I am comfortable with all breeds, sizes, ages, and energy levels. I have experience with multi-pet households, having cared for up to four dogs at a time. There are no pet allergies or breed-specific fears that would prevent me from providing excellent care for your furry friend. I currently work full-time till about 4pm Mon-Fri but free every evening and various times throughout the weekend. I am off all federal holidays. No set commitments to anything after work so very flexible schedule. About: Please read the below information in it’s entirety, I know you love your dog and you want to make sure he’s taken care of properly. I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was a kid not realizing that one day I’d make it a life goal to be certified as a Dog Trainer. I graduated from Animal Behavior College (Positive Reinforcement Based Training). Family, friends and neighbors have relied and continue to rely on me to care for their pets for when they travel and they always come back to a friend who’s happy to see them. I’m located about 10 min away from Chicago O’hare Airport. If you’re flying out, this is super convenient because I know the first thing you’re going to want to do when you get back from your trip is to see your best friend. My fianceé and I currently work from home and don’t really go out on vacation except once a year internationally so we’re available on the weekends and holidays. We have a fenced yard and everything has been set up to be dog friendly. As a Dog Trainer, I understand that dogs don’t know between right or wrong, only between what is allowed and what is not (what results in a reward and what doesn’t). Love, Safety, Comfort and Trust are our biggest priorities so the number one rule in the house is: “Nobody Is Put In The Position Where They Think They Have To Defend Themselves”. Playtime here is always supervised and because of how many dogs we can house at once, there can’t be playtime in between dogs unless we’re 100% certain that they get along (I think it’s perfectly fine if your dog doesn’t like other dogs, or people). With that being said, each and every dog gets to not only enjoy free roaming and walks but also One-on-One interactive play sessions with me and my fiancé. You’ll be getting updates every single day including pictures that show how your friend is doing.

For the past 7 years, I have fostered dogs through Chicago Canine Rescue, One Tail at a Time, and German Shepherd Rescue of Illinois, where I have helped provide a safe and loving environment, basic training, exercise and socialization for dogs until they are ready for their forever homes. ***We have experience with handicapped dogs (having had two of our own), and we are happy to take care of your handicapped dog at no extra cost (including stroke/FCE, IVDD, paralysis, bladder and bowel expression, carrying around stairs or gravel to prevent skin injuries, harnesses/slings, wheelchairs, you name it).*** While I work as an emergency nurse, I am passionate about dogs and other animals, and I keep trying to find ways to enjoy my passion without completely changing my profession. My husband Steve is a manager at Trader Joe’s, and yes, he does bring the bizarre contentment that Trader Joe’s employees have home :) My husband Steve and I are huge animal lovers- we are chronically adding pets to our home in the form of adoption, fostering, or babysitting! We live in a 2000 sqft home in a quiet neighborhood with a fully fenced yard for your babies to stretch their legs, run, play, or relax. We have 4 stairs leading into the home, and a ramp if needed, but we can also help lift your dog up and down the stairs if that’s what they need. We have a sweet as can be, handicapped 6.5 year old German Shepherd named Lemmy and two friendly, dog savvy cats named Karma and Ozzy. **We ask that your dog is dog friendly, but your dog does not need to be cat friendly- we just have to know about it, and we can easily separate our cats comfortably** Steve and I work opposite hours and coordinate schedules well, so the dogs don't get lonely! We also have a pet camera to see how the dogs are doing if we are away. Feel free to ask us to connect with any past clients we have had on and off Rover- we have had exceptional experiences and reviews, and we can’t wait for your dog to join us! We are incredibly fortunate that our schedules are super flexible!! Every week is different for me on a nursing schedule, and Steve works a set “waterfall schedule” with the same days off weekly. Our pets and your pets will be spoiled with care, but they need to be ok to be left alone for about 4 hours, 6 max. If they are not ok with this, we just need to know about it so we can flex our schedules to accommodate. We have a spacious and secure home with a basement and two floors and fully fenced yard in a quiet and safe neighborhood. Even with a fully secure, 6 foot tall fence, dog(s) will never ever be left in the yard without our supervision. Our 3 pets are well behaved and incredibly friendly and will gladly give your pet space or hang out!

About: Hi, I’m Dana! I’m a lifelong animal lover who has owned dogs for as long as I can remember. I offer dog walking, sittings, and drop in visits. Your four legged babies are my top priority! I am a college freshman who is currently studying Nursing, so class takes up my time most of the week, but am totally opened up Friday-Sunday, and am still available in the afternoons during Monday-Thursday. I am available Monday-Thursday from 4pm-10pm and 7am to 10pm Friday-Sunday. I look forward to meeting your amazing pets! I care for my doggies by feeding them each two times a day with plain dog kibble and letting them out about 4-5 times a day. I know my dog is simple so don’t be shy if your dogs/puppies require more help!
