“Perfect Fit, Ashley kept us well informed of our pet doggy and took great care of her the whole time she was at our house, we will definitely use her great services again!”
“Destiny was amazing with our dogs! We have 3 dogs which can be a handful at times but she took great care of them. Put my mind at ease day 1 of our trip. Highly recommend and will be booking again in future!”

“Lexie was great with our boy! She stayed at our house (and was immaculately clean) - but more importantly took great care of our dog. She sent regular pics and updates and gave us peace of mind. He is an aging dog with specific needs and she took amazing care of him.”

“We had a fantastic experience with our Iyris! She took such great care of our two dogs and kept us updated the whole time with photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved when we got home. It’s obvious she truly cares about animals and go the extra mile to make sure pets feel comfortable and cared for. We would absolutely trust Iyris again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!”

“Thank you so much for house sitting our 2 dogs! The house was just as we left it, and Kory was wonderful. She kept us updated regularly with photos on our babies while we were out of town for 4 nights. I look forward to calling her in the future next time we need help!”

“Mindy was wonderful! At our meet and greet she was so organized. Wrote everything down about my dogs needs. When she left I felt so comfortable having her in my home watching my pups. Mindy watched them over the 4th weekend, I knew how one would act cause we've been through fireworks for 6 years but it was the first for my high anxiety German shepherd/Belgian Malinois that I adopted 5 months ago. Well I guess he didn't like them to much, but she was there trying to calm him down the whole time. Mindy kept me updated and let me know when he finally settled down. I couldn't be happier for the care my River and Rumor received. I highly highly recommend Mindy. .”

“Amazing dog sitter for my senior dogs! She was patient, caring, and truly understood their needs. Both of my dogs absolutely love her. I felt at ease knowing they were in great hands. I would happily use her again for in-home dog sitting.”

“Shelby was so amazing!! She was so attentive, answered our texts right away, and did everything we we asked of her. She left the house very clean and tidy when she left. Gator absolutely loved her, we swear he was sad when we got home because it wasn’t Shelby. Thank you Shelby and we’ll be booking her again soon!”

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life. I currently work as a Kennel Assistant at an animal clinic, where I care for dogs and cats every day. This professional experience has strengthened my skills in handling pets of different breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities while paying close attention to their comfort, safety, and daily routines. I also have a degree in Biology from Moscow State University and hands-on experience training service dogs. At home, I have two dogs of my own—a French Bulldog and a Chihuahua—and over the years I’ve cared for many other breeds as well. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, medication reminders, or simply a calm and caring companion, I’ll treat them with the same attention and respect I give my own pets. My goal is for every dog or cat to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I’m organized, dependable, and able to plan my schedule around the needs of the pets in my care. I always make sure each pet gets the time, attention, and consistency they need. I’m attentive to routines, feeding schedules, potty breaks, and each pet’s personality and comfort level. I want every pet to feel as relaxed and cared for as possible. Working in a veterinary clinic has also taught me to recognize changes in a pet’s behavior or condition and respond calmly and appropriately if something seems unusual.
“Sadie did a wonderful job house sitting! She spent lots of time at the house giving daily updates and photos of our pets. It was easy to relax for a week away knowing the house was well taken care of. The yard and house were clean and the pets were both very happy when we got home. I would book with Sade again and highly recommend to friends and family.”

