“Taylor did great watching our two cats for 11 days while we were out of the country. She followed directions perfectly and we came home to two happy healthy cats! Will definitely book again”

“Yulitza was great with our 2 big dogs! This was my first time using Rover and I felt confident in leaving Yulitza to care for my dogs. She was very communicative and sent pictures every visit. Will definitely book again!”

“Ashley was great. This was the first time having a sitter for my 3 dogs. She had a total of 5 visits over 3 days. Ashley was on time & quick to respond with pictures of all 3 dogs plus 2 cats. I will book her again.”

“Tessie is awesome! She takes excellent care of Zoe. I get a great summary of Zoe’s day and she follows all of my instructions. She even modifies according to Zoe’s needs when it makes sense.”

About: I have cared for dogs of all sizes and breeds since I can remember. I grew up with at least 3-4 dogs in my household at all times, volunteered at the local animal shelter to help take care of the overflow of dogs, fostered a litter of puppies, and of course the occasional dog sitting for a neighbor or family friend. I am currently working 2 part time jobs at the moment, but they usually include short days and hours. I am mostly available from mid afternoon to nighttime on any given day, especially weekends! Schedule is subject to change weekly. I have a big kennel in my home if it’s ever needed. I also have plenty of toys, treats, and other equipment like poop bags, leashes, or harnesses.
“On time and very thorough, plus my animals loved Katie from the very moment they met her!! If I ever need animal care again I’ll definitely re-book if she’s available 😊”

“Christen did such an amazing job taking care of our dog and cat! I really appreciated the walks and photos. I definitely felt that Mango and Virgo were getting great care with Christen, allowing for me and my girls to have a wonderful vacation.”

“Caroline is amazing! This is my first time using Rover, and she made everything so easy and made me feel very at peace while I was away. On-time visits, lots of pictures, and great care for my two kitties! Thank you, Caroline!”

“Kacey was amazing dropping in on our cats for 2 weeks while we were away! She followed instructions perfectly and the cats loved her (even my shy older lady) and she helped me out with a couple of things around the house seen as we were gone so long which was so nice of her. She’s so reliable and gives great communication. Will absolutely book her again!”

About: I’ve had the privilege of making animal care my life for the past 30+ years. I’ve worked at 2 zoos, a wildlife preserve and now I pet sit full time. I love meeting new pets and their parents. My main priority is ensuring your animal is comfortable and safe while you’re away. I strive to give peace of mind to any worried pet parents. 😊 My favorite activities with your Furkid include enrichment with toys, fetching, dispensing treats and rubbing backs and bellies. I can medicate, give insulin and prepare special diets. I’m also trained in animal first aid and I excel at following directions. Animal care is all I do. I can do daily walks/visits up to 3 times a day. I’m also available for house sitting and overnights. I have a number of clients in the Baton Rouge area with different pet care needs and I make my own schedule. I stick to their usual daily routine or follow whatever instructions are left. I like to keep a consistent visit/feeding/potty time. I have a lot of patience and will encourage your pet to socialize with me. We can do whatever they like, play with toys, take walks, eat treats, rub backs or just sit together. I also water plants, check mail/paper and keep a general an eye on things.
“Great experience! Lily kept me updated with photos, and Bella looked happy and well cared for. I appreciated the communication and attention she gave my dog. Would absolutely use her again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Brijaye showed up on time every day (weekday, weekend and holiday) and took great care of my 3 cats. I even saw them waiting by the door for her to arrive in the morning. She sent several pics each day and a little note about each one's behaviors (eating, hiding, etc). I highly recommend her and will definitely will plan to use her services again!”

“Johanna was great! Reliable, kind and calming. She sent several pics a day and it appears our pup was well cared for while we were gone, which was such a weight off our shoulders! Would love to have her as a sitter again in the future.”

About: I’ve grown up around all types of pets and began pet sitting full-time in 2016 when I became a mom. Once I returned to full-time work, I shifted my services to part-time. My weekday schedule is 8–5 with an hour lunch break, so I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and overnight stays. As a single mom, my dogs are usually with me for house sitting and overnight services (my son may join depending on the schedule). They’re both friendly—my bigger dog has had lots of socialization through doggy daycare and in public, and my Chihuahua is only with me part-time since he goes with my son when staying with his dad. Depending on the dates, it may just be Dolly with me. Occasionally, I can arrange care for both dogs if it’s a short booking—just reach out and let me see what I can do! For walks and drop-ins, I always come alone. I love animals like they’re my own and will do my best to accommodate your pets’ needs—whether it’s playtime, walks, or just extra love and attention. I work Monday-Friday, 8-5 with an hour lunch break. I work 10 minutes from my home and I also have security cameras to check in on pets if they stay with me. I follow any directions provided to care for their needs. If they need a long walk, I am happy to do so. I also don’t make any major plans during the time I have your pet in my care.
“Myra is wonderful! She was punctual for drop ins and made sure my fur babies were cared for during my absence. I highly recommend Myra- her service is unmatched….we will definitely book again.”

About: I own a 50 pound dog who is great and familiar with both big and small dogs alike as well as cats! I have lived around/with dogs my entire life, and have been a vital part of training animals of all ages. I am the go-to guy for watching/walking/feeding animals when friends and family are out of town and am so excited to continue to make relationships helping others! We have the flexibility to work from home when necessary to provide the appropriate amount of attention to your dogs specific needs during the work week. During the weekend, we love spending time on dog-centered activities - walks, and playing in the yard! We have a fenced yard and a playful dog to keep your animal company, indoor and outdoor. We are able to accommodate specific feeding and sleep schedules.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oak Hills Place. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
