“Dorothy was a wonderful pet sitter for my finicky cat, Darcy! She always gave information on how she was doing and made me feel confident that my baby was doing well while I was gone.”

“Danielle is awesome!!!! She did such a great job at looking after our three cats. Normally when we come back from trips our animals are mad at us. Not this time! They are all happy and satisfied because they were looked after so well. Thank you Danielle!!”

“Cyndy can handle shy cats! I was worried at first because our cat likes to hide and is generally afraid of everything. By about three days in, Cyndy was able to feed her and had no problems. She did a great job overall.”

“I was very nervous about leaving my blind 16 yo kitty with Chronic Kidney Disease. I canceled my last vacation 4 months ago because he was declining. Just prior to this very short trip, he had barely been eating. Isabella followed my special feeding instructions perfectly. I came home to a kitty who was very happy to see me and vice versa. Thank you Isabella!”

“Kory is wonderful with our deaf velcro dog. We were worried leaving him the first time that it would cause him anxiety but he's great! She showed up when she said she would and took excellent care of our furry family members.”

About: I have helped to take care of dogs, cats, and all sorts of different animals, whether they were within my own household or for family and friends. I have had animals in my household my entire life. I have helped to raise and train 6 dogs starting when they were 6 weeks old, and helped with 3 of them while they were seniors until they passed away. I have also helped deliver two litters of Yorkie puppies and one litter of kittens and helped to raise them through their infancy until they could go to their forever homes at about 6-8 weeks old. I have been caring for animals my entire life and truly love making them feel loved and safe. I currently work part time so I would have plenty of time to drop in and hang out with your fur babies! I can stay with them and make sure they get everything they need and get all there energy out! Having had multiple animals throughout my life, I have plenty of experience making sure animals are kept in a safe and secure environment. I also have a lot of knowledge about what foods are dangerous to dogs and cats. I also have experience with dogs in both fenced in environments and walking on a leash.
“Illian was available for my last minute drop in for my cat and she was excellent! My cat can be very skiddish but she made sure to sit with her and try and get her to come out of hiding and play a bit. So glad she was available last minute”

About: I’ve cared for animals all of my life. I have 2 years of experience working in a boarding facility, have volunteered at a local shelter, and have dog & cat sat for friends and family for years. I have a large friendly dog and a friendly cat who get along well with other dogs. As well, I have the free time to make sure that your dog gets the best care so that you can rest assured that they are in good hands. I’ve just moved to the area and am home to care for your dog through out the day. I take my dog out for walks every 2-3 hours starting around 8am every morning. I have plenty of space to walk the dog around, with open grassy areas. I am available through the entire day to attend to the dog. My dog is very friendly and loves to play, he is up to date on vaccines and his flea, tick and heart worm medications.
“Tamara was very quick to respond and was available with very short notice. She kept in communication with me throughout the process and went above and beyond to take great care of my dog. Highly recommended!”

About: I've had pets for many years now, ranging from cats and dogs to fish. I've had experience caring for both senior dogs and cats, as well as kittens and puppies, and pretty much everything in between. I've been able to break through with very shy animals, and am always up for a challenge! I'm a college student, and have classes mostly in the mornings, sometimes running just until noon. I volunteer throughout the week, but I am willing to work around those dates for your pet. I am willing to work with whatever guidelines you may have to keep you pet safe, regarding anything from crating, leashing, outside time, or any other regulations you may have in place.
“Lee Ann was wonderful & easy to communicate with. She kept me up to date with pictures & regular feedback on how my cats were doing. Gave me peace of mind to know they were in good hands.”

About: Need or want EXCLUSIVE, personalized attention for your pet? I only accept dogs from ONE household at a time. Your pet will get on-on-one PERSONAL care in an exclusive environment with NO packed overcrowding here! I love all animals, but I have a special place in my heart for middle aged and senior dogs. As for special needs, I had, in the past, rescued two disabled German Shepherd dogs of my own who needed specialized care and Walking Wheels for their daily mobility. In any case, your fur family will be royally treated here, with reliable outings and walks during the day (every 2 to 4 hours), ample playtime and plenty of affection and neck rubs! In fact, my home, my life and my temperament are all well adapted to caring for your fur family. I work from home and there are no children or pets living here, so I can dedicate my attention 100% to ensuring your beloved pet gets the top-notch vacation stay they deserve while you're away! EXCLUSIVITY is what you can expect here! Over-crowding dogs in a home can be stressful to the animal, that's why I host no more than 3 dogs in my home at any time to be able to provide them the proper attention and an environment they can be happy and thrive in! I believe in Quality over Quantity. After all, why not let your pets stay somewhere they will be tail wagging happy to come back to?! I work from home, and there are no children or pets living here, so I am able to dedicate myself to your precious pup's comfort and happiness. I've cared for my own pets my entire life and have the time and temperament to care for yours. My home and pet services are available on both weekdays as well as weekends, and I only host no more than 3 dogs at a time in my home so you know your pet will not be "lost in the crowd" and will have a condusive environment to thrive in without stress! Providing top tier care for pets is what I choose to do! Reliability, responsibility, pride in my work and a great affinity for animals. This is what you can expect. Dogs love being here! They will be able to explore on area walks, lounge around, and engage in ample playtime. Older dogs will have their required nap time in comfort, too. If you allow relaxing on couches or beds at home, then they will have that opportunity here too. For pet care visits in your home, you can expect all agreed-upon services to be provided. Aside from walks with photo updates, your pups water bowl will be refreshed and filled, any accidental messes cleaned up, and a safety check will be conducted.

We are 1st time users of the Rover app and I have to report, we will be using this service again. Meghan was the best caretaker for our baby. We made arrangements for Meghan to stop in every morning to feed and water our Cat Philly. She even let the baby out every morning on the enclosed lanai to get some sun, which is actually his routine ever morning. She was fantastic with him and he loved her. Thanks again for everything Meghan!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Palm Shores. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
