“This was my first experience with Diane, and she did a fabulous job! She kept me updated on her pet care visits with my cat, and it really put my mind at ease! She is very friendly and communicative - I’d happily utilize her services again. Thank you Diane!”

“This was my Chiquis first Rover visit. I felt so at ease after our meet and greet. Thank you so much for taking such good care of my fur baby! Will be reaching out again!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was 9 years old, and have had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember. I have taken care of dogs, cats, and reptiles for friends and family. I am currently looking for a part-time job, but my schedule is generally free to work around when your pet will need care. I am willing to adapt and switch up my schedule to have your pet be my priority. I am familiar with crate training, and I have a great understanding of pet behavior. I have worked with a variety of different animals, each with very unique personalities, and their safety and trust is my priority.
“Sophia was able to help take care of my bunnies for a super last-minute trip and did a great job! She sent lots of pictures and gave detailed updates on how they were doing. I really appreciated the communication and knowing they were well cared for!”

“Emma is my first choice to take care of my feline gruesome twosome on my frequent business trips. I highly recommend her in any scenario. She gives me peace of mind when I travel to know that both of my cats will be well taken care of, played with, and as relaxed as possible.”

About: I have experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, including feeding, walking, playtime, and basic grooming. I’m attentive, patient, and treat every pet like my own I am a stay at home mom so I’ll be home with your pet most of the day! And available to go on walks as well I have a fenced yard, and a very friendly husky who loves visitors! Your pet is free to the whole house, can be crated if you need.
“Angela is punctual, reliable, and great at communicating updates. My dog warmed up to her right away, which says a lot. It’s such a relief knowing he’s in good hands while I’m at work. Highly recommend!”

About: I am a cat mom to a bengal cat named Tango. Tango’s favorite activities include playing fetch, taking walks along the Seine (he’s just returned from 2 years in Paris) and play dates with his homies Hammy & Otie (dogs). 🫶🏼 Tango aspires to be a Royal Canin model. We live in a house in La Quinta with a fenced yard, great for playing and exercise while confined. Residential neighborhood near old town and the park. Great area for walks, safe and clean. I mostly work from home, unless I have to travel. Otherwise I am available all hours and can schedule according to your pets specific needs. I care for all pets the same way I would want my kitty cared for. My cat is like my child, he has a very unique personality and style that I have fostered since I got him. I approach each animal according to their unique personality and their owner’s caretaking style.
“Needed to find a new pet sitter in a short amount of time. It's always a little worrisome trusting someone with your beloved pets, especially if they have a medical condition that depends on administering their medicine correctly and on time. Angelina made us feel comfortable and was in constant communication with us, and answered our text messages right away. She also made our dog feel really comfortable too which is a huge plus. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“I have three large dogs — which is no small feat — and finding someone I trust with them is everything. Our sitter was absolutely incredible. She didn’t just watch them; she was fully engaged, spending more time playing with them than I usually get to myself. My dogs can be a handful, and she handled them with so much energy and love. I came home to three happy, tired pups, which says it all. Highly recommend her to anyone, especially those with big or high-energy dogs!”

About: I'm a lifelong animal lover whose instinct has always been to care for pets in need—I used to bring home every stray I found! As a devoted dog owner, my own pup is my constant companion. When he can't join me, I hire a trusted sitter, so I understand firsthand the peace of mind that comes from reliable, attentive care. I will treat your pet with the same patience, respect, and detailed attention I expect for my own. You can count on consistent updates and my full focus to ensure your furry family member is safe, happy, and well-cared-for. I work a consistent full-time job with an 8-hour shift, which means I’m available for drop-ins and walks before 7-8 AM and after 6 PM most days. My top priority is providing a safe, trustworthy experience in your home. I follow strict protocols: securing your home (locking doors/gates precisely as found), focusing solely on your pet with no distractions, and adhering meticulously to your instructions for their safety and routine. You’ll receive prompt updates and photos after every visit, so you’re always informed.
About: Ever since I was a kid I’ve always had a dog and my family friends have always asked me to take care of their dogs while away. I adapt to any special instructions you may have and am very attentive to them. I believe that dogs are such amazing animals and they deserve the best care!! I work part time right now and do online school at the same time so my schedule is quite flexible. I drive and have a mini suv so if need be I can transport your dog and even take them to vet visits! I am able to check on your dogs throughout the day whether it’s to take them outside, feed them, or take them on a walk.
About: I have had dogs and taken care of dogs since I was a kid. I love all creatures and will pamper your pup! I know how important it is for dogs to feel safe and cared for while their owners are away and will give your dog all the love and attention it needs! I have a very flexible schedule which allows me plenty of time to spend taking care of your pet. When I do work, it's only for a few hours at a time, so I can stick with your dog's routine for eating and walking and such. I have a fenced yard with a bit of grass and one small senior dog who gets along with dogs and cats. I don't mind dogs on the couch and we have a cute park down the road for walks and outside play time.
About: With 25 years of animal care experience, a deep love for animals, a flexible schedule, and excellent references, I'll meet all of your pet care needs. Educated and empathetic, I 'get' people and their animals, and enjoy providing the same level of care that I give my own beloved dog. I'll always bend over backward to ensure that both you and your pet have a wonderful experience. Pet-sitting is a choice for me, and one that I'm making because I love to meet and care for animals. I look forward to making your day or week better by caring for your pet and/or your home while you are away. If there's anything I can do to make your day easier, just ask! I look forward to meeting you! I have a flexible work schedule, and I’m able to work at home whenever I like. I love to get out and run and walk, and can provide just about any breed as much exercise as they need. Unfortunately, my building has some breed restrictions including pit bulls and wolf breeds. I’m happy to look after all breeds for housesitting and walks. I only take one dog at a time into my home, unless it is a bonded pair. I do strongly prefer a meet and greet before hand so we can make sure it is a good fit, both for your pup and for my home. I am committed to making this a positive experience for all of us.I love dogs and will care for your dog as though it were my own.
About: I currently have three dogs, one is a puppy the other is a senior. All through my life I grew up around 5 ferrets some who needed special treatments. I saved 3 hamsters who died of old age in my care. Understanding cues that animals need are something I have gotten great at, I believe they know what they need to thrive in the condition avaliable. Pet care fits in my schedule because I am currently unemployed, I will be in college but will be back and forth due to classes not touching. Care for the pets is not up to me. Whatever instruction the owner has I will obey throughly. The owner knows best and I am there to ensure a safe ans nurturing environment while away. However keeping a close eye, check ups to see what the pets are up to, and breaks for their needs is what I will deliver.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in La Quinta. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
