“The cats seemed happier and less stressed this trip. Appreciated extra help with bringing in a package and garbage can without being asked. She sent pictures of all 3 kittys in some of their favorite but hard to find hiding places, even under our bed. Instead of leaving the keys under the front door mat where someone might find them before we got home, she messaged me she'll drop them off when we're home. I would highly recommend Kylee if you're looking for someone who gives the best pet care but who also cares about things not necessarily expected of her.”

“We recently had the pleasure of leaving our pup, Bella, in the care of Alexis while we were on vacation and we couldn’t be more grateful. Alexis went above and beyond, taking Bella on walks and handling her hyperactive personality with patience, care, and a genuine love for animals. It’s always nerve wracking leaving your pet behind, but Alexis made the whole experience stress-free. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, knowedlege and attentive dog sitter, Alexis is the one!”

About: I have had pets since I was five - birds, dogs, and hamsters, oh my! I was 14 when I started pet sitting and got my first cat (on my own) at 19. I now have four cats and two dogs that I love dearly 💖 I also have experience working at a doggy day care where I cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages. Playful or snuggly, wigglebutt or leaner, chaos incarnate or zen - I loved every dog that came into that daycare! I have cared for senior cats and dogs as well as puppies and kittens. I'm the one at parties sitting on the floor snuggling the dog; the one who spends new year's and 4th of July singing to her anxious fur babies to drown out the fireworks; and the one who will have full conversations with any dog or cat that will listen! TLDR I LOVE all animals and would love to take care of your fur baby as if they were my own 💖 I work from home and have a fairly flexible schedule, and can work around your/your pet's schedule! I can be available for quick drop ins or longer hang outs if your pets are very needy (like mine) 😊 I also can have doggos hang out at my house in the afternoon/evening Tuesday-Saturday if that is preferred! Since I WFH they will have constant supervision. I have a fenced in yard with lots of space for zoomies, and two high enery dogs to keep your pup company! I have cats, but they are in a separate area of the house that the dogs don't have access to. When at your home, I make sure to adapt to your pet's environment and make them as comfortable with me as possible. I let them come to me and watch/listen for signals that they need something different from me.
“I loved the several pictures and the last minute availability. Benji is my child in dog form and it felt safe and comfortable. She did not feel like a stranger and I’m very happy with the drop in service I got. Will 100% have her over again!”

About: I have had pets my entire life and understand how important it is to know they are being well taken care of. I love all animals and would love to take care of your family member(s)! I recently retired and am learning how to navigate all the free time I now have. I have been a pet/animal lover my entire life. I look forward to caring for your family member. I will make sure that your instructions/preferences are adhered to and that everything is handled to your satisfaction and expectations.
“Kate was great! This was a short notice booking and she answered the call with flying colors. The dogs liked her very much and were very relaxed around her. Will not hesitate to book with her again.”

“I’m so appreciative of them for pet sitting my cat while I was out of town. I could not recommend their services more to anyone looking for someone to look after their pet. They’re attentive, communicative, and well organized. I look forward to hopefully working with them again :-)”

About: Hello! I am a pet lover who grew up with Boston terriers from ages 10-12 (20+). I also grew up working with dogs (Border Collies) on ranches, working side by side on various tasks. Because of my experience and comfort with dogs, I have been dog-sitting for friends and family my whole life. I have some experience caring for cats, including my sisters' and friends' cats (5+ years). I am very active and can exercise or entertain your pet with play or runs. I have rarley met a dog that I wasn't able to build trust with. I am a graduate student whose internship starts on the 27th of July. So I have complete availability then. Outside of that, I am typically free after 5 pm on weekdays and completely free on weekends. I ensure to follow all the rules the pet owner has established. I will use commands and language the dog is familiar with to avoid confusion. I make sure the pets are exercised 2-3 times a day. Cleaned and brushed if needed. I am mindful of water intake and make sure that all pets are kept on their usual schedule.
“Megan was so communicative before and during our trip. She generously accommodated some last minute travel changes on our end. Most importantly, she took such good care of our babies and really loved on them.”

“Nicole is the best!! She is truly the nicest and sweetest person you will meet .Our dogs loved her!! She went over and beyond expectations. We would definitely recommend her if you are looking for a awesome dog sitter.”

“Katie took care of our cat while we were gone, she did amazing! She went above and beyond to make sure Mouse was cared for, and happy. We will definitely be getting ahold of Katie next time we are on vacation. Highly recommend her! ?”
“Saige did a wonderful job watching my babies! She brought my packages inside that were delivered while I was away, took my garbage out, and generally just went above and beyond. I will definitely book with her again and am so grateful to have had such a sweet trustworthy sitter. I recommend her highly.”

About: My name is Katie and I am a doctoral student studying Industrial and Organizational Psychology. I am hoping to start up a non-profit senior dog rescue sanctuary in the near future. I have loved dogs since I was a baby. I grew up with all kind of dogs from Irish Setter to Gordon Settler to Lab to Cocker Spaniels. Now I’m raising 5 years old border collie and 3 years old black lab. I am usually free in late afternoons, evenings and on the weekends. I do also work from home and can adjust my schedule a little bit if you need me during the day. When I’m not in school or working, I enjoys reading, walking and geeking out at the museums. Please feel free to reach out anytime if you have questions. I look forward to hear from you! During the weekdays, I usually take dogs out for potty every two to three hours and I would take them out for a walk in morning, during lunch break, and in evening. I usually give two meals a day (morning and evening) and set a time aside to play with them. I live in a house and have two friendly dogs that can play with your puppy. I also have a crate in case your dog needs to be crated. My home also has a huge backyard for the dogs to play in. For safety reasons, I prefer to supervise the dogs while they are in the backyard.

I ,also, was an in home pet sitter for many years, I have administered medications, know about special diets and understand all dogs, and cats, have different personalities and require a different approach. Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Picture Rocks. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
