About: I've taken care of dogs since I was a child. I owned two Miniature Pinschers growing up and I adopted one Australian Shepherd mix that has special needs as an adult. I trained all of my dogs from the time they were puppies until they passed away as seniors. I also volunteered at the Humane Society of Westchester. I've always enjoyed being around animals since I was young and animals tend to feel the same way about me. Animals who are usually timid around strangers are comfortable around me right away and they seem to trust me right away. I feel like connecting with animals (dogs specifically) is a gift that I have. Being a sitter is a great way for me to use that gift in everyday life. I'm able to adapt to the normal routine of the pets that I'm sitting in order to make the process as smooth as possible. I don't have a lot of room in my studio apartment so I'm only able to watch either 1-2 small dogs or one medium sized dog. Large dogs are too big for my apartment. If I'm at a client's home, I'll change my schedule to meet the needs of the pet. I believe all animals are unique and all have different needs in order to thrive in the environment that they're in. I'm willing to meet those needs by building my schedule around the animals that I'm sitting.

Melissa is extremely good with all animals and I would highly recommend her! Years ago when one of my german shepherds had a behavior issue we asked Melissa to work with us and the trainer to help correct the problem. Melissa understood what the trainer was doing and helped us to learn how to work with our dog. She has also fed, walked, and administered meds to our dogs while we were on vacation. Melissa is very reliable, knowledgeable about animals and extremely good with them. I trust her with all my animals care!

About: I am a professional, certified dog trainer. I’ve worked and trained with puppies as young as 8 weeks old to a sweet gentle 19 year old senior gal. Very familiar with dogs needs at all ages! I literally walked my way through the dog training academy, using Rover to expose myself to any and all dogs as I learned. I love and value every opportunity I get to spend time with dogs ❤️ I am available all Fridays and Sundays The calendar seems to never show my true availability. Please just ask 😁 I am mommy to 2 greyhounds. When I’m not exercising and training with my pups I look for ways to help others fulfill their dogs lives while they are away at work. I am off of work Fridays and Sundays which leaves me very open to helping! If caring for a pup in a clients home I will follow through with any instructions they give me. This will help maintain consistency in the daily life of their fur-baby. I also love the interaction and enrichment I can give a dog to help drain some of they mental and physical energy so they are at their best when the family gets home.

About: Animals are my whole life! I work at an animal shelter and have years of experience caring for animals. I have 2 perfect dogs of my own! Caring for animals is already a big part of my daily life, so fitting pet care into my routine feels very natural. I’m used to structuring my day around animals’ needs and making sure they’re safe, comfortable, exercised, and loved. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize safety, routine, and respect for both the pet and the space. I follow all care instructions closely and try to maintain the pet’s normal schedule. I treat every home with care, keep things clean and organized, and provide regular updates so owners feel confident their pet is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

About: I grew up in a dog-centric household, however I have taken care of my own dogs for the past 19 years. For the last 8 years, I've had the opportunity to foster dogs through different organizations, as well. It has been an extremely rewarding and educational experience with regards to learning about a multitude of different dogs and how best to deal with different dog personalities and what their mannerisms indicate. The foster dogs that I cared for ranged from puppies to senior dogs and included numerous different breeds. I've had dogs that were incredibly easy, as well as ones that were particularly difficult and high maintenance. These experiences have made me open to taking care of all types of dogs; I'm happy to help administer medicine, eye drops, insulin injections, etc. I've experienced it all! My schedule is flexible because I'm currently based from my home. This basically means that I'm available to provide care in whatever capacity needed beginning from late morning until the evening and any day Whenever a dog is my responsibility I make a point of giving them the care and attention that they require. I'm available to walk any pup beginning from late morning into the evening, including multiple times a day. I currently live in a house with 3 acres and a huge back yard with forest surrounding it, so it is not fenced. However, I'm more than happy to walk your dog if there's a fear that they will run into the forest. I'm also open to dog-sitting for anyone going on vacation! Our house is set up to accommodate dogs visiting and staying due to my previous fostering, which is how I came to have my two current dogs. Also, I'm a firm believer in positive reinforcement to teach dogs acceptable behavior and manners, so no punishments that may traumatize or hurt the pup!
