Kristen did an amazing job caring for our cat twice a day for two weeks, including administering multiple medications! She was dependable and thoughtful. She reached out to us with any questions or concerns she had before and during our trip. She sent photos from every visit. We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing our cat was safe with her. I would absolutely book her again in the future!

Got back in town from a week long trip to find a couple happy dogs and clean house. I'm so thankful for Ali taking care of my babies. Always was on time always got picture updates I didn't worry about them as much because of it. Highly recommend booking with him. Super nice guy, will be hiring him again! Thanks Ali!

Andrea took great care of my cats while I was away over night. She was very professional and clearly cares about animals and making sure that their people feel comfortable and reassured. She kept me updated, and I wasn’t worried for a moment while I was gone.

Eliza and I met before she started the pet care so I could give her the instructions in person - that was very nice - which she followed well. I have a very senior cat and the care "manual" is pretty detailed and important. I was happy to come home to see my elder cat happy :)

Kara was amazing! She took the time to come over first and meet the pups and ask all the detailed questions (ie food times, what happens if they run out of food, potty breaks, etc). She was understanding when I mentioned our little pup tends to have some accidents when we’re gone. She sent 15+ pictures daily and was very communicative. Our two pups ended up having a tiff one day and she called me immediately after to let me know what had happened and that both dogs are okay. She then kept me posted on their behavior and made it a point to play with them separately to hopefully reduce the risk of them acting out again. She documented every single food, water break, and potty break they each had. It was so comforting knowing Kara was taking such good care of our pups while we were out of town across the country. I highly highly recommend Kara and will be booking with her again!

About: i've been dog-sitting for 4 years now, I have worked at many houses in the San Jose area in California. I have done cat-sitting for my neighbors and dog walking in Ashland. I am free to work many hours and I would love to take care of your pets! I am in grad school at SOU through June of 2027, and I will be student teaching for much of it. I am available for more hours in the afternoons once school is out and before classes begin. Classes for me are only twice a week, and I will make sure to fit in a walk before it gets dark. My home has one cat, and I grew up with a dog, so I know how to take care of both of these animals. I always lock the door before leaving the house, and I check to make sure I know where my animals are at all times when I am home. I am comfortable feeding pets, giving them water, and giving them medicine if needed. I also know how much quality time means to pets, so I can spend extra time with pets after walks.

Heidi was fantastic. My cats are pretty picky and they took to Heidi quickly. She also reached out immediately when there was a medical concern for one of my cats and offered to go back and check on her. She also checked in the next morning to see how my cat was doing, which was very sweet.

About: I've been taking care of my own dogs since I was a child and have regularly helped neighbors and family friends with their cats and dogs while they were away- even my friend's mice while they were traveling and my previous roommate's three rats. I'm home from college for the summer and would love to spend my time with your pets! I have a very flexible daily schedule that can adapt to the needs of your pet. My parents have two dogs, one of which is very loving but does not handle other dogs very well. Because of this, I'm not comfortable bringing pets back to my home, but I am very willing to come to your pets to take care of and spend time with them. I am available for shorter drop-in visits, with feeding, play time, and/or walks, as well as longer visits and overnight stays with your pet.

About: From the moment I was born, I grew up surrounded by dogs and caring for them has always been second nature. Today, I combine decades of hands on experience with holistic healing tools to offer truly unique, heart centered pet care in Ashland and other parts of the Rogue Valley. I specialize in anxious dogs and dogs who cannot be left alone. I know how stressful it can be for both pets and their humans when separation anxiety is part of the picture. That is why I build my care around calm energy, predictable routines, and constant companionship. If I need to step out and you have approved it, I will bring your dog with me. Otherwise, I will never leave them alone for longer than three hours. I am also a Reiki Master and Emotion Code Practitioner which means I do not just care for pets physically, I also support their emotional and energetic well being. I often provide gentle Reiki sessions to dogs during my stays, helping them release anxiety and find balance. If your pup loves the outdoors, I am always thrilled to take them on hikes with your permission. Fresh air and exercise are some of my favorite ways to bond with dogs. I. Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Phoenix stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Phoenix. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 91% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
