“Once again having Alexandra care for our two cats was an excellent experience. She is timely, efficient and assesses things well when needed. When we're away we feel very confident in her care of things here. Thank you Alexandra!!”

“Dorothy was a wonderful pet sitter for my finicky cat, Darcy! She always gave information on how she was doing and made me feel confident that my baby was doing well while I was gone.”

“I was very nervous about leaving my blind 16 yo kitty with Chronic Kidney Disease. I canceled my last vacation 4 months ago because he was declining. Just prior to this very short trip, he had barely been eating. Isabella followed my special feeding instructions perfectly. I came home to a kitty who was very happy to see me and vice versa. Thank you Isabella!”

“Kory went passed my expectations, I have never left my baby before and I was so nervous but she reassured me that everything was going to be okay and she really did fulfill everything I wanted and needed for a sitter. Couldn’t have asked for someone better to take care of my fur baby!🩷”

“Jessica took wonderful care of our puppy- punctual, reliable and professional. She communicated well and gave us a peace of mind knowing our puppy was in good hands. I would 100% recommend Jessica!”

“Mindy has been wonderfully patient with my nervous, and overly energetic baby. Seeing my dog get sooo excited to see Mindy a 2nd time was such a gift. Our pup thinks Mindy is now her special friend, there to visit her.”

“Ebony has been a life saver for my family and I! My dogs are getting old and cannot be left home alone for extended period of time without some love and a potty break. She comes to my house every day that I work and does just that. My dogs get excited and meet her at the door, knowing that they are going to get some attention and a well deserved walk around the block. She has even brought over another 4 legged friend for my pups to enjoy some time with! She is very trustworthy, respects your home and your animals, and I cannot recommend her enough.”

“Cyndy is great! She got our very shy cat to come out, and takes great care as well of his more adventurous brother. She provides great updates with photos and follow up details in communication whenever I have questions. Having Cyndy take care of our fur babies makes traveling so much less stressful knowing we don’t need to worry about them when we’re gone.”

“Jackie took great care of my pets. She was very responsive to messages. It was comforting to see videos and photos of my pets every day. She even watered my plants and brought packages and mail inside for me. I highly recommend her for your pets.”

“Victoria is an amazing dog sitter! She came by to check on my dogs while I was away and did a fantastic job. She was so sweet and attentive, making sure they were fed, had water, and got plenty of attention. She even sent me updates to let me know everything was going well, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. It’s clear she loves animals and takes her responsibility seriously. I highly recommend Victoria for anyone needing a reliable and caring dog sitter!”
About: I've had pets for many years now, ranging from cats and dogs to fish. I've had experience caring for both senior dogs and cats, as well as kittens and puppies, and pretty much everything in between. I've been able to break through with very shy animals, and am always up for a challenge! I'm a college student, and have classes mostly in the mornings, sometimes running just until noon. I volunteer throughout the week, but I am willing to work around those dates for your pet. I am willing to work with whatever guidelines you may have to keep you pet safe, regarding anything from crating, leashing, outside time, or any other regulations you may have in place.
“Brianna is an amazing caretaker! Doc loved her so much and she always did a great job with all walks and drop-in visits. Her love and care for our boy was greatly appreciated. We can’t wait to book her for future care!”

“Stacy always takes such good care of my cat. I’ve used her for years and my very shy cat warms right up to her every time I’m away. Your pets are in good hands with Stacy!”

“I’m so happy we found Gerardo to take care of our boys. Ever since the beginning of contact he was very thorough and professional. He asked questions to make sure he was able to give the best care for our pups. He sent pictures and videos for each visit and was in contact with us the whole time. We even ran out of food so he offered to go to petsmart to buy a new bag. He went above and beyond for us and for that we are eternally grateful.”

The median cost per visit for cat sitting in Palm Shores is $20

Stacy was extremely communicative and eased our worries of leaving our kitty home while we were away. She stayed in constant contact with us and shared updates about each visit. If we are ever in need of a rover for our kitty again, Stacy is the ONLY one to call.

We are 1st time users of the Rover app and I have to report, we will be using this service again. Meghan was the best caretaker for our baby. We made arrangements for Meghan to stop in every morning to feed and water our Cat Philly. She even let the baby out every morning on the enclosed lanai to get some sun, which is actually his routine ever morning. She was fantastic with him and he loved her. Thanks again for everything Meghan!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Palm Shores. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
