Information Dew G. would like to know about your pet

To provide the best care as a pet sitter, it’s important to gather detailed information about each pet. Here is a summary of the type of information I'd like to know: Basic Information Name, age, and breed/species: Helps understand general behavior and care needs. Health history: Any medical conditions, allergies, past injuries, or surgeries. Vaccination status: Ensures they’re up-to-date, especially if they’ll interact with other animals. Daily Routine Feeding schedule and diet: Specific foods, portion sizes, and meal times. Exercise needs: Preferred activities, energy levels, and leash preferences. Sleep habits: Usual sleeping arrangements and nighttime routines. Behavioral Information Temperament: Personality traits, social tendencies, and how they interact with other animals or people. Triggers or fears: Loud noises, certain environments, or objects to avoid. Training level: Commands they know, house-training status, and any habits like chewing or digging. Medical and Emergency Details Medications: Dosages, timing, and methods of administration if needed. Veterinarian contact: Name, location, and phone number for emergencies. Emergency contacts: An alternative person to reach if the owner is unavailable. Owner Preferences Communication: Preferred frequency and type of updates (texts, photos, videos). House rules: Boundaries like furniture access or off-limits areas. Special requests: Any additional instructions for comfort or care. Unique Needs Any quirks or specific comforts (favorite toys, blankets, or routines) that make the pet feel secure. Collecting this information ensures each pet receives personalized, attentive care tailored to their unique needs.

A typical day

A typical day for me as a pet sitter starts early in the morning with feeding the animals and ensuring each one has fresh water and a clean, comfortable space. I spend time observing their behavior to ensure they’re healthy and happy. Next, I take dogs on invigorating walks or allow them to explore and play in my two-acre property, providing exercise tailored to their energy levels. Throughout the day, I engage pets with interactive activities, from playing fetch to providing enrichment toys, and I give plenty of love and attention. I ensure that any specific care instructions are followed, whether it’s administering medication, managing a special diet, or addressing the needs of animals with anxiety or health issues. In the afternoon, I might work on socialization exercises for rescue animals or timid pets, helping them build confidence. Evenings are dedicated to winding down with calming activities like gentle grooming, cuddling, or relaxing in a cozy spot. I always communicate with pet owners, sending updates, photos, and videos to keep them connected to their beloved animals. Every day is a balance of routine and adaptability to ensure each pet feels secure, happy, and loved.

Dew did a great job with our pup, Skye. Dew's setup is great for dogs and we had total confidence from moment one. Dew welcomed Skye and was happy to give her a daily pill along with some special food we prepared. We picked Skye up who was happy and never looking better (apparently being the beneficiary of a vacuum assisted air brush - which we will add to our grooming devices at home)! Thanks Dew - we recommend you without reservation and Skye looks forward to her next stay.

I am very pleased with Dewi's care for Ike and Olive. I like her enthusiasm, and felt comfortable leaving the care of my cats with her.

Dew was amazing with our senior, diabetic lab! We are very cautious with sitters given Molly’s special needs and I’d highly recommend Dew. She was great with our girl and kept us updated on how she was doing!
