“This is our dog’s 3rd visit with Dew and she is wonderful! So attentive to her quirks and so patient with her plus we get fun photos the whole time! We will be back for sure! Thanks so much Dew for taking such loving care of our girl! 💕”

“Farva is very responsive and has a very calm, caring nature which is perfect for our anxious dog. Jack had lots of playtime with Farva and came home very relaxed. He is looking forward to his next stays”

“Nicole was a FANTASTIC dog sitter/boarder, yet again! We were away for almost two weeks, and she was in touch with us everyday with pictures of our dog as well as updates on what she was up to. It made being away from Ava (our dog) guilt-free as we knew she was having a blast at Nicole's and being so well cared for. We will absolutely be using Nicole again as a dog boarder and would highly recommend her!”

“First time for ur little guy with Rachel. She kept us updated everyday with great pictures and he got his daily walks. He looked happy and when he came home, was perfect!! certainly agree with all other reviews now that we have used Rachel. DEFINITELY will be using again!!”

“Joy was so responsive and caring from the first time she met us and Izzy our dog. we really appreciated her competency and care. I felt very secure leaving Izzy in Joy’s care.”

“Annmarie was amazing ! She kept me updated everyday with pictures and helped my little girl get comfortable quick. She was quick with communication and is very well educated in anything regarding dogs. I will be using her again in the future !”

“Rusa and her family were so wonderful to our doggy. Our dog has had anxiety with previous boarders but she became so comfortable with Rusa and her family very quickly. Rusa also gave daily updates with photos, even cleaned our doggy’s eyes, and put booties on her paws when it snowed to protect her from the salt in streets. She was very communicative and trustworthy. Highly recommend.”

“We are very happy with the care and attention Jessica and Ian gave to our 11 month old puppy. We were continually updated on how things were going which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Many thanks!”

“Rob was an amazing dog-sitter. Not only was our 9 month-old puppy Kona immediately excited to be there, Rob could recognize when he got overwhelmed and needed a break from other dogs or stimulation. He has an instinctual knack with dogs and from the moment we dropped Kona off we had no fears. My only fear when picking our dog up is that he wouldn’t want to leave! We look forward to having Rob watch Kona again.”

“Catherine was wonderful with Josie, she attended to every one of her needs and treated her like the true diva that she is! She gave her her drops, her eye drops three times a day on schedule, sent me pictures and videos. I was hoping Josie would a still wanna come home with me and not stay with Catherine.!!!Sue w.”

About: I grew up with a loved dog and spent countless joyful hours caring for, playing with and training her. In addition to growing up with a dog, I had the pleasure of intermittently watching my neighbors’ dogs for the past four years and each experience has deepened my love for our furry friends. You can trust that your pets will receive abundant love and attention while you’re away. Having navigated my own dog’s seizures, I’m well-equipped to handle any situation and comfortable administering medication if needed. I can clean up after animals in any regard and am comfortable bathing them if necessary. Your pets will be in compassionate and capable hands. Pet care is something I look forward too every day. Each day, I will dedicate specific times for walks, play and feeding, ensuring that your pets’ needs are fully met. While I work a full-time job, I am ready to accommodate my schedule during the week. I’m available for dog walking or dog sitting or cat sitting after 5 PM on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays. On the weekends, I have even more flexibility, allowing for extended playtime and quality moments with your pets. I have no pets at home, creating a calm and comfortable environment for your pets. If it helps them feel more at ease, I can easily section off a room just for your dog or cat. I also have a long leash available, allowing for plenty of fun and exploration in a safe space. My goal is to provide a stress-free atmosphere for your pets. I’m more than happy to come to your home as well, ensuring they remain in a familiar setting that minimizes anxiety.
“Judy took a lot of time before our boarding to ask questions about Dream- what she likes, what she needs to be comfortable, her allergies, etc. that already put me at ease. But when I received daily updates from Judy with descriptions of how my dog was acclimating, how they were getting along, with pictures of their daily adventures, I knew she was in the best possible hands. My dog gets very anxious when we are apart and I am so glad to have finally found a sitter who wants to *genuinely* understand how to best approach my dogs needs. She came back smelling amazing too :)”

“Elizaveta was wonderful with our dog! She is warm, genuinely loves dogs, and was very flexible with scheduling. We especially appreciated the daily photos and videos she sent. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.”

“Anastasiia was the best! Took great care of Mars and even got him out on some hikes. She is very communicative and thoughtful with our guy. Would highly recommend and will definitely book again.”

“Millie seemed to have so much fun at Barbara’s house with Big Lou and the other dog guests. Barbara is kind and clearly loves dogs. We felt confident that Millie was in good hands. She’s been napping all afternoon after her mini-vacation with Barbara.”

“Jadyn was excellent with Max. He was so happy with her. She is awesome and loving with Max. She took pictures and kept us updated. She takes great care of our dog. She is a definitely someone that you can trust with your pets. We will definitely be use her services for the future. I was thrilled with the care she provided for Max.”

“Carrigan was a wonderful sitter for our pup, Shea. We just moved from NYC and I wasn’t sure how Shea would fare in the suburbs but Carrigan and her dogs were so sweet and playful. Shea had a wonderful time and I would definitely recommend her as a sitter for anyone looking.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Salem Center
We were so very fortunate to have found Dew to watch both our dogs in her home when we were away. Dew took excellent care of them, sending us updates and photos all week. We had peace of mind because they were in a regular household- they are spoiled pandemic doggies who have never been boarded or spent more than a day without some family member at home. Thank goodness for the kindness of Dew. We are so grateful.

I cannot say enough about the care that Dew showed to Ollie and me. From our first conversation to our goodbye I knew Ollie would be in the best hands. Dew sent pictures and reassuring messages about my pup. With other guests to play with and the huge outdoor space Dew kept Ollie busy and happy. I should add that this was my first time leaving Ollie and I was quite nervous when thinking about it. Now I can say we both made new friends.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Salem Center home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Salem Center.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Salem Center sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
