About: Over the course of my life I have owned, raised and cared for dogs (Husky + Pitbull mutt, Lab and Chihuahua), chickens, quail, fish, lizards and cats. I'm very organized when it comes to scheduling, I've attached a screenshot of my weekly schedule from January1 - March 20th. I'll have my schedule for April-June posted by the end of March. I'm constantly updating my available times on the app and will stay in communication if scheduling problems come up. I'm a very flexible person as well, I usually don't mind driving if locations change or re-scheduling. Any pet in my care will have my utmost attention and loads of affection, and I welcome your detailed instructions as to how you’d like your pet cared for. I'm very conscious about having a safe environment, making sure any trash or choking hazards are out of reach, as well as closely monitoring outside time.

About: My name is Jennie. I grew up on a farm in Eastern Washington. We had tons of animals, including many different types of dogs, big and small. We regularly took in rescue animals and pets with special needs. I now live in Santa Cruz, and I have a sixteen year old muggin (pug/min-pin) named Genghis. I'm new to the area, and I'm looking to work with pets of all types. I have regular and occasional availability. I offer dog walking, petsitting and house-sitting services. I am experienced with animals of all ages and stages, from puppies and kittens, to senior cats and pups. I am able to administer oral and topical medications, and I am happy to offer health monitoring for pets who are under veterinary care. While I do not offer full grooming services, basic bathing is in my wheel house. Whatever your pets need to be happy, healthy, and comfortable is what I want to provide! I know that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision. When it comes to adventures outside of the home, safety is my #1 priority. I want your pups to have a great time, and to do that, they've got to be safe. For this reason, I do not take pups to off leash areas, when other dogs are present. There are just far too many risks to take into account with unfamiliar dogs around. Keeping dogs on-leash in group settings offers me a greater amount of control and ability to protect them, in the even that we are approached by another unfamiliar dog while out and about.

Dogs in my care enjoy fresh air, fun walks, and plenty of playtime balanced with calm downtime at home. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their normal routines so they feel safe and comfortable in familiar surroundings.

We LOVE Melanie! As former pet sitters ourselves, our standards are pretty high— none of the other Rover sitters we’d tried in the past had quite met them until Melanie! We unexpectedly had to delay our trip by a day because we got sick. Melanie promptly accommodated this change and sent along such a thoughtful message. We knew right away we were dealing with a true professional! Melanie’s attentiveness stood out right from our meet-and-greet. She didn't just ask what our cats' favorite toys were—she asked how they each liked to play with their toys. We showed Melanie our cat Plum's exercise wheel and mentioned that her favorite way to use it is with someone jogging alongside her. We never expected a sitter to adopt our silly little routine, but Melanie jogged next to her at every visit! It was no surprise to hear that Plum was greeting Melanie at the door and rubbing against her for pets by the end of our time away. Our other cat, Lyra, is a little more wary of new people, but Melanie is extremely well versed in cat body language and boundaries, and took that into account when interacting with the less-trusting Lyra. Even if Lyra wasn’t fully on board with the whole “new person” idea, she still chose to hang out nearby Melanie at all of her visits, which told us she felt safe. As anxious pet owners, we like updates that are as detailed as possible with lots of pictures. Melanie delivered in spades, providing sweet and thoughtful visit summaries with 25+ photos per visit. Her summaries went beyond the basic tasks of the visit— she let us know how our cats greeted her, how much they were eating, if they wanted pets, what toys they played with, and her sense how our babies were doing overall. Most importantly, she let us know they were LOVED. We look forward to hiring Melanie again soon!

Nicole took care of my cats when I had to go out of town last minute for Memorial Day weekend. She arrived each evening to feed them, clean the litter box, play, and fill their waters. She was prompt and kept everything clean, and she even got my super shy kitty to come out and play & made sure he ate! I would definitely recommend booking Nicole if you need pet care.
Grace was amazing!! It was clear that our cats really liked her during our meet and greet. During the sit, she left detailed report cards and sent many photos. Our cats were in great hands. She’s really on top of everything and I felt at east while away. I’d recommended her for sure! :))
Wonderful care, as always! Tula is an old lady now, but AnnMarie is so sweet and attentive to her needs. She always goes above and beyond to make sure our kitty is comfortable and safe, and our house is always well-cared for. We so appreciate the job well done!!
Terra was great. She understood my cat needed space while I was away and adhered to all of my requests. I was not able to do a meet and greet and she stepped in without an issue by talking it over on the phone. She made me feel comfortable leaving my baby with her. I’d recommend her and hire her again.
Makayla was a great sitter. She sent me pictures which really helped me while I was out of town. She gave my cat the space he needed and he felt very comfortable going about his routine with her. He had 3 times a day feedings with special instructions to open windows for him and let him go on my porch when she got there so he can eat grass and get a little fresh air. She followed them all to make my boy as comfortable as can be. My recommendation is to definitely hire her if she’s available. Thank you Makayla!
