“Dew is a great communicator and a pleasure to work with. She clearly cares about the dogs in her care. Juno had a great time and we have already booked another overnight.”

“Lily was warm and caring. Leo was comfortable and played with his friends. She gave the food exactly as instructed. Shared endearing pictures with us. Overall it was a good experience for all of us. Thanks Lily.”

“Ryan EXCEEDED my expectations! He has an intuitive way with dogs. He is very knowledgable about dogs & dog behavior. Ryan is the real deal-- a true animal lover & kind, decent human being. He communicated well with pics and updates during my dog's visit. During our initial meeting I felt an instant rapport he had with my dog that put me at ease. His home is VERY dog-centric! The visiting dogs are not confined and are free to mingle and find their own place to relax. There are ample dog beds, couches, human beds and floor space for lounging and sleeping. I especially appreciate that Ryan limits the number of dogs he boards at one time to a very small group, & makes sure they vibe well together beforehand. The living space Ryan and his boarders occupy is all on one level, which is great for my dog with arthritis. There is a wooded trail for walks adjoining the yard, and a guest bedroom if a dog needs some quiet alone time. I would HIGHLY recommend Ryan and I plan to use him again!”

“Anner was very accommodating. The dogs were very happy with him. We did a trial run for an overnight stay to see how they managed. They were happy dogs. When I dropped them off for their stay they were both excited. Thank you Anner, you have two fans. I will definitely use your services again.”

“My dog Blue stayed with Rachel for almost 10 days and I was honestly sad for him when he had to return to us. He seemed to be living his best life and I was so happy to see him happy via all the pics she would send daily. Will definitely be asking Rachel to watch blue again and again!”

“Barkley had a great time staying with Andrea ! Barkley enjoyed playing outdoors and with other pups while I traveled . I had great peace of mind knowing that she was well cared for by Andrea ! Sylvia L.”

“Sue was great. Really patient and accommodating. My pup was returned to me happy and healthy. Her husband was also very nice and they both seemed very confident and comfortable with my pup who’s a 48lb pittie. Thank you Sue and Franky. We appreciated your care and attention to our fur baby. Sue also sent regular selfies of the pup and was quick to reply to messages.”

“My golden retrievers had a great time at Radonstina’s house. She was a great communicator and sent lots of pictures. I could tell right away that our dogs were enjoying their stay.”

“Katie had the best, most nurturing and relaxing experience! When I picked Katie up I could tell she felt secure. Katie can have separation anxiety but she was handled perfectly (walks, pets, a nap). I received lots of pictures and texts so I was comfortable too.”

“So happy with the care and attention that Farva provided, particularly since my older lab has mobility issues. We enjoyed the daily pics and videos. Highly recommended.”
“Took the time to make sure my pup was at home and comfortable. He can be a little shy at first but Carrigan made sure he felt safe. Unsurprisingly, he seemed to adjust very quickly.”

“Ellie enjoyed her stay with Kyle! When we dropped her off she pulled her way up to Kyle’s, and didn’t even look back at my wife & I as we were waving goodbye. . Our girl was a happy camper in Kyle’s care, as depicted by her positive energy when we picked her up, (after a 5 night stay). We’ll definitely have Ellie stay again. Thank you Kyle for taking such good care of our precious girl!”

“Laura,Carolina and Enrique were great, they were very informative with pictures and texts. This was my First time leaving stormy with anyone and they made me feel comfortable with there hospitality and vibe… stormy was very happy when I picked her up also. I would recommend and rebook again.”

“Katharine took excellent care of SoBe, paying careful attention to details and communicating multiple times a day with reassuring updates and fantastic photos. We had a wonderful experience!”

“Nandita took great care of my rambunctious, attention seeking golden retriever Alf! She sent update pictures frequently and seemed to genuinely love spending time with Alf. Her dog Ozzy had lots of energy and played so nicely with Alf and I’m sure he’s be happy to stay at their home any time!”

“Karine and her husband took amazing good care of our dog! Our dog adored them and felt right at home. Karine would send me daily updates and pictures. Highly recommend! Thanks so much Karine!”

“Saori was such a great sitter for our pups (1 year old great pyrenees). She took them to the dog park in the morning for a couple of hours, helped continue our invisibile fence training, and sent us so many pics and updates throughout the weekend. I could tell how happy and comfortable our dogs were in her home and under her care. They came home so tired because they had so much fun with her and the other dogs!”

“Kathryn is probably the best Rover sitter we’ve had (and we’ve used some lovely sitters). Our dogs are anxious when they’re left, and Kathryn really helped them feel at ease - her fenced yard was perfect and they just seemed to trust her. I’d highly recommend booking your pet’s stay with her!”

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
