“Archie LOVES Lauren ◡̈ I had to go into the office all day and so I hired her to watch Archie while I was gone they played almost the whole time! She sent me pictures and videos throughout which made me feel at ease so I could focus on work! Archie is a high energy dog and she was able to handle him with ease! Showed up on time and understood everything she needed to know ◡̈ Highly recommend and will definitely use her in the future! ◡̈”

“Minh was great! She took amazing care of my dog, was very responsive and sent me fun pictures and updates while I was away. I came home to a very happy boy so I couldn’t be happier!”

“Matthew was awesome. My shy boy, William, took to him instantly. He has a new best friend. Bailey was very shy at first. Matthew was very patient and she eventually interacted with him more. I would highly recommend Matthew. He took very good care of my babies and our home.”

“Rose house sat for us over a weekend and took excellent care of our 12 year old heeler who is a typical cattle dog. She sent prompt updates, photos and stayed on top of his daily insulin medication. We arrived home to a happy and calm pup, and the house clean and tidy. I would absolutely have her house sit for us again!”

“EJ's attention to detail was exceptional. She thoroughly reviewed the information about Tessie, asked questions, and made sure that she understood Tessi's routine, and the house. Tessie had a medical emergency that required a visit to the vet. EJ handled the issue proffessionaly and compasionately and made sure the Tessie got the proper treatment, kept me informed, and followed up with the appropriate treatment when they returned home. Tessie is doing well. Tessie was well cared for while I was away. The house was spotless. EJ was exceptional.”

“Stephanie is so nice to Monte and Rose. They both want all the attention, all the time, and she plays with them and makes sure they are happy! She sends a daily update and lots of photos, keeps the house looking great, and is very nice. I highly recommend her to others, and hope she’ll be able to watch the two pups again in the future.”

“We love Heather so much! She watched our two dogs and cat for 5 nights, and took such good care of all of them. She has great communication, attention to detail, sends updates and photos, and most of all is sweet and kind with our animals. Our reactive dog loves her calm demeanor. Thanks, Heather!”
“Laura was a great pet sitter for our 5 year old doxie! Very reliable and kept me updated on how he was doing. She sent pics and videos. He really enjoyed Laura! We will definitely use her again. She also was very clean and respectful of our home.”

“Vanessa did such a great job watching over our home and fur babies! It was such a relief to know that my two cats and two dogs were taken care of while our family was away for a wedding weekend. Would definitely bring Vanessa back again.”

“OMG! Wendy is amazing. Good Luck trying to book with her in the future because I am booking in advance!!!! Very Professional, excellent with my fur babies, she set the bar so high that the only way I book with someone is if she isn’t available. Not to say that others aren’t amazing, I want you to know that my first experience with her and River was that good! Thank you so much!!!!”

About: Hi! My name is Monae, and caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy. I have hands-on experience working with dogs through my volunteer work at the Humane Society and Resilient Sanctuary, where I help with walking dogs, providing enrichment and socialization, cleaning kennels, preparing food and water, and assisting with daily care. I am comfortable around dogs of different sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. I understand that every dog is unique, and I take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I am currently pursuing a degree in psychology, and I have a strong interest in animal behavior and dog training. This has helped me develop patience, observation skills, and an understanding of how to build trust with both pets and their owners. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, or companionship while you’re away, I will treat them with the same care, attention, and respect that I would want for my own pet. I know how important it is to have peace of mind when someone else is caring for your furry family member, and I am committed to providing reliable care and clear communication every step of the way. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! 🐾 Why book with me? * Volunteer experience with dogs at the Humane Society and Resilient Sanctuary * Experience with daily animal care, enrichment, and socialization * Reliable and responsive communication * Comfortable with dogs of various breeds and sizes * Passionate about animal behavior and dog training * Dedicated to making pets feel safe, happy, and loved I work full-time with TSA, so I currently offer pet care on Fridays and Saturdays. Spending time with dogs is something I genuinely enjoy, and I look forward to dedicating my days off to caring for pets. Whether it's walks, drop-in visits, playtime, or companionship, I will make sure your dog receives plenty of attention, exercise, and care while you're away. I live in an apartment, but I make sure dogs receive plenty of walks, exercise, potty breaks, and attention. I always follow the owner's instructions and take the time to learn each dog's routine and needs. I currently volunteer with the Humane Society and Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary, where I work with dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments. My goal is to provide a safe, positive, and stress-free experience for every dog in my care. I am also pursuing a degree in psychology and will be starting the Karen Pryor Dog Trainer Foundations course. My long-term goal is to become a service dog trainer, so I'm passionate about continuing to learn and build experience working with dogs.
“Emilia took amazing care of my dog Luca! She provided regular updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Our pup was happy and well-cared for when we got home. I would def book with her again!”

