“Jessica is an amazing dog sitter. She was very communicative, flexible and attentive to our dogs. She gladly did a meet and greet and our dogs felt comfortable around her. We would definitely book her again in the future.”
“Laura was a great pet sitter for our 5 year old doxie! Very reliable and kept me updated on how he was doing. She sent pics and videos. He really enjoyed Laura! We will definitely use her again. She also was very clean and respectful of our home.”

“Kody and Elsker loved spending the weekend with Renee, as always! They had a wonderful time, enjoyed several long walks, and spent most of Sunday relaxing and hanging out together. Renee is always attentive, caring, and reliable, and our pups are genuinely excited whenever they get to spend time with her.”

“Minh was a great sitter for my two dogs. She was an excellent communicator and provided great updates during the stay. She was very detailed and thoughtful with her care of the dogs and our home. We would definitely use Minh again.”

“Victoria is amazing! We were struggling with leaving our fur babies for a week, but Victoria put our mind at ease. She took such good care of our babies and home. When she stopped by to drop off the key all of our dogs (3 of them) were excited to see her again. To top it off, she is just a genuinely amazing person that is kind and trustworthy. We will absolutely be using her in the future.”

“Stephanie took wonderful care of our two young cats in our home. They have a ton of energy and require a lot of playtime, and Stephanie clearly gave them a lot of attention and care. Additionally, one of our cats has pica, and Stephanie was very conscientious about that and was able to get her to take her liquid medication each morning (not an easy task). She provided detailed updates and lots of pics, and we felt very at ease knowing our kitties were safe in her care. We highly recommend Stephanie to everyone and we would love to work with her again!”

“Emilia took amazing care of my dog Luca! She provided regular updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Our pup was happy and well-cared for when we got home. I would def book with her again!”

“I don’t know if you’re able to review a person more than once. But I had Andrhu coming for drop in visits during my long work hours because he lives just a few blocks away. I noticed my cat who is 15 took to him right away and he paid attention to my very *particular* requests about her care. Not only did I have a significant increase in my cats level of calmness - but literally at the LAST minute I saw that the sitter I use when I’m out of town had left my cat alone for almost 24 hours. Then pushed he out of bed when the cat tried to ask for minimal attention. To say I was crushed was an understatement. I was in complete tears. I have a lot going on and am kind of a single pet parent until my husband can join me in the USA. Andrhu AGAIN was a god send. One one days notice I let the other sitter go home for personal reasons and Andrhu agreed to stay - he was with her most all day every day. I came home today, my cat happy, playing with a ball at 15 years old. And now I am comfortable purchasing a kitten to make her (and I) even happier. Knowing I have Andrhu close by - he’s SO flexible. He’s honest and communicates expectations clearly which I appreciate and respect. The amount of guilt I carry about leaving her is at a zero. Down from about 200 on my last vacation. And now with our new addition coming - I consider Andrhu to be part of my cat tribe to make sure they’re all ok. I don’t want him to get completely booked (selfishly). But this is the relationship I needed for my sweet girl until my husband is allowed to live here - and for every vacation after. I highly recommend treating him with utmost respect. I have a guest set of linens, towels and hope Andrhu will help himself to anything food or drink in my home. At this point my home is him home and even if we haven’t met he is cat-family. Hire him whenever you can. The compassion he shows to even old pets it unmatched. I’m almost crying tears of joy from having my anxiety so much reduced in this difficult time in my life.”
“Rose is always so professional and reliable, I trust her with my babies. She's thorough and communicative. I appreciate the check ins and photos, it truly makes me feel at ease. My girls look happy and comfortable with her. Thanks so much, Rose!”

“We love Heather so much! She watched our two dogs and cat for 5 nights, and took such good care of all of them. She has great communication, attention to detail, sends updates and photos, and most of all is sweet and kind with our animals. Our reactive dog loves her calm demeanor. Thanks, Heather!”
“Emalie was a great sitter for our two dogs and two cats. She was very communicative and shared photos of our littles daily. She followed our care instructions and was conscientious of each animals specific needs. We look forward to hiring her again!”

“Shelby was so incredible! She was very attentive to our pups, sent lots of pictures, and handled our special needs dog with the utmost care and grace. She went above and beyond by washing a few dishes we had left in the sink before we went out and we were surprised and delighted that she did that for us. We look forward to seeing her again and so do our pups!”

“Morgan was wonderful. She was so attentive, playful and caring towards my 5 month old puppy. I'm a first time dog owner, and she gave me helpful tips and even left me a list of suggestions of products for my pup. I have already asked her to watch him again. :)”

“Sophia was amazing she made sure my boys were happy and well exercised. She sent pictures and videos of my boys having a nice time with her. Her photos and videos allowed me to enjoy my vacation even more. I will definitely be booking her for future dog sitting jobs.”

“Katelynn was wonderful! She took such great care of our boys while we were gone, sent regular pictures and updates, and helped us feel good about our vacation knowing our fur babies were in good hands. We would definitely book with her again!”

“Matthew was awesome. My shy boy, William, took to him instantly. He has a new best friend. Bailey was very shy at first. Matthew was very patient and she eventually interacted with him more. I would highly recommend Matthew. He took very good care of my babies and our home.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pacific
These two are the best. Lauren was incredibly communicative, provided thoughtful updates throughout our trip, and was so warm and caring with the animals. Ernest was equally wonderful—our pups don't always warm up to new people, especially men, but they took to him right away. We came home to very happy, relaxed dogs (and cat!), and I honestly think they were disappointed their new friends had to leave. We felt completely at ease knowing our pets were in such good hands and will absolutely be booking with them again!

Brandy did an amazing job with my pup while we were away on vacation. My German Shepherd is older and has separation anxiety every time we leave. Brandy took the time to get to know her and her routine. We received photos every day, and I could tell my pup was happy and getting so much attention. This was the first time I hired a dog sitter to stay in my home, and I was a little nervous. Brandy was professional and took care of my home and my pup as if they were her own. I would absolutely recommend Brandy to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.

Danielle was so wonderful! I received so many pictures of my boys, it makes me so happy to see all the fun and love they got while I was gone! She left my house so clean, and even put clean sheets on my bed so I didn’t have to think about it after a day of travel! Will absolutely be reaching out to her again!

Shay is the most professional, and reliable, and just “above and beyond” dog sitter you could ever ask for! Our pup had a better time with her than she does with us at home! Shay is a great communicator and always kept in the loop even during our busy trip. Shay will definitely be our top choice when we need someone for dog sitting!

I would give Charolette 6 or 7 stars if I could! She was amazing with my two little dogs and they now LOVE auntie Charolette. She was great about communicating any questions or concerns that came up. She cleaned up without hesitation when the dogs made "deposits" in inappropriate locations, and our house was perfectly tidy when we arrived home to happy, calm puppies. Thank you Charolette for being the best dog/house sitter we have ever used! There needs to be more of your kindness, compassion and consideration in this world.
Yvonne was great!! Her communication was top notch! Her attention to detail was wonderful! She truly cares for the animals she is looking after! Our two dogs and a frog were in perfect hands while we were away. In addition, Yvonne was very respectful of our home. I would definitely say she went above and beyond!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Pacific on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 7,892 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pacific. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pacific walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pacific maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pacific choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
