About: I adore animals and like to treat everyone as if it’s my own. I have been pet sitting throughout college and post grad for about 5 years now. I am incredibly reliable and will treat your space as if it’s my own. I work a fully remote job. I am incredibly flexible and able to care to all your pets needs. Welcome all jobs short or long. I like to keep your furry friend on there set schedule and routines. Everyone operates differently like to meet with the family and see what is best for your animal while you’re away. Love sending lots of updates and pictures throughout the process.

About: Hi there! My name is Kat, and I have a deep, well-rounded background in animal care. With 3+ years of hands-on experience in animal rescue and 10 years of personal pet sitting (and 22+ years of animal-loving!), I bring calm expertise, safety awareness, and specialized care that goes far beyond standard pet sitting. I'm also a certified Wilderness First Responder and American Red Cross CPR Certified. Rescue Training: My time in animal rescue taught me to read subtle animal body language, prevent stressful situations, and keep pets safe and relaxed in any environment, while also serving as a friend and comfort to animals in need! Medication Administration: I have experience giving oral, topical, and routine medications to a wide variety of animals, ranging from kittens to senior dogs. Experience in All Sizes & Energy Levels: From toy breeds to giant dogs, I understand how to handle different temperaments and physical needs. I love taking high-energy dogs on extensive, engaging walks (especially on our local hiking trails!) to keep them physically exercised and mentally happy. I am a full-time student supporting myself while working toward my paralegal certification. I take my courses online from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Monday-Thursday), so I am available for in-house sitting, drop-in visits, or whatever your pet may need! Since I offer only In-House Sitting, Drop-In Visits, and walk services, your pets will receive 1-on-1 attention without leaving the comfort of their familiar surroundings. My priority is maintaining their daily routine while keeping your home secure and your pets safe. With every visit, I will provide consistent photo updates and detailed reports after each drop-in/day! Flexible, personalized pet care (drop-ins & sitting): Regardless of whether it's a quick 30-minute stop-in for food, meds, play, and potty breaks, or an overnight stay, I adapt entirely to your pet’s individual needs and routine. I strive to keep homes tidy, secure, and maintained, reducing travel stress for everyone and helping pets feel their best! Outdoor Safety: During walks and outdoor breaks, safety is paramount- I practice attentive situational awareness and strive to maintain large distances from any off-leash dogs, as well as ensuring your pet is safely and securely harnessed/leashed. Overall Safety Precautions: From my rescue experience, animals are curious!- In this, I ensure all doors, gates, and deadbolts are latched securely during every entry and exit, double-check that food and medications are sealed out of reach, as well as keeping a watchful eye out for subtle changes in pet health or behavior. Home Maintenance/Overall Peace of Mind: During house sits and drop-ins, I am happy to bring in mail, water plants, keep your living spaces spotless, or help with any other tasks.

Anna has given care to our beloved dog on 2 occasions with 5 walks. She has provided him with exceptional attention and love. Our dog is 13+ years old and we are always sensitive about his health- we don't have to worry about that with Anna at his side. Is there any greater piece of mind than that?

Melissa is extremely good with all animals and I would highly recommend her! Years ago when one of my german shepherds had a behavior issue we asked Melissa to work with us and the trainer to help correct the problem. Melissa understood what the trainer was doing and helped us to learn how to work with our dog. She has also fed, walked, and administered meds to our dogs while we were on vacation. Melissa is very reliable, knowledgeable about animals and extremely good with them. I trust her with all my animals care!

About: For the past three years, I’ve volunteered at a local animal shelter with my mother. I completed my senior internship there and now volunteer on my own. In my time at the shelter, I’ve gained lots of dog walking experience, especially with young puppies. I’m familiar with shelter training techniques and with cleaning and sanitation. I have two dogs of my own, one of which is a difficult walker. I know how most types of dog harnesses work. My internship involved spending time in the cat room, during which time I worked with cats of all temperaments. I don’t currently work in an official capacity and don’t play any sports, so I’m free pretty much all the time aside from my volunteer work. I’m going to college in September, so I’m not available for long term arrangements that go past summer. I’m used to animals with a wide range of play styles. I have a dog that loves to play fetch and go for swims, and I live near a large trail system, so I’m most familiar with those forms of enrichment. I have a minivan and can drive dogs to dog parks, trails, and fields.