“I don’t know if you’re able to review a person more than once. But I had Andrhu coming for drop in visits during my long work hours because he lives just a few blocks away. I noticed my cat who is 15 took to him right away and he paid attention to my very *particular* requests about her care. Not only did I have a significant increase in my cats level of calmness - but literally at the LAST minute I saw that the sitter I use when I’m out of town had left my cat alone for almost 24 hours. Then pushed he out of bed when the cat tried to ask for minimal attention. To say I was crushed was an understatement. I was in complete tears. I have a lot going on and am kind of a single pet parent until my husband can join me in the USA. Andrhu AGAIN was a god send. One one days notice I let the other sitter go home for personal reasons and Andrhu agreed to stay - he was with her most all day every day. I came home today, my cat happy, playing with a ball at 15 years old. And now I am comfortable purchasing a kitten to make her (and I) even happier. Knowing I have Andrhu close by - he’s SO flexible. He’s honest and communicates expectations clearly which I appreciate and respect. The amount of guilt I carry about leaving her is at a zero. Down from about 200 on my last vacation. And now with our new addition coming - I consider Andrhu to be part of my cat tribe to make sure they’re all ok. I don’t want him to get completely booked (selfishly). But this is the relationship I needed for my sweet girl until my husband is allowed to live here - and for every vacation after. I highly recommend treating him with utmost respect. I have a guest set of linens, towels and hope Andrhu will help himself to anything food or drink in my home. At this point my home is him home and even if we haven’t met he is cat-family. Hire him whenever you can. The compassion he shows to even old pets it unmatched. I’m almost crying tears of joy from having my anxiety so much reduced in this difficult time in my life.”

“Dianna was excellent with my 10-day post-op angry scared-y cat. Nigel was recovering from surgery and still needed medicine while I was away. He was stressed to be left alone and gets upset and aggressive when he is handled, but Dianna met him on his level and was very patient with him. She helped him get comfortable with her at his own pace and didn’t force him. She even managed to get him to take his medicine! Dianna was very communicative through all of it and let me know about Nigel’s struggles and successes throughout the weekend. I would absolutely recommend Dianna!”

“Sarah did a wonderful job taking care of our two dogs - Archie and Frankie! She sent us updates daily with pictures. The house was clean when we returned and she even watered my outside plants. We will definitely request Sarah to pet sit for us again. Thank you Sarah!”

“Jacob is an amazing sitter! He's very detailed and kept me updated on my kitty cat daily! I booked him for a week long house sitting and when I came back, the apt was spotless and my pet was relaxed and happy! I am very satisfied with Jacob's sitting and would totally book him again in the future! Thanks Jacob!”

“Makela watched our house & dog and cat for 8 days and she was absolutely amazing! She updated me daily and was always available if I reached out, and was always kind & professional. Our pets were very comfortable with her and extremely well taken care of which put my mind at ease. I will be rebooking with Makela for all pet sitting needs in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trusted sitter :)”

About: Hi! I have had over 10 years of experience with my own fur babies. Both of my girls have crossed the rainbow bridge but we got to enjoy their golden years together, going for walks and soaking up the sun. As my dogs got older I became a pro in distributing oral medications and eye drops. Roxy (my Shih Tzu) also became blind and deaf so I have experience with those disabilities as well. I give exceptional belly rubs, & will give these babies compliments all day long. I do work full time, but I have a pretty flexible schedule. Saturday - Monday my availability is pretty open. Tuesday - Friday I would be available after 5pm. My neighborhood has wonderful with walking trails that we could explore. I also live next door to my aunt who has a super friendly Corgi and is always looking for friends to play with. I do love to snuggle up with a pup on the couch or bed, but do have space for a crate if that would be more comfortable for them.
“Victoria is amazing! We were struggling with leaving our fur babies for a week, but Victoria put our mind at ease. She took such good care of our babies and home. When she stopped by to drop off the key all of our dogs (3 of them) were excited to see her again. To top it off, she is just a genuinely amazing person that is kind and trustworthy. We will absolutely be using her in the future.”

“Brittney and Megan were absolute angels!! From the moment I booked with them, they went above and beyond—checking in with me every day, sending the cutest, most beautiful photos of my babies, and most importantly, loving them like their own. 🥹💛 Knowing they were safe, snuggled, and genuinely cared for brought my anxiety down more than I can say. I could feel the warmth and peace they created in my absence. I will never be able to thank them enough—and I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again in a heartbeat. Truly the dream team. 💫🐾✨”

What an amazing sitter! She did everything we asked including what felt like the weird annoying details. Our dogs loved her and she was very attentive. She kept us updated with pictures and messages, and the boys always looked happy. Would recommend and book her again!

Matthew is a fantastic pet sitter. He communicates well, always shows up on time, and is very reliable. He is kind, gentle, and patient with my pets. I would definitely hire Matthew again. I needed to go on a short trip and was really worried about leaving my 2 little dogs and 2 cats, especially since two of them are senior and require medications and special attention, and are not used to being around people they don't know well. Matthew was kind and gentle with them, and after a few days even my grouchy senior girl had warmed up to him. I was amazed that she laid in his lap and let him pet her tummy!

I real felt comfortable leaving my pets with Laura. She was able to handle my energetic lab and diva cat. She also semt a few photos, which is always nice. I got home a little earlier than expected and I could tell my pup bonded with her. I also really appreciate how she respected my home. Will definitely have her back!!

Rain did an incredible job taking care of our anxious corgi and elderly kitty. We had just moved from out of state and it was our first time ever hiring a pet sitter while we flew back home to visit family for about five days, so we were nervous about figuring out animal care while we were gone. We found Rain here on Rover and they did such an incredible job at taking care of them and sending cute pictures and updates while we were gone. When we came home, we could tell that they were happy and well taken care of and Rain even left a little calming dog tv for our boy in the interim of our plane landing/driving home. I would highly recommend Rain and would most definitely book again as well! ^_^

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lakeland South walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lakeland South maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lakeland South choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lakeland South. On Rover:

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
