“Sara was wonderful! Mia had a blast with her. We got lots of picture updates and communication was fantastic. We had a last minute change of plans as well and Sara was very flexible and accommodating. We will definitely be using her again. She’s exactly what we’ve been looking for in a dog sitter!”

About: I’ve been caring for cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies for over 12 years. It started when I was young, helping family and friends with their pets, and naturally grew into fostering both puppies and adult dogs. Today, I live with a ragdoll cat, two mini schnauzer doggies, and regularly foster dogs. My 2 senior cats that I grew up with currently live with my mom. Every dog or puppy I foster and have in my home learns routines and tricks based on their needs. I’ve helped with leash training, crate and potty training, managing toy reactivity, and teaching commands like sit, shake, and touch. My pets get plenty of playtime, structure, and love and yours will too. I’m careful with pet introductions and always prioritize comfort and safety. I understand every animal is different and will listen closely to your concerns to provide personalized care. I also love sending regular photo and video updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is happy, safe, and loved. I work from home, and I am pretty flexible on ensuring the care needed for your pet. I have a lot of time to spoil your pets! I have a fully fenced yard, and monitor pets when they are outside. I introduce pets slowly with positive association and ensure each pet is comfortable. I also have a fence to separate pets indoors if needed. When caring for friends/family's pets, I always ensure pets do not bolt out the door both when coming inside and leaving. When walking a pup, I always ensure their harness/collar is on correctly and have high reward treats/toys to ensure focus stays on me if there are distractions. I never overwhelm an animal and understand they take time to warm up, especially when it is my first time meeting them.
“Booked for three days, and everything went fantastic, She took great care of my dog and kept me updated. My dog was walked on a consistent schedule, fed on time and got plenty of attention. I could tell she takes the job seriously, I appreciate the photos and quick check in through out the day. Her place is beautiful and my dog seems to be happy. I will definitely book Minji again and recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable and caring.”

“She is wonderful! Takes great care of our 9 week old puppy, and is very considerate of the fact that he is not fully vaccinated so she keeps him separate from other dogs. She is awesome!”

“Marla is very responsive and attentive, sent pictures and updates throughout the day. My pup enjoyed her spacious yard and had so much fun playing with Boo. I will be booking again!”

Large fully fenced yard. Walkable neighborhood. Golden aussiedoodle mix will keep them company. High energy and loves to play! I can provide a crate for any further crate training needs.
About: I understand that every pup has their own personality, and I enjoy giving them the love, patience, and attention they deserve while you're away. Whether your little companion enjoys short walks to the park, cozy lap time, playtime, or simply a calm and caring presence, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I treat every dog as if they were my own and believe in providing reliable, loving care that gives both pets and their owners peace of mind. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! I’m currently retired, so I have all of the time needed to be with your pup. My lifestyle is ideal for pet sitting since I will be with them nearly every minute you’re gone. I live in an apartment that has a dedicated potty space for dogs just a short elevator ride away. There’s a park across the street for short walks. I’ve had dogs for many years and our neighbors are all very dog friendly! They love to say hi as we go in and out to potty and walk.
“Francena is a loving, caring, and knowledgeable provider! She treats my senior Bichon like her own. She took prompt care of him when he was anxious (which he always is now that he is senior). She kept me posted and was very patient with his senior habits! She really knows dogs with all her experience in showing, breeding, grooming, and vet industries. I'm so happy to have found her!❤️”

About: Hey! I'm Tony! I have loved animals since before I could walk. For the last ten years, I had two dogs and are recently down to one after the tragic passing of Olive, the brown catahoula you see in our pictures. We're down to Ozzie, the black catahoula who is 11 years old and loves dogs of all sizes and demeanors. Professionally, I'm a software developer with 10 years of experience. I'm taking a break from software development professionally and using my free time to make video games and other apps. After making a couple friends at the dog park, and watching dogs for a day or two, I'm opening myself and my home to you and your dog(s)! I have plenty of time to give your pet daily walks, structured and safe play with my dog and any other dogs being boarded. If you'd like, free of charge, I will ensure your dog maintains or learns for the first time, basic obedience commands with: Food, Hand, Voice, Leash For the following commands Sit, Down/Stay, Place, Recall, Heel. I am extremely meticulous with our dog's feeding schedule and am happy to adapt to your dog's particular routine, if they have any special needs. You can rest assured any meds schedule is followed as closely as you do at home. Im endlessly flexible and only want what's best for your dog! If your dog shows any aggression or antisocial behavior we can also accommodate them with an individual room and crate and attention and potty breaks, etc. I hope you choose me to watch your dog where they'll be treated like family! My home is virtually 100% available unless my wife and I are on vacation. I will watch your dog for as little or as long as you need and ensure your dog is under my full supervision. I'm an early riser so your dog will always get fed on time and let out to go potty frequently. While your dog is here, they will be my highest priority, I currently have no meetings or other commitments. My dog and any dog I'm watching gets a daily walk that is roughly 1-2 miles. I have a fully fenced yard with plenty of space to run and play with my dog Ozzie or any others currently in the pack. My dog is very loving and social and can help scared, anxious, or anti social dogs gain social skills. I have various sized crates to board your dog for any overnights. If you have your own crate that is preferable. I have plenty of dog beds too. Your dog will be under supervision and tended to as a member of the household for their entire stay and will only be technically unsupervised while they're sleeping at night. If you have any questions or reservations or specific requirements, please don't hesitate to reach out, I'm flexible and accommodating!
“Dennis & Lynn were very pleasant to meet! They have a beautiful home with a big yard for my pup to play in. I received updates throughout my pups stay. Nevie had so much fun and played so hard she slept the majority of the evening when she got home. I booked again with Dennis and Lynn and my puppy Nevie will be so excited to return to visit!”

