“Dew is the best of the best! From our first meet & greet to everything in between, Dew was responsive, flexible, and loved our pup as if he was her own. Our Bucky is quite the energetic pup and she went above and beyond to assure he was taken care of in just the right way. We can’t thank her more and will be booking with her again soon.”

“We love, love, love Lily and her whole family, including Speedy. Our dog Flynn is so happy they’re running and playing and feeling like he’s at his home away from home. We can’t recommend Lily enough!”

“I was very pleased with the care my dog received from Rachel. She sent multiple pictures & videos daily. He was well cared for & had a wonderful time as per the photos! He was taken on long hikes daily. I would feel very comfortable having Rachel watch him again and highly recommend her.”

“Ryan EXCEEDED my expectations! He has an intuitive way with dogs. He is very knowledgable about dogs & dog behavior. Ryan is the real deal-- a true animal lover & kind, decent human being. He communicated well with pics and updates during my dog's visit. During our initial meeting I felt an instant rapport he had with my dog that put me at ease. His home is VERY dog-centric! The visiting dogs are not confined and are free to mingle and find their own place to relax. There are ample dog beds, couches, human beds and floor space for lounging and sleeping. I especially appreciate that Ryan limits the number of dogs he boards at one time to a very small group, & makes sure they vibe well together beforehand. The living space Ryan and his boarders occupy is all on one level, which is great for my dog with arthritis. There is a wooded trail for walks adjoining the yard, and a guest bedroom if a dog needs some quiet alone time. I would HIGHLY recommend Ryan and I plan to use him again!”

“Our dog had a great time with Farva! She has a wonderful fenced backyard so our dog could play with other dogs. She sent us updates throughout the stay, and was very kind and responsive.”

“Tinaclem too great care of Mika! She was great with communication and took her on plenty of walks and have gave her plenty of love and care and had a a wonderful home to keep her in! Tinaclem was super nice and I would definitely would suggest her and use her again!”

“This is my second time having my fur baby with Sue. It was a much longer visit this time (a week) amd Sue remained her kind communicative self. Would recommend in a heartbeat. She goes above and beyond. Thank you! 💕”

“Rich was flat out amazing with our Pitbull mix, Salem. He welcomed her perfectly into a group of canine buddies and Rich’s command over all of the dogs in his care was evident. Rich provided us with daily videos and pics of our girl - playing, chasing, and being goofy! I couldn’t think of another person I’d rather have watching Salem. Fantastic experience!”

“Fabulous experience, my 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs LOVED< LOVED< LOVED Kyle! They didn't really want to leave, either! Kyle is the quintessential laid back dog lover....will definitely hire him again!”

“Kathryn is probably the best Rover sitter we’ve had (and we’ve used some lovely sitters). Our dogs are anxious when they’re left, and Kathryn really helped them feel at ease - her fenced yard was perfect and they just seemed to trust her. I’d highly recommend booking your pet’s stay with her!”

“Wow, Valerie was amazing. I knew my dogs and cat were in good care. She sent us photos throughout the ENTIRE stay and it made me feel so comfortable. My family was worried about leaving our pets with a 'stranger' but Valerie didnt feel like that to us. Her property was GORGEOUS! and had so much room for the puppies to run around and play. They were all tired out and we could tell by the photos she sent us of our dogs sleeping. My cat was also welcomed and had a nice time too. 11/10”
“Katharine was great!! Our 2 girls were so happy with her. We received regular updates on how we were doing and what they were up to. Definitely looking forward to our next booking with her.”

“Erika is absolutely amazing with our dog, Gotham! She is incredibly responsive, reliable, and truly caring. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing Gotham is in such loving and attentive hands. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs she watches, and it shows in everything she does. We feel so lucky to have found her and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog sitter!”

“Robin took great care of our dog. She sent updates throughout the day and when we picked him up, I could tell he was very relaxed and happy and enjoyed his time with her and her family. We will definitely use her again for our dog!”

“Rusa and her family were so wonderful to our doggy. Our dog has had anxiety with previous boarders but she became so comfortable with Rusa and her family very quickly. Rusa also gave daily updates with photos, even cleaned our doggy’s eyes, and put booties on her paws when it snowed to protect her from the salt in streets. She was very communicative and trustworthy. Highly recommend.”

“Kylo had a great stay with Anner! He was really accommodating of some hectic scheduling for the meet and greet, and we were able to see that Kylo would be comfortable for his stay ahead of time. Anner sent videos and some photos while we were away of Ky enjoying the yard and playing with other pups. When we picked Kylo up, he seemed like he had a great time! Thanks, Anner, for taking great care of our slightly older, very goofy boy!”

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
