“We were able to book Jackson last minute when our original fell through! Our guy seemed to have a ton of fun and had no problem going right into Jackson’s house! We would for sure use him again if needed!”

About: I am a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience. I grew up on a ranch with dogs, horses, and an entire 'ark' of farm animals. I offer pet sitting in my own home. I can take more than one dog if they are from the same owner. I currently do not have pets so my time is entirely devoted to your pet. I also offer care for your home should you need someone to drop in to water plants, view property, and gather mail. Happy to meet you and your pup for introductory welcome. "I currently enjoy a fully flexible schedule, making me available whenever you need me most — including last minute requests, weekends, and holidays. Whether you need recurring visits or spontaneous coverage, I am ready and happy to help." "Your pet receives attentive, loving care in my home with regular walks and potty breaks. I follow your exact routines, schedules, and habits while adding an extra layer of love."
“Katie was very flexible and patient with my timing. I truly appreciated that because it was a hectic day. My dog was well taken care of and safe with a responsible person. Calixto was happy when I picked him up. This is very important for anyone who considers their dog part of the family, Katie is a life saver for me!”

“Jennifer was an amazing dog sitter for Coco. Jennifer’s dog, Stella, was playful, and the two dogs got along wonderfully. It was great knowing Coco had a fun companion to play with. I can tell Jennifer was very attentive and made the whole experience easy and stress-free. I could tell Coco was well loved and cared for. I highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!”

“Brandon is an excellent caregiver for pets. He's responsive, reliable and most important. My dogs really liked him and felt comfortable and safe. Thank you so much we appreciate it.”

“The pups were happy to see Sierra and family when we arrived and just as happy at the end of the day! We are practicing for a longer stay and I’m completely comfortable with leaving the 3 pups with her. I’m so grateful to have found Sierra!”

“Shayna did a great job pet sitting our little Yorkie. We were attending the tennis tournament and she was very flexible with drop off and pick k up. After a day our Yorkie was running to Shayna's house not even looking back at us. I will definitely use her again when we are 8n the area”

About: I've been caring for pets for over 10 years, and it's genuinely one of my favorite things to do. In that time, I've looked after just about every kind of animal you can think of — dogs and cats of all ages, puppies, seniors, small mammals, birds, reptiles, and more. The only ones I haven't worked with are horses! I'm comfortable with medication administration (pills, liquids, eye drops, injections), special needs care, and adapting routines for pets who need a little extra patience. I've cared for rescue dogs still learning to trust people, helped a senior dog through a UTI by spotting the symptoms early and coordinating with the owner, and stayed calm when a dog in my care was unexpectedly attacked by another dog on a walk — I got him to the vet quickly and he made a full recovery. I don't have pets of my own right now, but on most days I'm out walking, feeding, or hanging out with someone else's. Your pet will get attentive care, plenty of affection, and an honest set of eyes on how they're doing day to day. If you need your dogs walked Monday through Friday, I will gladly try to accommodate my schedule for you. Happy to help on the weekends if I can! I do my best to make your pets feel comfortable with me and treat them with kindness. I believe in being patient with the pets I look after.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all sizes since I was a young girl, and animals have always been a natural part of my life. I’ve rescued dogs throughout my adulthood and loved every breed, personality, and quirky soul that’s come my way. Even cats — despite my allergies — tend to walk right up to me, which always makes me smile. I’ll still care for them with love (and a little help from allergy meds). I’m an empath with a deep, intuitive connection to animals. Nervous, shy, senior, or sensitive pets usually relax around me quickly. I read their body language, respect their boundaries, and create a calm, predictable environment where they feel safe and understood. I also bring professional caregiving skills to my pet care. As a retired massage therapist and longtime caregiver, I can offer gentle pet massage, calming touch, and support for aging, compassionate end of life care and support or anxious dogs. I’m comfortable providing wound care, administering medications, and injections for diabetic animal when needed. What truly sets me apart is the combination of lifelong love of animals, my experience, intuition, and genuine compassion. Your pet will be cared for with patience, warmth, and the same steady presence I’ve brought to every animal I’ve loved. I create a calm, predictable environment where pets feel safe, understood, and cared for in my Home or Yours. I will respect your home, your space, your privacy and the trust you placed in me.
“Jill is an awesome dog sitter and great person! Our golden retriever pup loves staying with her, so my husband and I get time to go out and play golf! Hard to get our dog to leave her house at the end of the day. Jill is gentle with our dog , who loves to play and cuddle with Jill. I would highly recommend Jill to care for you per!❤️ She is a gem.”

