Nina accommodated me last minute, and did an absolutely fantastic job! she sent me photos of my dogs, and even went out of her way to give them treats at the end of the visit from her own stash when I didn’t have my own, and followed directions perfectly! she made sure to keep any temperaments that I had let her know about in mind while dropping in with them, and my babies seem so happy with her care. will definitely be using her again!

About: You can count on me to treat your pet like another member of my family. Growing up on a farm exposed me to animals of all sizes from an early age and gave me a deep love for them. We always had dogs and cats, plus other animals. Because of this, I am comfortable administering medications to your pets and ensuring they get the love and attention you are looking for. I've had my rescue Pit, Rusty, for the past 5 years, and I love being a dog dad. I am a bit of a runner, so I am happy to take on high-energy dogs, whether that is for a longer walk or a good run. I am looking forward to helping you with your pet's needs and working toward being their new best friend! I currently work remotely as a freelancer and have a lot of flexibility in my schedule both during the day and evenings. I can host most weekends and live down from Eden Park. I'll do my best to work around your pet's needs and routine to meet you where you are! I believe in following what works best for your pet and reinforcing any behaviors/training you are currently working on with them. I also believe every pet should be loved and spoiled just like any family member. My day job is communications and marketing, so you can expect regular and consistent updates from me.

Wolf did an INCREDIBLE job taking care of our babies while we were away! They took the initiative to stop by before we left for an introduction and to get to know us, which left me feeling completely confident in them. We got a great little summary every day of how the visit went and several silly pictures each day of the cats. Wolf was such a treat and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a competent and capable pet sitter!

Melissa was absolutely amazing. She was prompt, CLEARLY concerned that she had all the information she needed to take care of my cats, and flexible about some last minute complications with my plans. Melissa sent me awesome pictures and notes each day, and had my shy, timid boy eating up her affection. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

About: I have been an animal lover my whole life always having dogs and cats at home. Growing up I helped raise my families current dogs from puppies and help with dogsitting any time they are out of town along with my other family and friends with their cats, dogs, and even guinea pigs. I currently have a 2 cats of my own now that I raised since they were kittens. I also volunteered at an animal shelter for 2 years helping with walking and playtime for dogs, many who were very high energy, and helped with playing and socializing the cats and kittens. I know your pets mean the world to you and I am here to help keep them happy and healthy in any way I can! I am currently working from home and have a flexible work schedule so that I can fit in time to look after your furry friends! I am very used to animals of all different energy levels and will take the time to meet their needs. If they need a long walk to get their energy out or just someone to sit with them for some attention.

About: Early 40’s year old sitter/walker with car. You could say I have 40+ years of experience. My family had a German Shepherd from before I was born and I was very close to her. There has been a stream of pets in my family. Including so so so many cats in NYC. Even going so far as to “rescue” a half feral one. Currently, I share ownership of a dog. As a small business owner of over 10 years, I am able to have a flexible schedule and spend more time hanging out with your pet(s). That said, I have a lot of experience managing other people, and I do have high expectations for clear communication from clients. I have never had a complaint from clients that already have human children. I am very clear about the kind of care I offer. For example, I clearly state I can do 4-8 hrs for letting out. That does not mean that when I get to the sit, you tell me you expect every hour. I also do not cancel other bookings so that you can be the sole client. I have been through that, obliged, and the client was still dissatisfied. I am running a business and the new owner of this app runs on harsh algorithms that hide you in search. Let’s try to be better and more human, than conforming to private equity and their bottom line. For the fur babies, I can follow their diet and pet or play or brush their hair. As long as you give me a list or schedule, I'll do my best to provide it. I have extensive experience with pets at all stages of life. (As well as other kinds of pets which I am open to caring for.) I understand the care required for a wide variety of needs and can do my best to provide reinforcement on current training, but I am not going to be attuned right off the jump to the nuances noticed by your trainer or you... I can reinforce sit, lay down, paw, stay, heel, rollover, or anything else. I can administer medicine. I am not formally trained in pet CPR, but I am trained in human CPR and have looked at videos for pet CPR. When I was younger I worked as a lifeguard, and have a remarkable natural ability to stay calm and act fast in crisis situations. This comes in handy, for example: when protecting my maltipoo from other dogs, managing territorial behavior, or keeping one dog out of another dog’s bowl. My schedule is flexible and I have a car. I have a small business and partial responsibility of my dog, so I do need to be able to run errands, go to meetings, or check in at home to keep that part of my life running. For extended care, and distance further than 5 miles, I prefer be given the option to stay over at clients for the sake of gas costs, time, and energy. First meeting and approach are important to setting a precedent, I first see if the pet will approach me. I like to offer my hand palm down for them to smell. Sometimes it takes a few times smelling the hand before they feel comfortable letting me pet them. In my opinion it’s important not to mess up first impressions with the pet. Spending time together builds familiarity bonds, being attentive builds trust. It’s important to build rapport.

Megan is an amazing sitter who took great care of my special needs dog when I had to leave town for work. She gave him his insulin without any issues and gave me great notes on how the visit went. She went above and beyond in every visit and she is at the top of my list for future needs. She really kept my heart at ease when I couldn’t be home and made me feel good about leaving him in her care.

I cannot say enough of how much I appreciate Emma!!!! I am usually a little nervous when I leave my cat with someone new. This is my first time booking her and it definitely will not be my last. She went above and beyond to make sure Bug (my cat) was comfortable, loved, and well taken care of. She went out of her way to help with things and to ensure that Bug is safe at home. Do NOT hesitate to book her. She will take really good care of your pets ❤️❤️

Carly was so reliable and responsive when we asked her to pop in on our cat Olive over Fourth of July weekend. She let Olive in/out at the designated times and always made sure she had fresh food and water (during a heatwave). Olive warmed right up to her and allowed her to give her some butt pats. Highly recommend Carly for any cat sitting needs, will definitely use her in the future!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Norwood stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Norwood. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