We are so grateful to have found Joseph. Our mini poodle is quite skittish around people other than family, and Joseph showed great patience and understanding with her, allowing her to get comfortable on her own timeline. Now when he arrives, our dog is thrilled to see him and comes home from walks happy and relaxed. We also appreciate Joseph's dependability and reliability; we trust him completely.

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life. I currently have two wonderful dogs of my own, so I understand how much trust it takes to leave a beloved pet in someone else’s care. I provide patient, loving, and attentive care for every dog as if they were part of my own family. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, quiet companionship, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I will make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I pay close attention to each dog’s personality, energy level, feeding schedule, and any special instructions. I believe communication is very important, so I’ll send regular updates and photos to give you peace of mind. I strive to keep their normal routine as consistent as possible and am happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can feel connected while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding, medications, exercise, and routines. About: I have had a dog since I was in the 5th grade and have helped raise it since. Within the past 2 years, I took her to college with me for a month each year and had the best time with her. My former college roommate also got a puppy sophomore year (I lived with her sophomore-senior year), so I have helped raise him, and also watch/take care of him when my roommate is busy. My neighbors have also relied on me to take care of their dog when they are away. I really want to get more professional experience in handling dogs more so I'm able to work at dog and animal shelters/places! Currently, I’m completely available in the summer! I begin graduate school in September, but have no time constraints in the meanwhile, asides from when I’m away. In my home, I treat my pet like she's my child/baby and make sure that all of her needs are met always. I will do the same for my client's pets, as well as making sure the home is treated with the utmost respect. I truly love animals and would be happy to care for any dog.

Today was Lanie’s first time walking our pups. After our initial meet and greet yesterday, I felt very comfortable and confident that she provides thoughtful care of the pets she cares for. She accommodated a 30 minute shift in plans, and spent a good amount of time with the boys. They were both very calm and content when I got home. Thank you!

About: I grew up in a dog-centric household, however I have taken care of my own dogs for the past 19 years. For the last 8 years, I've had the opportunity to foster dogs through different organizations, as well. It has been an extremely rewarding and educational experience with regards to learning about a multitude of different dogs and how best to deal with different dog personalities and what their mannerisms indicate. The foster dogs that I cared for ranged from puppies to senior dogs and included numerous different breeds. I've had dogs that were incredibly easy, as well as ones that were particularly difficult and high maintenance. These experiences have made me open to taking care of all types of dogs; I'm happy to help administer medicine, eye drops, insulin injections, etc. I've experienced it all! My schedule is flexible because I'm currently based from my home. This basically means that I'm available to provide care in whatever capacity needed beginning from late morning until the evening and any day Whenever a dog is my responsibility I make a point of giving them the care and attention that they require. I'm available to walk any pup beginning from late morning into the evening, including multiple times a day. I currently live in a house with 3 acres and a huge back yard with forest surrounding it, so it is not fenced. However, I'm more than happy to walk your dog if there's a fear that they will run into the forest. I'm also open to dog-sitting for anyone going on vacation! Our house is set up to accommodate dogs visiting and staying due to my previous fostering, which is how I came to have my two current dogs. Also, I'm a firm believer in positive reinforcement to teach dogs acceptable behavior and manners, so no punishments that may traumatize or hurt the pup!

About: I am a lover of all animals big and small. I was blessed to own many species of pets while growing up. They taught me about responsibility, and gave me respect and appreciation for all living creatures. I have experience with many species: popular pets like dogs, cats, rabbits, and exotic pets such as ferrets, reptiles and fish. I am proud to say I am a NY state licensed Veterinary Technician with an animal medical background. I’m currently working full time but I like to make time to keep busy during the week with walks, boardings and sittings. I am very flexible. I have the ability to work from home and my husband is home during the day for additional care, when needed. I live in an apartment with a beautiful grassy yard for walking and a nice dog park onsite. I have a spare room for the dog to stay, if needed. I can also accommodate a crate trained dog. I can accommodate almost anything. Please let me know your requests and I will try my best to make it happen.

We were attending my daughter’s wedding and we found a pet friendly hotel, but Cooper being a nervous Golden Retreiver whined and barked a lot. Our vet had mentioned the Rover app as a a good source. I contacted Emma L at 9 am on the day of my daughter’s wedding . She answered in 10 mins and we worked out a schedule in less than 30 mins. Cooper got to stay home where he was much less stressed and more comfortable. Emma saved the day for us on incredibly short notice, she even sent pics and updated us after each walk. We were able to feel comfortable and fully enjoy our daughter’s wedding. I can’t recommend her highly enough Thanks again Emma

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
