“James took great, thorough care of our Wolfie over the holidays. We were able to rest easy knowing he was in good hands. We highly recommend James to watch your furry loved ones!! 🩷”
“McKenna was great with my kitty! Dropped in for 3 visits while out of town, always got great photos and updates. Will definitely book with her again for all future trips!”

“Samantha was fantastic! She arrived on time and took great care of my cat, who absolutely loved her and played with her the entire visit. She made sure my cat was fed, kept everything tidy, and locked up before leaving. I felt completely comfortable knowing both my home and my cat were in good hands. I’d definitely book with her again!”

About: I am a stay at home mom who recently had both children go to school full time, freeing up my schedule, with that I have so much extra time and love to give to your animals. I've had both dogs and cats my entire life. I currently have two pets, one dog, Arya and one cat, Calcifer. Arya is a senior dog so I am fully capable of taking care of pets at all stages of life. I am currently a stay at home mom to two little boys that are in school full time. I would be able to take care of your animals while my kids are at school. I will also be able to come over in the evenings before bed to take care of any animals needs. I have two animals, a cat and a dog. I am fully capable of cleaning out litter boxes, feeding and making the cats have access to water. My dog is 11 years old, with a senior dog as a pet, I understand the extra care that some animals need.
“We had Rhondee drop in our dog while we were away and we came home and all was well and great with our dog Cajun. Rhondee was able to accommodate the drop in times that we requested, which was much appreciated! Would certainly recommend to anyone else!”

“Marisa was excellent! She took great care of my four cats, who all require special diets. She was so accommodating and easy to work with. And she took plenty of pics of our fur babies so my husband and I had peace of mind while away. Would definitely book again!”

“Mikayla was WONDERFUL to our animals while away for the weekend. She kept us well informed with pictures each drop off, communicated with us of everything and even found a baby lizard in our bathroom and relocated him outside to keep him safe. The girl loves animals and it was so apparent from the moment we met her to the moment we walked into the door from a long weekend and none of our dogs seemed stressed out. We will be using her for all of our outings from now on. Trust me, she is outstanding and you need to look no further for a reliable and caring person to trust with the care of your fur babies. First time using rover and could not have gone better thanks to Mikayla.”

“Never having used a pet sitter in the past I was a little apprehensive about leaving Bentley alone. However, Christopher removed that concern with daily notes on the Report Cards and multiple photos during the (6) visits that I booked him; Bentley appeared relaxed in every photo. In fact, with those updates I really was worry-free while out of town. I would most definitely engage with Christopher.”

“Such a blessing to have Matthew watch over our fur babies! He was attentive, responsive and dedicated to keeping our babies safe and secure during our vacation. Daily updates and fast responses, even though we were halfway around the globe. He adapted to a problem while we were gone, and resolved it for us without complaint. If you’re thinking about him, don’t think twice, just book!”

“Henny is such a wonderful and reliable sitter for our beloved Cat! She helped us same day when our house burned down in the Palisades Fire. She is what every family needs. Like Mary Poppins for your Fur Baby. Thank you Henny!”
“Kimberly was great all the way around—a natural with cats of all temperaments, reliable, great communication, and efficient. She even noticed that some of my plants were looking sad and watered them! Highly recommend.”

“Erika sat with my somewhat anxious boxer/Labrador while I went to an appointment. She has a very calm and gentle manner, perfect for an easily stressed pup, and it was clear that my dog really liked her. Erika was prompt, professional and followed all instructions. I would gladly engage her services again.”

“We had set up a 30 minute meet and greet. He arrived on time.we sat and chatted. Romeo got up On the couch and laid beside him. He liked Kevin’s arm. We took a stroll in our community dog park. I think he was surprised by the degree of Romeo’s fear aggression . There were three little dogs that showed up with their owner off leash and were not obeying commands. We simply held on and walk out of the park.”

“Angelica is very reliable and quick to respond. She was available last minute. It’s wonderful to have someone that we can trust. She is very sweet with our two rescue dogs 💕”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Thousand Palms
I met Megan for the meet and greet for her to drop in to check on my cat while we were out of town for a few days and I immediately trusted her. I appreciate her excellent communication and as a bonus she took great photos of my cat which made me feel even more at ease. She was super helpful and followed all care requests perfectly. I will definitely be rebooking!

Megan took very good care of my little Bisquit, a kitten like cat! Bisquit loves to play, and Megan played with her, kept up with the litter box, fed her, washed her dishes, all of that. What i lived the most was she won bisquit's heart and bisquit came out of hiding.I think the next visit, maybe even the first. That never happened before! It was most important to me that my little cat would feel some love and safety, and not feel alone. And Megan did that perfect, and she did the normal stuff too very nicely. I will ask Megan to help us out again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Thousand Palms. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