About: Update: We have adopted 7/7/26 a Shih-tzu 10lb. I raised both a Shih Tzu-Poodle mix and a Tibetan Terrier from puppies into their senior years. They were truly part of our family, and after losing them, I’m not emotionally ready to adopt again. (My daughter got a dog now-7/7/2026) Pet sitting feels like the perfect win-win your pets will be showered with love, attention, and care, while also bringing that special furry companionship back into our home. I’m experienced in daily pet care, including brushing and coat maintenance. Since both of our dogs had coats that matted easily, daily brushing and regular grooming were essential, and I personally maintained and trimmed their coats myself. In addition to caring for my own dogs, I’ve pet sat for friends and family during vacations, often caring for their pets for weeks at a time. I also worked as a nanny for several years, where I regularly cared for a German Shepherd who became one of my favorites. We took daily walks to the park, and I helped maintain his coat, especially during shedding season. My love for animals began growing up on a farm surrounded by dogs, cats, and frequent litters of puppies and kittens. Being able to witness and help care for animals from such a young age gave me a deep appreciation for them and taught me patience, attentiveness, and compassion. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets, and I will always care for them as if they were part of my own family. My schedule is very flexible, I work from home in the evenings, the timing is perfect for winding down, they can relax in my office while I work or in our living room or room. In my home: Safety is my top priority. I have a large, fully fenced backyard, that connect directly to our lower living area allowing for secure and easy access for potty breaks. For variety i can take them around our neighborhood for walks and can utilize a large park at a nearby school for additional play time. Pet not good on walks, NO PROBLEM: Having owned a Tibetan Terrier who was incredibly loving with family and children, but reactive to other dogs on walks I deeply understand that every dog is different. If a pet is anxious or not good on walks, we can stay withing our private back yard. In the clients home: I follow the owners established routines and instructions to keep the pet safe and comfortable in their familiar environment, including tailored neighborhood walks.

“Marisol was the absolute best sitter!! First of all we had a super last minute request and she accommodated us so beautifully! Our sweet Jolene was spoiled, loved and cared for as if she was Marisols own pet. I hope we come back to the area just so we can use her again!”

“Shay and her husband did a great job with Wrigley! He got play time with their dogs, and Shay gave slow introductions for Wrigley and her pets to make sure they would be comfortable together (they were!). Wrigley was a happy pup when he left.”

“Ricardo is Onyx’s favorite friend. They have three other dogs that are so well behaved and t they play with Onyx. They even play ball with him and even gave onyx’s favorite ball. He even plays with the ball at my home every day. I will recommend them so many times.”

“Nich was great! Super friendly, took great care of my pup. Video and text updates. Not afraid to ask questions as needed. I would definitely trust Nich again to watch my little monster 🐶. 😊”

“Han is outstanding! She was so kind and understanding to my very anxious pup. I was worried about a new babysitter and if he would get along with her doggos and I was more than happy to see him fit right in to the pack! A very calm and safe environment for my little boy, such a great find.”

“Alyssa was such a great pet sitter to my little dog Ella! She first of all was able to help me on such short notice and that was super appreciated. She sent me some pictures and let me know how my dog was doing for the couple of hours she was with her. Thanks so much for taking such good care of my fur baby!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Lakeland South
We’ve been using Happy Tails for daycare and boarding for several years, and we couldn’t be happier. Our dog, Honey, is extremely anxious around new people, so finding someone she trusts is no small feat. Sara was amazing from the very beginning—Honey took to her right away, which honestly says everything. Sara has a special ability to understand and connect with dogs, especially those with unique needs. Knowing Honey feels safe, comfortable, and excited to be there gives us so much peace of mind. We love that she gets plenty of playtime with other dogs while also receiving attentive, individualized care. Sara is always responsive, communicates quickly, and consistently reassures us that Honey is in great hands. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine love for the dogs she cares for keep us coming back to Happy Tails every time. We highly recommend Sara and Happy Tails! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Lakeland South commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
