“Walfredo has been tremendous! He is reliable, responsive and our dog loves him. Walfredo keeps us informed of everything and is communicative ahead of time if there are any changes. I highly recommend Walfredo to anyone looking for dog walking and pet sitting services.”

“Carolyn was so easy to communicate with and did a great job walking both of my frenchies. She even made sure that they had water after their walk. I will be reaching out to Carolyn in the near future.”

“Julia picked up our dog from our wedding ceremony and brought her back to our Airbnb! She was fantastic and our dog felt right at ease with her!! She updated us with photos. We would absolutely recommend Julia!!!”

“I can’t say enough wonderful things about Jacquelyn! She has gone above and beyond in caring for my elderly dog and cats, providing them with not just the essentials but genuine love and attention. From the very start, she has been incredibly kind, communicative, and dependable, always keeping me updated with messages and pictures that give me peace of mind. Caring for senior pets requires patience and extra effort, and Jacquelyn has shown both in abundance. Whether it’s taking extra time on walks, administering special care, or making sure my cats feel just as loved, she has exceeded all my expectations. It’s clear she truly cares about the well-being of the animals she looks after. I wholeheartedly recommend Jacquelyn.”

“Candice was so communicative and made me feel at ease before she even arrived at the house. This was my first time using Rover and first time having someone walk Mocha without a previous introduction. It was so nice to know that Mocha was in good hands and Candice went above and beyond in making sure she got a good walk in and had time to pee/poop. I'm so appreciative of Candice and would recommend her to anyone!”

“Finding someone trustworthy to check in on our senior dog, Siena, was important to us, and Lisa has exceeded our expectations. She’s always reliable, keeps us in the loop, and you can tell she genuinely cares about what she does. Siena enjoys her visits and is comfortable with Lisa, which gives us such peace of mind. We feel so fortunate to have found Lisa!”

“Alexandra was responsive, flexible, and quick to respond whenever I reached out. I am so glad I found her on such short notice (less than 24 hours). Will definitely seek her services again.”

“We are so grateful to have found Joseph. Our mini poodle is quite skittish around people other than family, and Joseph showed great patience and understanding with her, allowing her to get comfortable on her own timeline. Now when he arrives, our dog is thrilled to see him and comes home from walks happy and relaxed. We also appreciate Joseph's dependability and reliability; we trust him completely.”

“Steve does a great job with my dog Gus. He came and walked him while I was out of town for a few days. He has very great communication and I felt confident leaving Gus in his care. Highly recommend to others!”

About: I have taken care of animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up with cats, but most of my family had dogs, so I have always been around them. This love for animals also got me into the veterinary field, which I have 6 years experience in. I have years of experience walking, handling, and playing with dogs and now have the experience to give oral medications or injections if needed. I currently don’t have any dogs, but I do have 2 cats. During my day I always make sure I wake up early enough to feed them and clean the litter box. After coming home from work, I feed them dinner and spend some time brushing and playing with them. I then clean the litter box before going to bed and repeat the next day. In my home, I have installed screen doors on the entry doors to prevent my cats from escaping but so they also can see the outside activity. I have socket covers to prevent them from playing in it and make sure to cover all wires so they don’t think they are toys.

As the oldest in a big family of eight, I’ve always been the go to person for care, responsibility, and attention to detail. I’ve also house sat for long term clients who trust me with their high value homes and beloved pets — a responsibility I take very seriously. What sets me apart? I offer compassionate, experienced care in the comfort of your pet’s home. I work full time, but during my open hours I’m fully present and committed to giving your pet the love, structure, and attention they deserve. Although I work full-time, I have flexible hours outside of my job to dedicate to your beloved pets. Your pet’s well-being is my priority, and I'm excited to provide them with the care and attention they deserve. In the client's home, I focus on creating a safe and comfortable environment for your beloved pet. My approach begins with open communication, where I discuss your pet's specific needs and routines. During visits, I ensure your pet's well-being by adhering to their usual feeding, walking, and playtime schedules. I maintain a clean and organized space, keeping food and water bowls fresh and litter boxes clean. Moreover, I provide companionship and love, so your pet never feels lonely or stressed during your absence. Regular updates and photos are also part of my service to keep you informed and reassured that your furry family member is in good hands. Lastly, I adapt to any special requests or medical requirements your pet may have, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout my visits. My goal is to make sure your pet feels as relaxed and content as possible in their own home.
“This was our first time using Rover in several years and since moving back to NYC from another state. We engaged Doris to stop by our apartment to walk our two large dogs in the middle of a weekday when we both had to be out of town and it sounds like everything went great. One of our dogs, Molly, can be very shy and skittish, so we left Doris detailed instructions about how to deal with her. Doris gave us specific feedback about how Molly did with her (quite well, as it turned out), which made us feel more comfortable about the next time we will need to employ someone to help with the dogs.”
“Brandon was wonderful with Poppy, he is calm and gentle with lots of knowledge about dog behavior. Poppy was so happy on their walk and wanted to leave with him when he left. lol I highly recommend him.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
