About: I have been volunteering with animal rescues since I was in high school along with dogwalking in my hometown. I have spent the past three years in college volunteering with the local animal shelter walking their dogs to relieve them of time in the shelter. On these walks I take the time to work on basic skills and socialization. I am completing my MBA this summer, and would love to help you out with any of your pet care needs! I am finishing up my MBA at Bryant University leaving me with an open availability days outside of my classes which are Mondays and Wednesdays. I have previously handled multiple different dogs in different situations. I always aim to make the animal feel the most comfortable in every situation. I plan to care for your pets on your own terms whether that be in your own backyard or on walks near your house.

About: I’ve had pets of all kind my whole life, including dogs, cats, horses, and fish. I currently have just 2 cats, but I’ve owned dogs before and I have lots of pet sitting and walking experience as a caregiver. Your pet will be loved and safe with me! Prior to graduating this past December, I worked part time as a pet caregiver and would walk dogs in the mornings or on work from home days. Now that I’ve graduated and am waiting for my new job to start in April, I’m able to take a little time off and be a pet caregiver full time. I have very flexible hours and my only time conflicts are if I have another caretaker booking already. I have lots of experience and am very patient with pets of all kind. I’ve found that having a calm demeanor and soft touch goes a long way to helping me build trust with the pets I care for. But im also physically strong enough to keep larger pets like big dogs from barreling through the door or pulling out of my hands when leashed. I am very communicative with the pet parent and will message with any concerns or questions, always listening to what the pet parent requests for their fur babies. Your pet’s needs will always be heard and met! My past 2 years of experience has mostly been walking and drop-in visits, but I’m open to pet sitting and potentially boarding under the right circumstances. I unfortunately don’t have a yard but I am active and would love to take your dog with me to parks and trails for lots of outings.

About: I'm a stay at home wife, so I have plenty of time throughout the day to check on your four legged friend. I love all pets, and have never met one I didn't like. I've been taking care of pets my whole life. I had a business as a pre-teen, and I always get asked by my friends and family to watch their pets. I'm a stay at home wife. I had a car accident 2 years ago, and I broke my back. I did a good amount of physical therapy, and my healing has gone well, but I didn't want to return to my job in a bakery. My husband decided to support us, which leaves me free to pursue passions, like pet care and amusemant. I treat my pets like people. I talk to them and listen to them. I work very hard to earn their trust. Cats, I get low to their level and let them look in my eyes, scent my hands. Dogs, I allow to smell me and greet me.

About: Growing up, my family owned an amazing, but traumatized dog that tended to be aggressive towards strangers. Now, I help care for two very timid, anxious dogs so I understand and can manage dogs of all sorts of temperaments. Old dogs will always have a special place in my heart. I am currently working around 15 hours a week serving, so my schedule is very open! I have no trouble traveling daily and I love to be actve regardless of rain, sleet, snow, or heat! First of all, I prioritize giving all dogs and cats the attention they need, nothing breaks my heart like a lonely pet. Depending on the household, I will manage toy organization and uphold routines in place while you are on vacation or at worn. From medication to routine freeding and walking, I am an experienced pooper scooper willing to get the job done!

About: Please be aware, my services are focused on vacation and occasional care, including drop-in visits for feeding, potty breaks, and check-ins, as well as short-term boarding in my home while you’re away. This allows me to give each pet my full attention and provide reliable, consistent care during the times you need it most. Experience: I’ve been passionate about animals for as long as I can remember — from rescuing wildlife as a kid to building a career around their care. I hold an associate’s degree in Animal Science and previously earned a certificate in Veterinary Medicine. I worked as a veterinary technician for 3 years in an animal hospital, where I gained hands-on experience with animals of all sizes, temperaments, and medical needs. I’m comfortable administering medications, recognizing signs of illness, and providing calm, attentive care — even in high-stress situations. After my time in the clinic, I spent 2 years in the corporate pet food industry, deepening my knowledge of pet nutrition and overall wellness. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I treat every animal like my own — with patience, love, and attention to their individual needs. I work from home, which allows me to have a very flexible schedule throughout the day. I’m available for early morning visits, midday walks or check-ins during lunch breaks, and evening care. This flexibility makes it easy for me to provide consistent attention and timely care, whether your pet needs a quick drop-in, a walk to break up their day, or extra love while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. With my background as a former veterinary technician, I’m experienced in handling pets of all temperaments and can quickly recognize signs of stress or illness. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, medications, and any special instructions. As a dog owner myself, I provide a calm, safe, and loving environment and treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether in my home or yours, you can expect reliable care, clear communication, and plenty of updates for peace of mind.

Gena is amazing. She has been extremely reliable both times I was in need of drop-ins for my two cats. The most recent being extremely short notice, I was able to count on her and she was flexible. As I plan future trips, she will always be my first contact because I know Larry & Louis are cared for well. For anyone looking to book requests, scroll no longer. Gena has set the bar pretty high. Thankful to have found her on here!

About: I’m an experienced rescue pet owner who’s fostered both cats and dogs, including my own behaviorally challenged dog. I grew up caring for a senior dog with medical needs, so I understand the importance of patience, attention to detail, and compassion. Through my rescue work, I’ve provided both cat and dog sitting and am excited to offer that same loving care to more pets and families! Pet care best fits into my daily schedule during lunch breaks and anytime after 4 PM! I can be flexible as well depending on the time slots needed and my class schedule. Safety is always my main priority. Through my experience working with flight-risk fosters and animals with a variety of behavioral and medical needs, I’ve learned how to create secure environments for every pet in my care. I’m attentive to details, careful with routines, and always mindful of each animal’s comfort and safety

About: Hi, I'm Nikki! I'm new to Rover but I've helped care for animals for many years. I've worked for a dog walking company and it was one of the best jobs I've had in my life. Being out, exploring, and getting exercise was fun for both me and the dogs on my route. I'd give reports and take photos of all our outings. From there, I worked at an animal hospital assisting vet techs and doctors by walking, feeding and holding the animals for their treatments. I learned so much, especially about having patience and compassion for animals that are sick and scared. I gained a lot of knowledge about safe animal handling and body language. I've also completed Fear Free training! I have adopted a pretty quirky Beagle/Boston terrier mix about 10 yrs ago and he's kept me busy ever since. He's very smart and active. A lot of understanding and keeping him busy have helped him come such a long way. It's been so rewarding to see! Are you looking to get your pets out and about while you're at work? I'm available weekdays from the morning until early evening. I'm available for a Saturday morning stroll as well! I would care for your pet as you request. Whether it be a neighborhood walk, a fenced in yard, or a path nearby, I look forward to doing what your pet enjoys! I always have safety in mind, so your pet would always be under supervision and leashed in my care.

Heather is a wonderful sitter! I have an anxious dog, and I was nervous about allowing an unfamiliar person to care for her while I was on vacation. I purposely chose Heather due to her experience with anxious dogs, and I am so glad that I did! Heather scheduled a meet and greet prior to caring for her so my dog could become acclimated to her. Due to Heather's calming presence and careful efforts, Tootsie was very calm upon meeting Heather. While I was away, Heather provided thorough information about my dog, which was extremely reassuring. I felt confident that Tootsie was being cared for by someone who I trust. Heather went above and beyond to make Tootsie as comfortable as possible. I will definitely reach out to Heather again should I need someone to care for her.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Smithfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
