“Marissa went above and beyond for my dog. He had an upset stomach for several of the days she dropped in on him and she handled everything with grace. I highly recommend her as a rover.”

“Lilian did an amazing job taking care of our fur babies. She administered medications, followed all of our detailed and sometimes complicated instructions, and made sure each pet’s individual needs were met. We really appreciated the regular photo updates, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. It’s not easy to care for pets with different special needs, but Lilian handled everything with care and attention. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful pet sitter.”

“Lupita did a wonderful taking care of our cats. We appreciated the pictures she shared and the overview of their behavior. Communication with Lupita was easy. She’s an excellent pet sitter!”

“David did such a great job with Ginger, you can tell he really likes kitties! He followed instructions and we were especially happy that he brushed her. She seemed fat and happy upon our return!”

“Excellent job again with my reactive guy. He was calm after she left which has not always been the case with dog sitters after they leave. She takes time to mellow him out and it pays off. Very grateful for your kindness and care for my pup <3”

“Haley was fantastic and took great care of our cat (Tiny). Very responsive and easy to communicate with, we would definitely recommend her to anyone and can’t wait to have her watch Tiny again!”

If you're looking for someone who truly understands animal behavior and safety, you've found them. Why choose me? Clinical Experience: Years of working in vet clinics and rehab centers mean I’m trained to handle everything from routine care to emergency situations. Educated Care: I've taken college level courses in animal training and care. Future Vet: I am continuing my journey into Veterinary Medicine this September! I have transportation as required, and can stay the night easily. I will care for your animal however you would care for them if you were home. I have no problem administering medication, taking them on walks, cleaning up after them, etc. I have cared for a multitude of species (including wildlife!) so I am capable of handling situations.

About: I have been caring for my 13 year old dog, Molly, for 11 years. I am also an active volunteer at the county animal shelter, working with dogs (1,000+ hours) and cats (400+ hours). I have a special place in my heart for dogs with behavioral and medical needs, and working with them at the shelter has taught me patience and skills that help to make the animals more comfortable. I also have training in puppy care, senior dog care, walking leash-sensitive dogs, and caring for injured animals. The time I get to spend with dogs is the most fun I have doing anything, and I take a lot of pride in caring for them with the appropriate level of attention and patience they need. I work remotely and have a flexible schedule, so I am available to walk and care dogs at a variety of hours. The length of walks is up to you and your dog-- I am happy to do short walks or longer outings depending on what you need! I am happy to refer you to references (animal shelter staff and volunteers) who can attest to my dog-handling skills and my ability to work with dogs from a variety of backgrounds. The safety of your pet and your home always come first, and I am very comfortable taking any steps needed to ensure that everything goes smoothly.
About: Caring for animals has always been part of my life. I grew up surrounded by pets of all kinds, including dogs, cats, birds with feathers, fish with fins, and even those with scales. That early exposure gave me a deep comfort and appreciation for animals of every personality and species. I am recently retired, which gives me the flexibility to be fully present and available for pet care when needed. My schedule allows me to accommodate walks, drop-ins, overnights, and extended stays without the constraints of a traditional workday. This flexibility means your pets receive consistent attention, timely care, and a calm, unhurried presence while you are away. When caring for pets in my home, they become part of an active, dog-friendly neighborhood with plenty to explore. I live just 1.5 blocks from the beach and close to great walking spots like Arana Gulch, the park at the end of Schwan Lake, and a nearby dog park only minutes away. Dogs in my care enjoy fresh air, fun walks, and plenty of playtime balanced with calm downtime at home. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their normal routines so they feel safe and comfortable in familiar surroundings.
Rio Del Mar cat parents share their Rover experiences
Yuliya is definitely a cat person, and our cats took to her right away! Our older cat Plum can be a little prickly if overstimulated, so seeing pictures of her rubbing up against Yuliya’s leg made me feel secure that my cat felt comfortable and safe. We also loved seeing photos of our younger, more active cat Lyra getting plenty of play time and affection. She understood and expressed the importance of routines for cats, especially when their people are away, and her care for our cats reflected that. Our cats have a fairly complicated food routine, and Yuliya did well adhering to it. Part way through our trip, she noticed that one of our cat’s food was running low, let us know, and even measured out how many portions were left to ensure there would be enough to last the rest of our trip. We are the type of cat owners who appreciate very detailed visit summaries, and it would’ve been great to have had a little more of that, but we did receive lots of photos and enough written updates to feel that our cats were in safe and caring hands. Thank you, Yuliya!