About: While I’m new to Rover, I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life and have always been a big dog lover. In 2022, my family got our dog Roxi, who is like my best friend. With Roxi, I’ve been fully involved in everything, walking her, feeding her, training her, and making sure she stays active and happy. I’ve also grown up helping to look after family dogs when relatives go away, so I’m used to different personalities and routines. I’m originally from Ireland and recently moved to Florida after completing my MBA at Marshall University in West Virginia. I now coach youth soccer, so I’m very active, responsible, and used to being around people (and animals) all the time. Moving to the U.S. has been a big change for me, and being away from my family and my own dog has definitely made me miss them a lot, and it’s made me appreciate even more how much I love being around dogs every day. I’d say I’m quite laid-back, reliable, and easy to get along with. I like being outdoors, staying active, and I’m always up for a walk or keeping a dog company rather than just sitting around. I’m also very respectful of people’s homes and routines, and I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I know how much dogs mean to their owners because mine means everything to me, so I always treat every dog like they’re part of my own family. I’m happy to send updates and photos as well, so owners feel completely comfortable while they’re away. Right now, I coach soccer in the evenings during the week and sometimes on weekends, usually for a couple of hours. Outside of that, my schedule is very flexible. I’m generally available in the mornings, afternoons, and often evenings for walks, drop-ins, and house sitting. My coaching hours are not long, so I’m able to work around pet care easily and adjust my schedule when needed. I take care of pets in their own homes so they can stay comfortable in a familiar environment. I make sure they’re well looked after with things like feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, and giving medication if needed. I also keep things clean and stick to their usual routine as much as possible. I always spend time with the pets too, whether that’s playing with them or just keeping them company so they don’t feel lonely while you’re away. I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you know how they’re doing. I treat every pet like my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for the whole time.
“I could not have asked for better last-minute care for my stressed out pups, than Sayla. She was punctual, professional, adored my dogs and asked all the right questions, was super honest about everything going on. She went above and beyond —several visits beforehand and extra care once settled in—and you can tell she sincerely loves dogs and their welfare and making them comfortable is her top priority. I would recommend Sayla in a heartbeat!”

“Andy is beyond awesome!!! As soon as he met Mayer, our 8 year old English bulldog, we knew he was going to be fine. He jumped into his arms and that was that! Mayer had never been left with anyone since he was a baby. Where we go, he goes! This time was different. We drove from Georgia to attend our daughter's graduation. Andy became Mayer's new best friend. Mayer doesn't do hot weather. Andy came prepared for all of it. They watched movies, walked in his stroller, played, and ate together.Andy had pizza and Mayer had his burger and cookie. He was very happy and Andy treated him like a king! Andy sent pictures and updates. I think Mayer was sad that he couldn't bring his new friend home with him! Mayer gets what Mayer wants! Leaving with 2 bits of information: 1. If you are lucky enough to get Andy to sit for you, there will be no worries! 2. Andy does not charge enough for what he gives to our treasured babies! (He stayed from 12:00-10:20 with him.) Too bad there are only 5 stars! He needs 10! Maybe Andy will share some pictures.”

About: I have had 2-4 pets in my home for my entire life and they have always been cared for lovingly and well. I am consistently trusted to check in on or dog/house sit for family and friends. I am a college student home for the summer so I have full availability during days and nights. I am willing to overnight sit and drop in throughout the day. I have a fenced in yard and two small elderly dogs. They are crate trained and can stay separate from the dogs I am dog sitting if needed. They are friendly and low energy. All size dogs welcome for my services!
“Zed enjoyed his staycation immensely. He was spoiled rotten and got to do all the fun things. Now I wonder if he's secretly hoping I'll leave again, which is better than him getting depressed when I'm gone. Communication was good and the house is just as I left it.”

I can’t say enough great things about Mason! From the moment we connected, I felt completely at ease leaving my pup in her care. She is incredibly attentive, responsible, and clearly loves what she does. She sent regular updates, photos, and little notes about how things were going, which meant so much while I was away. Penni looked happy, relaxed, and so well cared for the entire time. It’s such a relief to know there’s someone I can fully trust with my pet. I would absolutely recommend Mason to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and professional dog sitter. We will definitely be booking with her again!
Laura was absolutely amazing with my bougie boys. They responded to her well, would rub up against her (which they don't do for my husband). It was my first time using a pet sitter and I will definately reach out to her again. The house was in perfect shape upon our return, she even checked in to ensure our flight was on time in case she needed to go back over for another feeding.

Morgan was great with our Dogs and Cats. She kept me updated. My dog is afraid of storms and she laid with her through the storm. I came home and my pets were calm and happy when I returned. They loved her from the moment she walked in at the meet and greet. Morgan become a friend more than a sitter. Morgan is the best!

We booked Brittany last minute after multiple no shows for meet and greets or incorrect availability listed from other sitters. Sometimes things work out for the best as she was amazing with our dogs in an extended overnight stay in our home. She took great care of the dogs, left the house extremely clean and constantly communicated and sent pictures. We will definitely be reaching out to her again when we need help with our babies.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Palm Shores walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Palm Shores maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Palm Shores choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
