About: My experience with my energetic German Pointer has taught me the ins and outs of training and managing high-energy breeds. This hands-on experience sets me apart, as I bring patience, skill, and a deep understanding of active dogs to every sitting job. I've also developed a gentle, attentive approach to caring for senior dogs. I'm skilled in administering medication, catering to special diets, and providing the extra comfort and support older pups need. As a dedicated student at SUNY Purchase, I've learned to balance my academics with my love for animals. My schedule allows for regular pet care during weekdays with gaps between classes, ensuring I can provide attentive service and companionship to your furry friends. Weekends are my time to shine, offering full availability for any pet care needs. Whether it's a leisurely walk, playtime, or a cozy weekend stay, I'm ready to go the extra mile for your pets! I focus on creating a warm, safe environment for pets at the client's home. I'm attentive to their needs, ensuring they stick to their regular feeding, walking, and playtime schedule. I also prioritize keeping the home tidy and secure while the owners are away.
About: I've taken care of dogs since I was a child. I owned two Miniature Pinschers growing up and I adopted one Australian Shepherd mix that has special needs as an adult. I trained all of my dogs from the time they were puppies until they passed away as seniors. I also volunteered at the Humane Society of Westchester. I've always enjoyed being around animals since I was young and animals tend to feel the same way about me. Animals who are usually timid around strangers are comfortable around me right away and they seem to trust me right away. I feel like connecting with animals (dogs specifically) is a gift that I have. Being a sitter is a great way for me to use that gift in everyday life. I'm able to adapt to the normal routine of the pets that I'm sitting in order to make the process as smooth as possible. I don't have a lot of room in my studio apartment so I'm only able to watch either 1-2 small dogs or one medium sized dog. Large dogs are too big for my apartment. If I'm at a client's home, I'll change my schedule to meet the needs of the pet. I believe all animals are unique and all have different needs in order to thrive in the environment that they're in. I'm willing to meet those needs by building my schedule around the animals that I'm sitting.
“I can’t say enough wonderful things about Jacquelyn! She has gone above and beyond in caring for my elderly dog and cats, providing them with not just the essentials but genuine love and attention. From the very start, she has been incredibly kind, communicative, and dependable, always keeping me updated with messages and pictures that give me peace of mind. Caring for senior pets requires patience and extra effort, and Jacquelyn has shown both in abundance. Whether it’s taking extra time on walks, administering special care, or making sure my cats feel just as loved, she has exceeded all my expectations. It’s clear she truly cares about the well-being of the animals she looks after. I wholeheartedly recommend Jacquelyn.”
