Renee did an amazing job house sitting for us when we were out of town for New Year's! Renee went above and beyond taking care of Elsker and Kody who were crazy excited to hear that garage door open and go for a walk at least 3 times a day!!! Every day we got a lot of picture and video updates of Elsker and Kody walking, sniffing and even observing a bunny!! Renee not only took care of our fur babies but also took care of the house: the trash was picked up on time and everything in the house was in order, just like we left it. We can't thank Renee enough for taking care of Elsker and Kody and of our house. We will definitely be using Renee's help in the future!

About: Hi! I have had over 10 years of experience with my own fur babies. Both of my girls have crossed the rainbow bridge but we got to enjoy their golden years together, going for walks and soaking up the sun. As my dogs got older I became a pro in distributing oral medications and eye drops. Roxy (my Shih Tzu) also became blind and deaf so I have experience with those disabilities as well. I give exceptional belly rubs, & will give these babies compliments all day long. I do work full time, but I have a pretty flexible schedule. Saturday - Monday my availability is pretty open. Tuesday - Friday I would be available after 5pm. My neighborhood has wonderful with walking trails that we could explore. I also live next door to my aunt who has a super friendly Corgi and is always looking for friends to play with. I do love to snuggle up with a pup on the couch or bed, but do have space for a crate if that would be more comfortable for them.

Rose house sat for us over a weekend and took excellent care of our 12 year old heeler who is a typical cattle dog. She sent prompt updates, photos and stayed on top of his daily insulin medication. We arrived home to a happy and calm pup, and the house clean and tidy. I would absolutely have her house sit for us again!

She sends a daily update and lots of photos, keeps the house looking great, and is very nice. I highly recommend her to others, and hope she’ll be able to watch the two pups again in the future.

EJ's attention to detail was exceptional. She thoroughly reviewed the information about Tessie, asked questions, and made sure that she understood Tessi's routine, and the house. Tessie had a medical emergency that required a visit to the vet. EJ handled the issue proffessionaly and compasionately and made sure the Tessie got the proper treatment, kept me informed, and followed up with the appropriate treatment when they returned home. Tessie is doing well. Tessie was well cared for while I was away. The house was spotless. EJ was exceptional.

I don’t know if you’re able to review a person more than once. But I had Andrhu coming for drop in visits during my long work hours because he lives just a few blocks away. I noticed my cat who is 15 took to him right away and he paid attention to my very *particular* requests about her care. Not only did I have a significant increase in my cats level of calmness - but literally at the LAST minute I saw that the sitter I use when I’m out of town had left my cat alone for almost 24 hours. Then pushed he out of bed when the cat tried to ask for minimal attention. To say I was crushed was an understatement. I was in complete tears. I have a lot going on and am kind of a single pet parent until my husband can join me in the USA. Andrhu AGAIN was a god send. One one days notice I let the other sitter go home for personal reasons and Andrhu agreed to stay - he was with her most all day every day. I came home today, my cat happy, playing with a ball at 15 years old. And now I am comfortable purchasing a kitten to make her (and I) even happier. Knowing I have Andrhu close by - he’s SO flexible. He’s honest and communicates expectations clearly which I appreciate and respect. The amount of guilt I carry about leaving her is at a zero. Down from about 200 on my last vacation. And now with our new addition coming - I consider Andrhu to be part of my cat tribe to make sure they’re all ok. I don’t want him to get completely booked (selfishly). But this is the relationship I needed for my sweet girl until my husband is allowed to live here - and for every vacation after. I highly recommend treating him with utmost respect. I have a guest set of linens, towels and hope Andrhu will help himself to anything food or drink in my home. At this point my home is him home and even if we haven’t met he is cat-family. Hire him whenever you can. The compassion he shows to even old pets it unmatched. I’m almost crying tears of joy from having my anxiety so much reduced in this difficult time in my life.

I have hands-on experience working with dogs through my volunteer work at the Humane Society and Resilient Sanctuary, where I help with walking dogs, providing enrichment and socialization, cleaning kennels, preparing food and water, and assisting with daily care. I am comfortable around dogs of different sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. I understand that every dog is unique, and I take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I am currently pursuing a degree in psychology, and I have a strong interest in animal behavior and dog training. This has helped me develop patience, observation skills, and an understanding of how to build trust with both pets and their owners. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, or companionship while you’re away, I will treat them with the same care, attention, and respect that I would want for my own pet. I know how important it is to have peace of mind when someone else is caring for your furry family member, and I am committed to providing reliable care and clear communication every step of the way. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! 🐾 Why book with me? * Volunteer experience with dogs at the Humane Society and Resilient Sanctuary * Experience with daily animal care, enrichment, and socialization * Reliable and responsive communication * Comfortable with dogs of various breeds and sizes * Passionate about animal behavior and dog training * Dedicated to making pets feel safe, happy, and loved I work full-time with TSA, so I currently offer pet care on Fridays and Saturdays. Spending time with dogs is something I genuinely enjoy, and I look forward to dedicating my days off to caring for pets. Whether it's walks, drop-in visits, playtime, or companionship, I will make sure your dog receives plenty of attention, exercise, and care while you're away. I live in an apartment, but I make sure dogs receive plenty of walks, exercise, potty breaks, and attention. I always follow the owner's instructions and take the time to learn each dog's routine and needs. I currently volunteer with the Humane Society and Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary, where I work with dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments. My goal is to provide a safe, positive, and stress-free experience for every dog in my care. Sequoia is wonderful! She was able to accommodate Kai on short notice and was so thoughtful about making sure our pups met beforehand and had good chemistry, which I really appreciated. She treated Kai with so much love and kindness, and I could tell she had a great time with Sequoia and her pups. She was very quick to respond and provided great updates that I deeply appreciated being away from my girl for two weeks. She also worked with Kai on her leash reactivity while I was away, and I’ve already noticed an improvement in her leash walking. She shared helpful observations and tips for continuing her training at home as well. Overall, Kai came home happy, healthy, and tired from all the fun, and I’m incredibly grateful for the care Sequoia gave her. She’s a no brainer if you need quality care for your pets.

These two are the best. Lauren was incredibly communicative, provided thoughtful updates throughout our trip, and was so warm and caring with the animals. Ernest was equally wonderful—our pups don't always warm up to new people, especially men, but they took to him right away. We came home to very happy, relaxed dogs (and cat!), and I honestly think they were disappointed their new friends had to leave. We felt completely at ease knowing our pets were in such good hands and will absolutely be booking with them again!

Brandy did an amazing job with my pup while we were away on vacation. My German Shepherd is older and has separation anxiety every time we leave. Brandy took the time to get to know her and her routine. We received photos every day, and I could tell my pup was happy and getting so much attention. This was the first time I hired a dog sitter to stay in my home, and I was a little nervous. FAQs for House Sitting - Pacific

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Pacific on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 7,816 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pacific. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pacific walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pacific maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pacific choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pacific. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
