals. I understand how deeply pets are cherished, and I will care for yours with the same tenderness and attention I would want for my own. Since I work from home, I’m available any day of the week and have plenty of time to give your pet the attention, companionship, and affection they deserve. I believe every pet is unique, so I take the time to earn their trust, follow their routine, and make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I care for every pet as if they were my own. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I follow your care instructions carefully, pay attention to each pet’s unique personality, and provide lots of love, patience, and companionship. I’ll also keep your home tidy and send regular updates so you always know how your furry family member is doing.
About: With over 11 years of hands-on cat care experience, I bring a depth of understanding that goes far beyond basic sitting. My background includes working with animal shelters, caring for energetic kittens, supporting senior cats with special routines, and raising my own three cats, each with their own unique needs and personalities. This range has taught me how to read feline behavior, adapt quickly, and provide calm, confident care in any situation. I’m especially attentive to routine, cleanliness, and emotional comfort. Whether a cat needs gentle patience, playful engagement, or quiet companionship, I tailor my care to what helps them feel safest and most at ease. I treat every cat as an individual—not a checklist—and my goal is always for pet parents to feel complete peace of mind knowing their cat is in experienced, compassionate hands. I’m a full-time pet sitter, which means your cats receive my full attention—not rushed visits squeezed around another job. My flexible schedule allows me to spend quality time with your pets, closely monitor their needs, and adjust care as needed to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I strive to maintain a peaceful, secure environment in your home so your pets feel comfortable and stress-free. From following routines to keeping your space tidy and secure, safety and trust are always my top priorities.

Alexis was great! My four cats all have different dietary needs but I could trust that Alexis took care of them all as instructed. I could rest assured they were well taken care of and she communicated with me consistently while I was on my trip. Great pet sitter, especially for a gang of cats. Would recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rancho Mirage. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
