“Ana Karen did a wonderful job taking care of our Goldendoodle. She was attentive, sent several pictures throughout the day, and made sure the stay was comfortable. I will definitely use her again.”

About: I am a cat mom to a bengal cat named Tango. Tango’s favorite activities include playing fetch, taking walks along the Seine (he’s just returned from 2 years in Paris) and play dates with his homies Hammy & Otie (dogs). 🫶🏼 Tango aspires to be a Royal Canin model. We live in a house in La Quinta with a fenced yard, great for playing and exercise while confined. Residential neighborhood near old town and the park. Great area for walks, safe and clean. I mostly work from home, unless I have to travel. Otherwise I am available all hours and can schedule according to your pets specific needs. I care for all pets the same way I would want my kitty cared for. My cat is like my child, he has a very unique personality and style that I have fostered since I got him. I approach each animal according to their unique personality and their owner’s caretaking style.
“Perfect reason why this service is so good. Booked and used without any trouble, Michelle was super nice, accommodating and responsive. Sent me updates and made me feel like our little dog was well taken care of while we were golfing. I highly recommend her.”

“Our puppy Moby loves Katie and would run up to her when he sees her. Katie is always willing to care for Moby whenever we need her, even on short notice. She communicates with us during Moby’s stay with her, with pictures and comments about how he’s doing. We love Katie too because she is a caring lady who loves our puppy as much as we do.”

“I’m so happy to have tried Rover for the first time and Diane was wonderful! It was so nice to enjoy a full day out with friends and to not worry about Griffon. When we come back for a visit to La Quinta, I will definitely reach out to Diane again. Thank you so much!”

“Our big girl Bee had a fabulous vacation at the Brandon and Billy “resort!” This is the second time they have cared for Bee while we enjoy the tennis tournament and it hopefully won’t be the last. They are wonderful with her.”

“Natalie watched our Siberian Husky mix twice while we explored Joshua Tree Nat’l Park. She was awesome to work with and took great care of our older dog, who is on a few meds. We received several pictures each day and Blance was clearly happy when we picked her up and super excited when we dropped her off the second day, so we know she had a great experience.”

“My husband took Rocky over to Joan's house to see how he would do prior to an upcoming trip. This was the first time we left him with someone other than family and I can't thank Joan enough for the pictures. It relieved a lot of stress for me and I know he will be in great hands when we are out of town for several days. Thanks again Joan, see you next week!! Colleen”

“Don was excellent -- he accommodated our schedule at the last moment and looked after our friendly (but protective) German Shepherd pup as if it were his own. Thank you Don!!!”

About: I've had 2 dogs my whole life. Both which lived over 10 years each. I've also taken care of my daughters 3 labs since they were puppies. I am retired and live in a casita so I can give all my attention to your fur babies. I'm available most of the time since I'm retired. I love walking everyday everywhere . Please feel free to contact me anytime. Monday through Friday are the best days for me. I don't have any dogs so I don't have to worry about that. And your dog will be safe with me in my secured house.
“I felt really comfortable leaving Aya with Jackson. He is clearly a very experienced dog sitter and I couldn’t have been happier with his service. He also kept me updated throughout my dog’s stay which was great. I will 100% contact Jackson the next time I am in the area.”

About: My father raised black labs for hunting so I’ve been around dogs my entire life. This last year is the first year I haven’t had a dog as I lost the last of my pack of five Thanksgiving 2023. Before I commit to another I thought I would give my puppy love to others’ pets. My children are allergic to cats so I can’t sit cats unless you have the hairless versions. I live on a gorgeous golf course where I can walk your dog (s). Due to my children’s (grandchildren’s) allergies I do prefer dogs who are hypoallergenic. If your dog can swim, we can exercise in the pool but I also have a safety gate around the pool if they can’t swim (for my grands). I spoil my pets so if you don’t want that you better tell me in advance! I have my own business and make my own hours . Your pet will be my priority and buddy while they are with me. The longest time I would be gone is two hours for a mahjong game if I’m sitting during the winter months. I will care for your dogs the way you want them to be cared for. My dogs had free range of the house when I was home. When I was gone they were crated mostly because of the alarm system. I play music for them when I’m gone too. At night, if they don’t shed, they are welcome to sleep in the bed. If they shed, they can sleep on the floor on a cushy pad next to me. If they are used to being crated then I will crate them. Please bring the crate they are used to, as I have donated my crates. I still have lots of dog beds but love the excuse to get more.
“Patrick and Caroline took great care of our dog for a few hours at their home in a gated community. They were quick to respond to email exchanges. They also sent us a photo. My dog was so relaxed in their care.”

“Jill is an awesome dog sitter and great person! Our golden retriever pup loves staying with her, so my husband and I get time to go out and play golf! Hard to get our dog to leave her house at the end of the day. Jill is gentle with our dog , who loves to play and cuddle with Jill. I would highly recommend Jill to care for you per!❤️ She is a gem.”

About: Since growing up I have had dogs, take care of my friends dogs and know the importance for a dog to be out and social. I would like to help those that work and do not have time to give your doggie attention. Adding a pup to my daily life would be a fun addition to my routine. I have a fenced house, and will be home with your pets. I have open space and live close to areas that can take dogs out.
“Brandon is an excellent caregiver for pets. He's responsive, reliable and most important. My dogs really liked him and felt comfortable and safe. Thank you so much we appreciate it.”

About: I got my first pet when I was six years old. Since then, I have been taking care of dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and fish for over 15 years. My friends, family, and neighbors rely on me to feed their pets, take them on walks, bathe them and even trim their nails, if needed. I love all pets and enjoy taking care of them as if they were my own. I can fit your schedule anytime with a week’s notice. For walks, mornings are more favorable due to weather conditions. For emergency care, one day advance would be preferred. I have a fenced yard where your dogs can play outside on the grass or they can enjoy indoor play with cool A/C. They’ll have their own room or they can be crated if needed.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your La Quinta commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
