“Kendra took great care of our pup Jax. She was attentive to his needs & kept us informed of how he was doing throughout his entire stay, making sure to send lots of photos! She is also very sweet, caring, and responds very quickly. Definitely recommend!”

“Shanisa was so good to Casper during a very strange time for our family! This was a last minute booking in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, as we kept having to plan and replan how long we were going to stay away from our home in North Carolina, and with what family member. We had to extend, then shorten, and it all worked out in the end. Shanisa communicated well through the beginning of Casper's stay while they were figuring each other out, and then sent cute photos and updates throughout his stay. She took him to the dog park to run and socialize, which kept him happy. Casper was well-cared-for and relaxed when we finally came to get him and head home. I will definitely contact Shanisa again whenever we are in Wilmington!”

“This was our first time using Lorraine and Rover. We couldn't have found a better person to watch our senior pooch. From our first meeting, we felt our girl was in a safe healthy environment and Lorraine was a caring, reliable sitter. Over the 2 week stay, Lorraine sent updates and pictures showing a contended, happy pooch. We highly recommend Lorraine. A+”

“Alberta watched our 17.5 year old cockapoo for 2 weeks and took such great care of her. Our dog has some minor health issues and also requires diapers and Alberta had no problem taking care of that. She had great enthusiasm for watching senior dogs when we first met her and we felt like we were leaving our girl in excellent hands. We received updates throughout our trip and she was always timely when responding to our messages. We would definitely reach out to her first if we ever needed someone to watch our dog again. She was excellent and you should consider her when looking for a sitter.”

“Claudia did an amazing dogsitting job with Peter! She frequently communicated with pictures and videos. She kept him busy and entertained. Peter came home well fed and well rested. I will book with her again!”

“Kelli and her husband took great care of my dog, Blizzard, who had a wonderful time playing with her dogs. Kelli was very caring and easy to work with. I highly recommend Kelli, and Blizzard would happily return for another getaway.”

“Dory loves every time that she visits Miss Patti and her best friend Bulah! Patti and Andy are so kind and we wouldn’t think of taking Dory anywhere else. They are like family and we feel so relieved knowing she is in good hands.”

“Andres was terrific with our dog. Gave regular updates and took great care of him. Our dog was very happy and healthy when we picked him up and clearly enjoyed his stay.”

“Candy is flexible and reliable. She took very good care of my dog while we were on vacation. She is patient and communicative. Riley has diabetes and she took extra care to make sure he didn’t spike or crash. She sent pictures and updates. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing she had my furman!”

“Cassandra took great care of our dog over the Christmas holiday! Hazel doesn’t always eat much while she is staying at someone’s house (regardless of who it is), so Cassandra kept us updated when she was or wasn’t eating - and eventually Hazel did settle in to better eating habits! Her concern and attention was really appreciated. Hazel also gets an allergy pill twice a day which Cassandra kept up with too. Thank you for caring for our dog!”

About: I've had dogs for over 25 years and most recently I'm caring for a dog with a seizure disorder. Everything from young energetic puppies to elderly dogs. I have worked with an organization called Missing Pet Partnership (an organization started by a police officer who trained scent detection dogs). I was trained to find lost pets and the psychology of dogs and cats including training in pet first aid and CPR. My previous career was as a special education teacher. I now work full-time from home. I would love to play with and care for your pup! No pet too big or small. I hope to hear from you, thanks. I am currently working full-time from home and I will have plenty of time to play with your for baby I'm available for boarding on weekdays, weekends, nights and even holidays. I work from home and have a very large fenced yard that is fully secure for the smallest dog and 5 and a 1/2 feet tall for larger dogs. My home is set back from the road on a quiet private street for your peace of mind. I have two small friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company. I can crate your dog if needed based on your preference and socialization with my dogs is entirely up to you. My home has separate areas to accommodate a variety of situations including multi pet homes that crate and rotate dogs, dogs with medical needs who need to be in separate areas, etc. For overnight stays I will tailor your dogs experience to ensure it is a home away from home.

“Sherry was so kind and attentive to our dog. She had us do a meet-and-greet, which helped my dog to go to her when we dropped her off. She sent us pictures and videos while we were apart. She walked our dog frequently. We are grateful for her kindness to our dog.”

“Jessica took great care of my girl Cora. She is super sweet and I could tell Cora made herself right at home. Her kitty was also part of the welcoming committee 😂. She was flexible on drop off/pick up times. I would definitely use Jessica’s services again!”

“Yolanda was great with Mars. He gets a little anxious and she allowed time for Mars to become comfortable. She took him out for a run and sent us photo updates.”

“Thank you Samantha and Family for giving out Sammy his own great vacation! Samantha sending us picks of Sammy really put us at ease. You managed all his meds and communicated with us when you had a concern. He was chillin like a bro with Tank his new buddy. Your yard was perfect, complete with a tree full of squirrels! I recommend Samantha as your pets host family, cause our Sammy looked very much at home.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in DE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
