“Absolutely delighted with James’ calm, reliable and kind care for a kitty who can register as a bit resentful over having been left behind. He has been unphased by Roxanne’s cool reception, and, after three visits, has earned her (and my) high regard and sincere trust. Grateful for James’ resourcefulness and respect for Roxanne’s deceptively independent spirit - she (and I) appreciate that he treats her as a kitty who deserves the very best care. Highly, highly recommend this talented cat-whisperer!”

“Jennifer was incredibly professional, punctual, and respectful throughout the entire experience. She quickly agreed to a meet-and-greet, paid close attention to every detail in my instructions, and kept us updated with plenty of photos and videos every day. Our cat, Simba, absolutely loved her twice-daily visits, and it gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Jennifer was communicative, reliable, and made sure all of our concerns were addressed. I highly recommend her to anyone—especially pet owners who may feel nervous about leaving their pets in someone else's care. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter!”

About: Since I was a young girl I was always the family remember in charge of making sure our pets were fed, entertained, trained and given exercise. Around the age of 10 was my first time watching over our neighbors new puppy as they went on vacation. At the time I was nervous but my energetic energy matched the puppy perfectly. Currently i’m renting an apartment at my college UNH with my cat and a roommate. My neighbors who have pets continuously asked me to watch them because of how much time and energy I put into carrying for them. Sometimes I only watch them for the day when work or school takes over and other for extended periods of time. If this becomes the case I make sure to walk and entertained the pet so that they don’t feel lonely. Cat sitting in house is my most common form of cat sitting. Cats and dogs have very different needs from a sitter that I can provide with my years of experience working and owning my own pets I’m currently on summer break until August so my availability to spend time with your fur babies is very open. Keeping in mind that it is still my break there will be times in which I wish to fully experience my summer :) If there is a fenced in yard or not, I still plan to take pups on daily leash walks to ensure safety of the both of us. Ultimately whatever the client feels most comfortable and confident with I will ensure to use those methods. This can include crate use, specific walk routes, specific animal preferences and more.
“Can I give a 15 Star Review? This was my first time with Madison watching my cat. My cat, who won't even sit on MY lap was in her lap! Clearly a cat-person! But that is not the best part of Madison. We were away for 10 days on a cruise in the middle of a snow storm and very cold weather. Madison noticed it was cold in the house and let me know. As we were trying to trouble shoot, she rebooted my NEST twice and recharged it! Digger was in totally awesome hands! Madison went truly above and beyond, including checking on my cat extra to make sure the heat was still on. Can't tell you how great it was to have her looking after my soft furry friend!”

“Top marks for Cody! She provided drop in visits for my cat while I was away for a few days. She was a great communicator, providing daily updates, and went the extra mile with every visit. Highly recommended!!”

“Our scheduled pet sitter canceled and in desperation, I searched the internet and found Rover. I sent out my request and in minutes James responded. I was instantly relieved. He came over to visit us before leaving for vacation to meet us and our pets. James administered medication and took wonderful care of our 4 cats and dog. We are super grateful for all the help and services James provided us. We will definitely rebook again!!!”

“We felt so at ease having Marion take care of our cat, Norman, when we were out of town! She is an animal lover and took great care of Norman while we were gone. We 100% recommend her to anyone in need of a pet sitter!”

“Julianne was so great and made it easy to leave Clyde at home - she was professional and so patient with him during our meet and greet. Each photo I received of him I could tell he was so happy to see her and was in good hands. Thank you Julianne!”

“Veska took such great care with our 16 year old dachshund. She went above and beyond to walk and feed Sweetpea. We highly recommend the dog care service that Veska provides.”

“Leah has been absolutely amazing taking care of my dog Otis while I recover from surgery. She is easy to communicate with, shows up on time with a smile, and most importantly clearly truly cares about Otis being happy and getting the care he needs. I am incredibly grateful to have found such a wonderful and caring person to help take care of my pet.”

“Justina took great care of my cats while I was gone. She did daily check ins at my house, gave them so much love and attention, and sent me daily photos and updates. I will definitely be booking again for future trips.”

About: I raise my own dog and now have a very talkative cat. I have responsibly taken care of acquaintances’ and friends’ pets for years. Each pet has its own unique personality and I just want to help how I can. I am very flexible at the moment. I am doing full-time online school that doesn’t have a meeting time so I can easily rearrange my day as needed to help. I have more flexibility on weekdays than weekends but can do both. I am great at recognizing what a pet needs while also being firm with boundaries and rules for their safety. I know how to care for not only your pet and home, but will respect both.

About: I am currently a student at UNH, missing my pets back home. Getting outside and walking some pups never fails to brighten my day. Taking care of animals always makes the time away from my best furry friends back home go by much faster while relieving school stress, too! Currently, over the summer I’m super flexible and able to accommodate! Just let me know what you need and I’m sure I’ll be able to provide! I am able to do any day of the week and am very dedicated and knowledgeable about all sorts of animals because my sister is a zoologist and animal psychologist and one of my best friends is a dog groomer; it’s impossible to get away from their fun facts and information, but you won’t hear me complaining about that! I’ve pet sat and walked dogs many times with them and they’ve taught me what to do in any situation that may arise. I will follow provided instructions and send updates/pictures if wanted! I always supply plenty of water for walks and love trying out new trails and walking ones I know— college woods at UNH have great trails for dog walking. I am flexible to any preferences!
“Abigail was incredibly flexible and so thoughtful when it came to our pups. They immediately took to her and although her care was brief we know we'll be bringing her back for future needs.”

“Alyssa is absolutely wonderful. I have a new puppy...and have to work. Alyssa stops in midday to check in on him. She goes above and beyond. Not only does she care for and play with him, but she also takes the time to help reinforce his training. Hank and I think Alyssa is the best!”

“This was our first time using Rover. Sammi was great with our pups, met the time that we required, fed them and ensured they had ample time out doors to stretch their legs and take care of business. Thumbs Up!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
