She was kind enough to meet my dog beforehand to make sure it was a good fit—and my dog loved her instantly. She even rolled over for belly rubs, which she never does for anyone new! While I was away, Claudia sent me tons of photos and videos, which made me feel so connected. I had left very specific door-training instructions (my dog must sit before the door is opened, and the hallway must be cleared before the release command). Even my Brita was filled to the top! And the sweetest surprise of all: it was my dog’s birthday while I was away, and Claudia threw her a mini birthday party. She sent me photos of my dog in rainbow birthday hats, a princess sash, with balloons and a new toy. It meant the world to me to see someone else celebrate my dog with so much love. She also shared the cutest little updates, like how my dog would wake up around 2 or 3 a.m., give her a kiss, then go back to bed. It’s the small details like that that showed me she truly cared and kept our routine. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My dog adored her, and I’ve already recommended Claudia to my coworkers. I’ll definitely be hiring her again—not just for overnight stays but for occasional walks too, so they can keep their sweet bond going.”

Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine now that I no longer work remotely. I have dedicated availability and flexibility to focus fully on pets throughout the day, allowing me to provide attentive care, regular walks, playtime, feedings, and check-ins without distractions. This schedule lets me be present, reliable, and responsive to each pet’s needs rather than fitting care around a work-from-home schedule. I care for pets with the same attention and respect whether they’re in my home or in a client’s home, always following the pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I stick to feeding schedules, walking routines, playtime, and rest periods to keep pets comfortable and reduce stress. I keep their environment clean and safe, provide plenty of affection and supervision, and closely monitor behavior, appetite, and energy levels so I can quickly address any concerns and keep owners informed.

“We were very fortunate that Lauren had time in her schedule when we had to make a last- minute trip. She took amazing care of our elderly dogs, assorted birds, and fish. She sent us lots of pics of our very contented dogs snoozing, eating, and on their walks. She handled their special diets and supplements like a pro and even cleaned up a bit, plus watered our many plants, and took out the garbage and recycling. She is so responsible and caring—truly a gem!”

About: I am a lifelong animal lover with six years of experience. I volunteered at the SPCA of Monterey County for 124 hours and currently work at a local Animal Center in San Diego. I am comfortable with dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes, and energy levels. I treat every pup like my own family, ensuring that they get plenty of love, exercise, and attention while you are away. I currently work at an animal shelter/center. I work 8 hour shifts 4 days of the week (days vary). The other days I spend taking dog & house sitting jobs or babysitting jobs. During the days I am at the animal shelter I leave the house at 10am and return at 7pm. On days I am not at the shelter I stay at the house with your pup and the maximum time I’d be away is 3 hours a day (unless told otherwise by owner). Dogs will get daily walks, meals, and meds (if needed) as instructed by their owner. I try to include the dogs in my daily activities. For example, choosing to sit with them while I reply to work emails or answer work calls.

About: I have two dogs of my own, and have grown up my entire life around animals. I've done work in equine care and facilitating young children around animals. I am a full time college student so I do have classes that I have to attend. I am available all day weekends and Fridays.
