“Andre was great! My pup Sulley had a BLAST staying with him during Thanksgiving. When we went to pick him up he was excited to greet us and wanted us to come back inside with him instead of going for a car ride! Would definitely bring Sulley back to more fun with Andre.”

“All the hype about Dante is true! He’s communicative, accommodating, and really great energy. He asks a lot of questions to ensure my Kado was well taken care of. Dante is someone who truly loves what he does and that makes me happy. I think Kado and I found a permanent sitter until Dante retires us lol”

“Marissa was fantastic with my dog!! She kept me updated with photos and texts about how well they were getting along. Marissa was very accommodating and asked all the right questions about my dog's care when i booked her the first time. I could tell she took great care of my buddy while i was away. Loved the extra touches she did with the paw prints and necktie! I definitely would recommend her! She will see repeat bookings from me for sure!”

“Brian was an amazing host for our dog. He was very communicative throughout the stay and shared many pictures and updates. Our dog was very well cared for and had a lot of fun with the family and other dogs. Will absolutely have our dog stay with Brian again.”

“Our dog seemed very happy at Aaron’s boarding. There was a lot of room for him to play outside in the large fenced in back yard. Daily photos and videos were sent along with communication on how he was doing. They worked with him on some of his behavior issues, which was greatly appreciated.”

“Tabby came through for us when we were in a pinch with finding a place for our two boxers and we are forever thankful.. Our boxers certainly enjoyed their time in her big back yard.”

“My dog LOVES going to Joseph’s house. She knows when we’re nearby and gets so excited in the car. It’s like camp for her. Joseph sends the best updates, photos, and videos and he will love your dog like his own.”

“This was my first time using Rover. Our stay with Adriene was wonderful. Sheldon has only stayed overnight with family or a close friend previously. Adrienne’s home was so inviting and her 2 dogs were so sweet. Sheldon is a picky eater and she sat on the floor with him to help get him to eat. He had a great stay. :)”

“Sharon is truly a great caretaker, she took very good care of Niko, provided us with timely updates and pictures. It was only because of Sharon that me and my husband could enjoy our vacation. I have highly recommended Sharon to my friends and neighbours. I am waiting to plan our next trip since this break helps not only us but also Niko to meet and play with new friends at Sharon”s place. Me and my husband are happy to have found her through Rover a great website. Thank you Sharon and Rover.”

“I have to say this with a warm heart that I absolutely agree with the other reviews. Latoya was professional, and kind. When BJ entered her home, I knew that I didn't have to worry about him. Latoya is amazing. I can't wait to book with her again.”

“I am absolutely thrilled with the exceptional care our dogs received during their stay! Ami & James did a fantastic job looking after them for two weeks, ensuring they were not only well-fed but also exercised and entertained. Communication was seamless, and we appreciated the regular updates, which gave my husband and I a peace of mind while we were away. It's clear that Ami & James genuinely care for the dogs and treat them as part of her family. I highly recommend her services and would definitely book again in the future!”

About: I have had animals all of my life. Love Dogs, big and small, Cats finicky and cuddly. I have taken care of special needs animals and have managed medications as well as shots and measuring blood sugar. Currently I have two rescue Greyhounds and a Jack Russell Terrier, basically 2 couch potatoes and a WonderDog who never stops chasing a stick. “I was very happy with Mac's stay with Laurel. I had shared with her that Mac loves going on walks and she took him for two long walks. She shared with me how he was doing over the course of the day. I would use Laurel again without hesitation.”

“Catherine and her family were so caring to our elderly dog. They really went out of their way to make sure his separation anxiety and old man ways were managed well. Highly recommend them!”
“We absolutely love Geosselyn! She took care of our cat over our Hawaii vacaction for about a week, gave him all his meds without trouble, and gave him his own little room and are and tower to play on. She also had cameras on him which was nice, and took pictures that she sent to us to relive our stress! Couldn’t be any happier honestly”

“Diane was great & I'd recommend her for your dog sitting needs. Cared for a senior dog with medication needs. Lots of walks! Kept us informed on how our dog was doing. A joy to talk to and was very friendly.”

“My Maltipoo stayed with Yvonne for 2 nights and was very well cared for. I'm sure she enjoyed the nice yard. Yvonne was very easy to coordinate with and sent lots of pictures and updates. Her dog was well mannered, and her house was well kept. We will definitely want to use her again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
There are 1,929 sitters on Rover for Pet Boarding in Avondale. About 89% of Avondale sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