“Angie was amazing! We contacted her on short notice and she graciously agreed to watch our Cavachon for two afternoons. Angie is a true dog lover, sent us pictures during the days and went on some nice short hikes with our pooch. Can’t say enough good things! Thanks, Angie!”

“Bobby always has a blast with Matt and his pack. There are usually a couple dog pals for him to play with and he’s always beaming after his visits. Matt takes good care of our furry babies and is flexible when it comes to scheduling. Would definitely recommend!”

“Our big girl Bee had a fabulous vacation at the Brandon and Billy “resort!” This is the second time they have cared for Bee while we enjoy the tennis tournament and it hopefully won’t be the last. They are wonderful with her.”

“Rico Suave absolutely LOVED Tanya. She was very accommodating with our drop off and pick up times moving around. Rico is very attached to us and cries when we drop him off, but Tanya wasx very understanding. The best part was meeting her dog Georgie who is the sweetest chunk ever!!! Rico was very happy to share his chicky-chicky-din-din with him. We would recommend Tanya and Georgie to anyone visiting lovely Palm Desert. Thank you Tanya and Georgie!!! We will be back.”

“This was our first time using Rover, and we were beyond impressed!!! Tetyana was absolutely the BEST!! She was super amenable, and was able to pick-up and drop-off our sweet, little dachshund to and from our hotel while we were in town for a wedding. Our dog Wren loved her time with Tetyana and came home each night so happy! She was wonderful and attentive and sent photos throughout our dogs stay. We highly recommend Tetyana!!! Thank you so much!!!!! You made our weekend GREAT!! :)”

About: I had a golden retriever for 13 years that I lost last year. I love animals with all my heart and would love to spend as much time with all pets as a I can. I cared for and trained my dog his whole life, especially in his old age before his passing. I also have babysat for many years, and have experience with kids and pets alike as a result. I’m a college student at USC working a remote internship while I stay with my parents this summer. As a result, I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule and would love to work with you to create a working schedule! We have a fenced front/backyard with a pool. If you would like, I can keep your pets only in the front yard for playing if you would like them away from the pool. We have a large yard and a large house with plenty of room for your pet to play!
About: Hi, we’re Graham and Erin! We’re passionate pet lovers with experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and energy levels. Whether your pup loves walks, hikes, swimming, or playdates at the park, we’re here to make their time with us safe, fun, and full of love. We live in a cozy apartment with a potty park featuring green grass, shady spots, and friendly neighbors—perfect for quick potty breaks or outdoor lounging. Our motto is simple: their stay, their way! Your furry friend sets the pace during our walks, and we’re here to ensure they safely enjoy themselves. If they’re comfortable with it, they might even join us on a walk with another pup for some extra socializing! Have specific requests or routines? Just let us know! We want to make their stay as comfortable and familiar as possible. They’re welcome to snuggle on our bed or couch, but we’ll follow your preferences if you’d rather they didn’t. We always keep fresh water available and strive to keep every dog happy, healthy, and loved. A little about our household: We share our home with a sweet, friendly white boxer who gets along great with both dogs and people. If your pup is shy or you prefer them to be boarded solo, that’s no problem—just let us know! We can safely board 1–3 dogs at a time and prioritize creating a stress-free environment for everyone. Want a little extra pampering? We’d be happy to give your pup a bath during their stay—just bring along their shampoo, especially if they have sensitive skin. Let’s set up a meet-and-greet! We’d love to get to know you and your fur baby. Can’t wait to play fetch and make some tails wag! I work Monday through Thursday, but I’m fully available Friday through Sunday to care for your pup. My wife, Erin, is home all week and has a flexible schedule, so your dog will always have someone available to look after your pups! I have a fenced off yard, green grass, plenty of shade, friendly neighbors, and cozy home with dog beds to lounge on and toys to play with. My brother and girlfriend who have also been loving animals just as much as I have, are here to help supervise and give them all the attention they need to keep their tails wagging.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cahuilla Hills
We are vacationing for 2 months in the Palm Desert area and needed to find a good dog sitter for our Labrador for a few days and a couple overnights. We found Tanya!! She is great with our dog (more on that) and even greater with us and our sporadic schedule. It has been so easy to schedule with Tanya. She has been very accommodating as we don’t always know what time we will get back to pick up our girl and Tanya has been very flexible. As for our dog’s experience, it’s clear she loves “getting to go” to Tanya’s. When we get out of the car, she runs to the door and wags her tail until Tanya opens the door. Then the fun begins!! Tanya has truly enhanced our vacation and our dog’s as well!!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Cahuilla Hills commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
