I will of course follow any safety requirements that you need to keep your pets safe and well loved.
“Grateful to James! He very patiently waited for an appearance from my shy and wary cat, and in the end made a clear connection. Communicative and friendly -- I recommend James!”

“Our scheduled pet sitter canceled and in desperation, I searched the internet and found Rover. I sent out my request and in minutes James responded. I was instantly relieved. He came over to visit us before leaving for vacation to meet us and our pets. James administered medication and took wonderful care of our 4 cats and dog. We are super grateful for all the help and services James provided us. We will definitely rebook again!!!”

“This was my first time leaving my puppy and Jennifer made it so much easier. She asked great questions before her drop-in. Her communication is excellent. Can’t recommend her enough!”

About: Dogs were my first love. I've cared for dogs young and old, adopted and fostered dogs, raised puppies, provided training at all ages, and provided post-op and healthcare for unwell dogs. I have extensive experience loving and supporting dogs through their toughest moments, including separation anxiety, phobias, and illnesses. I've walked with pups from all paws of life - all breeds, ages, energies, and personalities - and loved them all!! All dogs are wonderful, and I will never, ever discriminate by breed. As a full-time dog pamperer, I've got plenty of attention, love, toys, and fluffy blankets to keep your furbaby happy and loved while you are away! I will love your dog exactly as they are - high-energy, low-energy, and everything in between. Whether they want endless walks or endless snuggles, I am excited to make your dog's stay an unforgettable getaway just for them! I know how hard it is to trust someone with your best friend. I'm happy to go above and beyond to make you feel confident that your pet is in good hands - from photos and updates to video check-ins. Your comfort matters to me just as much as your furbaby's. She's super friendly, low-energy, and always eager for a cuddle. I have access to a private dog park, an unfenced yard, and easy access to nearby nature trails, parks, and beaches! I can't wait to meet your furbaby!

About: I have had dogs my entire life. I have taken care of my own dogs as well as friends and neighbors. I have experience with labs, golden retrievers, German shepherds, Rottweilers, and pit bulls mostly but love all dogs. I currently work full time Monday-Friday (this is important to note when booking me for house sitting) and would love to help people with walking their pets/letting them out after work or on the weekends. I can’t have pets in my apartment and greatly miss interacting with dogs! I am very respectful of other people’s homes. I am clean and appreciate instructions/rules on where food, collars/leashes, treats, etc are. I will keep your furry companions company, provide long walks, and scratches of course!
About: Hi! Heya! Hello! Are you looking for someone to care for your pet while your away? Well you've found them! Fun, energetic animal lover who can't wait to meet your pet! Drop-ins and Walking! Volunteer work with B.A.R.K, S.P.C.A, as well as experience working as a kennel assistant at Holiday Barn Pet Resort. Why I love dog sitting? I've always gravitated towards animals; I was that kid who brought home any animal that crossed my path, feeding strays, foresting. Growing up in a home where the pet to human ratio always favored pets, pet sitting is second nature to me. My experience administering medication I've done my fair share of administering medication to all sorts of animals. I am able to administer oral, injections, topical ointments, as well as suppositories. I currently work a dual remote position at NHPBS and have the flexibility to work from home which allows me ample time to provide the attention and care your pet requires. I’ll be an extension of your home and care. The goal is to provide a safe environment where your pet feels loved and has an enjoyable stay until your return.
About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life, and caring for them has always been second nature to me. I grew up with dogs and currently have two Golden Retrievers of my own, which has only deepened my love and understanding of canine behavior. Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on experience with a wide range of breeds including Goldens, Yorkies, Dachshunds, Pit Bulls, Cocker Spaniels, and many others. Whether it’s stopping by for a walk and feeding, administering routines, or house-sitting for several days, I’m comfortable and confident providing attentive, reliable care. My priority is always to ensure that every dog feels safe, happy, and well loved while they’re with me. I work full time so I would be able to care for pets and walk them after 5:30pm and on the weekends at any time. I live in an apartment so I would walk the dogs and bring them to the park, I would also be able to take care of pets at clients homes.
“Tati was amazing as she helped us out in a pinch using the drop in services for our dog. She was responsive, prompt with her visits, and sent plenty of photos, despite knowing I was going to be out of cell service for this visit. 10/10 would recommend her and rebook her”

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
