“Rita is a fantastic person to trust with your dog. She clearly cares and loves all of the dogs she watches. She kept me updated throughout the entire stay with pictures and videos. I would recommend Rita to anyone looking for dog sitting needs!”

“I was very happy with Mac's stay with Laurel. I had shared with her that Mac loves going on walks and she took him for two long walks. She shared with me how he was doing over the course of the day. I would use Laurel again without hesitation.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life, and I’ve raised my Labrador from a tiny puppy to the sweet senior she is today. Caring for her through every stage—training, high energy years, and now her slower senior days has given me hands on experience with all kinds of needs and personalities. I’ve also cared for multiple dogs at once and have handled overnight stays with up to six dogs for several days at a time. Whether it’s feeding schedules, medications, walks, playtime, or just keeping everyone calm and happy, I’m comfortable managing a busy, furry household. I am currently a college student with a very flexible schedule. I would love to be able to help people out in my free time, whether that be just letting a dog out or taking them for a walk. I am completely available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays until four. Even outside of these three days I have a lot of flexibility! I care for other people’s animals as if they are my own. I am a huge dog lover and always have enjoyed caring for them and spending time with them. I am more than happy to accommodate to any animals needs and would go out of my way to follow people’s requests for their fur babies!

“Great communication. Sent us plenty if pictures of our puppy! We felt comfortable with her supervision. We also booked last minute and she was very accommodating. Thank you!”

“Adriene was fabulous! My cockapoo seemed very comfortable and at ease. Adriene sent multiple daily updates and photos. She was very flexible. This was my first time using Rover in the area and she made the experience seamless. Will definitely be using her again!”

“Sharon is truly a great caretaker, she took very good care of Niko, provided us with timely updates and pictures. It was only because of Sharon that me and my husband could enjoy our vacation. I have highly recommended Sharon to my friends and neighbours. I am waiting to plan our next trip since this break helps not only us but also Niko to meet and play with new friends at Sharon”s place. Me and my husband are happy to have found her through Rover a great website. Thank you Sharon and Rover.”

“The fact that Courtney is a vet was one of the reasons I reached out to see if she was able to watch Sunny for a weekend while I was out of town due to how anxious she can get. Let me tell you, she did not disappoint. During the meet and greet, she asked about emergency vet info and offered her office as an option for urgent but non-emergency situations since I don’t have a primary emergency vet. She was aware of Sunny’s needs while she was there. Courtney also kept great communication and sent lots of videos and pics during her stay. I would 10/10 recommend her and will definitely be booking services with her again when the time comes!”

“Karen and her husband were the absolute best this was my first time boarding my dogs with anyone . But when I first met them on day 1 I was very comfortable that they were in the best of hands . She updated us and sent pics of the dogs I’m so happy with her care for the dogs for 4 days !!! Kudos to Karen and her husband.”

“Susan is so caring and attentive to my senior dog Dino (almost 18 yo) needs. She takes her times to meet and greet Dino and listen to all his routines and needs. She send me updates during his stay. You can tell when someone is a super dog loving person and Susan is definitely it. She cares for Dino as if he is her own and I truly appreciate it.”

“Jill and Thomas were absolutely amazing with our dog, Cucu! They are such kind and incredible people who genuinely care for their furry guests. They kept us updated with regular pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. They were also very flexible with our drop-off and pick-up times, making everything so convenient. We are definitely boarding Cucu with them again! We’re so grateful for the wonderful care they provided, and we couldn’t recommend them more.”

“My pup loved Joseph. He met so many new friends and seemed so comfortable. I plan to use his services just for day to day daycare so he can get all the playtime he deserves.”

“Kayla was great and was able to accommodate me and my dog on very short notice. She’s incredibly caring and was great with updating me during my boarding time. Will definitely use her services again.”

“Our pup, Hudson stayed with Olivia for a week. She communicated with us throughout Hudson’s stay and sent us lots of pictures of him playing. We could not be happier with her! Will definitely be using her again in the future!!”

About: I had the privilege of caring for my Lab mix, who I adopted from a shelter, for two years. She had ongoing health complications, which taught me patience, compassion, and how to care for a dog with special needs. Even though she’s no longer with me, my love for animals is what inspired me to start caring for other people’s pets. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I currently work part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or simply providing companionship, I enjoy making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I care for every pet with the same love, patience, and attention I would give my own. I follow each owner’s instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, and routines to help pets feel comfortable and safe. I take the time to understand each pet’s personality while providing a clean, caring, and stress-free environment. I also love keeping owners updated so they can feel confident their furry family member is in good hands.
“Colleen was wonderful with Dreamer. This was my first time using a sitter and I was anxious to start. Colleen made me feel very comfortable. During my trip, she kept in contact with pictures. I could see he was having a great time. I would have no hesitation using her over and over. She's very flexible to follow any directions you need. I'll recommend her to everyone.”
“Totiyana is so patient and caring! Our Blu is a big ball of energy, especially around other dogs but she could handle him. Will definitely be using her services again! Thank you!”

“Awesome service! Above and beyond. My rescue is very skittish and warmed up immediately. Even got used to their dog. My other dog had the time of his life getting to play and go explore new areas on his walks. Made my vacation worry free. 10/10 will book again.”

Lindsey is an amazing sitter!! She shows a lot of love to Chico and he loves her back. Chico came back to us clean, well fed and with no issues. Lindsey's children are very fond of him too. And I appreciate the fact that she sends me pictures of him at play with his furry friends every day. That keeps me at peace to know he's having an enjoyable stay.

This was the first time I used to Katherine to board my dog. I was nervous with a new situation but Katherine put me at ease. She has two dogs of her own and knows how to handle them! She asked a lot of good questions about how we do things and what my dogs like and was kind enough to put a warning on her front door not to walk right in because a dog might run out (my dog is a runner so I was nervous). She sent lots of pictures and my dog got way more exercise and outdoor time than he does at home! I highly recommend Katherine for any kind of dog sitting!

Mackenzie is outstanding!!!! She is warm and personable in person and gave Virgo the best of care. From the photos she sent, I saw that Virgo was having an especially good time. Mackenzie stayed in touch with questions and things I should know and sent delightful photos and videos. She has a warm, generous spirit, as well as being very practical and communicative.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in DE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
