About: I’ve spent years caring for and training dogs, including raising and training four Australian Cattle Dogs—a breed known for its intelligence and high energy. Through that experience, I’ve learned how to read canine body language, reinforce good behaviors, and confidently handle dogs with different personalities and energy levels. I’ve also walked dogs for several of my mom’s clients throughout the Hockessin and Wilmington area. My focus is on providing safe, reliable, and personalized care while treating every dog as if they were my own. I am home full-time, which allows me to provide attentive, personalized care throughout the day. Your dog won’t be left alone for long periods and will receive plenty of potty breaks, exercise, playtime, enrichment, and affection. Being home full-time also allows me to closely monitor each dog’s well-being, maintain their routine, and ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Your dog will be cared for like one of my own in a safe, loving home environment. I have a fully fenced 0.6-acre yard where dogs can safely run, play, and explore under supervision. They’ll also have the companionship of my three friendly, well-socialized dogs if they enjoy being around other dogs. Throughout the day, your pet will receive plenty of exercise, potty breaks, playtime, enrichment, and affection. I follow each dog’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, and any special instructions, so they feel comfortable, happy, and at home while you’re away.
About: I’ve grown up in a home with dogs, and worked briefly in an animal shelter, caring for dogs from newborn puppies to seniors, responsible for their daily care and enrichment. My shifts are short consistent, allowing me to have a concrete schedule to work around to best meet the needs of all dogs and cats. As the seasons change, so do my hours, allowing me more availability for bookings. I have knowledge on animal enrichment and training, and know how to handle different pets with all different temperaments. I know how to crate dogs, walk them, and bond with all sorts of dogs and cats.
“This was my first experience with Rover and Violeta set the bar very high. My cat has a lot of needs and Violeta did a great job meeting those needs and keeping me informed while I was away.”
About: My family has had all types of animals since I was a kid. I’m comfortable with and love all animals. I also started my own pet-sitting business in my neighborhood in middle school and have been picking up jobs here and there since! I’m currently in college but taking online classes so my schedule is very flexible! I also have a part time job but can schedule around your needs. I am very respectful, will clean up after your dogs and make sure they get the attention and exercise they need. I can handle all types of pets.
About: Hi, I’m Beth and I have been sitting professionally since 2012. I also have experience as fostering for a shelter dog. I am a homeschooling parent of two kids ages 7 and 10 (also animal lovers!) so I am home all day and your dog won’t be left alone for long periods of time. I promise to give your dog lots of individual attention! I am comfortable with administering medication or dogs that have special needs, including experience with blind/deaf animals and dogs with paralysis. I’d be happy to complete whatever daily activities your dog is used to such as walks at specific times, grooming, etc. If your dog will need something in particular, just ask! For high energy and adventurous doggos, I absolutely love hiking and running with dogs, so if this is something your dog would enjoy please let me know! I pride myself on being dependable and trustworthy. I’m flexible and here to help - if you and your pet need something, just ask, and we can work out a schedule and pricing that fits your needs. Please feel free to contact me with any questions; I look forward to providing companionship and care for your dog! Why I love dog sitting: I grew up with dogs, cats, and all manner of small animals. I currently have a rescue kitty with special health needs of her own. I have had several dogs in my life; all different and all truly loved. I also fostered a stray dog for ACCT in Philadelphia from January-April 2015. I love caring for and helping animals lead happy lives. I’d love to provide the same kind of loving family experience for your dog while you're away. Meet my pets I share my home with a very elderly but very happy kitty named Lucy. She is getting up there in years, but very used to dogs. She grew up around my dog that I unfortunately lost in 2022 and they were great friends. We also have two gerbils named Snowball and Oatmeal. About our yard We have a good sized fenced backyard, but I would never leave your dog out there by him or herself since it is an unfamiliar area. I would much rather go out with your dog when he/she needs to! My experience administering medication: I am very comfortable administering all sorts of medication, as long as I am provided with the instructions for correct administration. I have experience sitting for dogs with needed medications and special needs/physical limitations, including blind and paralyzed dogs. Basically, I want both you and your dog to feel totally comfortable during his or her stay. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members. I homeschool my kids so I’m home most of the time. We usually wrap up school by lunchtime so that leaves plenty of the day for lots of doggie walks and playtime! I have a large fenced backyard and my furniture is pet friendly. My kids are comfortable around dogs and can either be high energy playmates or quiet and respectful of dogs that might be more shy and low key.

About: I’ve always had a furry friend by my side, since as long as I could remember. I provide reliable, patient, and personalized care to each pet I care for. I love both dogs and cats, no matter breed, size, or personality, I always make sure they’re safe and comfortable. As a responsible pet sitter/walker, I keep owners updated and follow routine in order to keep your pet happy and loved while you’re away:) Pet care fits easily into my routine because I have a flexible weekday schedule. I’m currently a student at Wilmington University, while balancing mutiple side incomes as a 23 year old in today’s world. I’m available throughout the week for walks or drop-in visits, and I can adjust my schedule to meet each pet's needs. I care for every pet like they're my own. I follow their usual routine, make sure they have food, water, exercise, and lots of attention, and I always follow the owner's instructions. My priority is keeping your pets safe, happy, and comfortable.
“Destiny is AMAZING! After having to cancel a horrible dog sitter she immediately stepped up to help. My dog absolutely loves her! She is a 10/10 and will always try to book with her first!”
“Great to meet and excellent with all 3 of my animals! I have 2 senior dogs and a 1 year old cat who is very nervous around new people but he walked right up to her easily. I’m very nervous about leaving my 2 senior dogs with anyone considering one is fully blind, the other has a messed up leg along with other major health concerns but she has gained my trust in caring for my boys while I’m away. Will be hiring again and keeping as their main sitter!”

About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with Border Collies and have also adopted several dogs over the years, so I'm comfortable with everything from high-energy working breeds to laid-back companions. I've also volunteered at several shelters, giving me experience with dogs of different ages, sizes, temperaments, and backgrounds. I work from home (as does my wife) so your pet will be getting consistent, attentive care. To be honest, our dog passed away last fall and we are missing the joy of being dog owners and having dogs around, but we need something a little more flexible for the time being. You are getting two sitters for the price of one and we will care for your dog as if they were our own :) As a former dog parent who has used Rover, my goal is to provide exactly what I was looking for each time I booked a walker/sitter: clear communication, limited hassle, and all of the assurances that you can rest easy and not worry...your doggo is in good hands! I work from home and call my own hours (as does my wife) so as long as we know your dog's routine we will make sure to incorporate it into our own. We have a fenced-in yard and a walking path near our home so walks are never a problem (we love walks). My wife and I both work from home so one of us will always be giving your dog attention/supervision. We have previously owned dogs who were flight risks so we have been conditioned to keep an eye out, keep doors closed, etc. We have a big fenced-in yard and have a little indoor gate/fence that we use in the house if need be to secure a hallway, etc.
“Arrived promptly on schedule and spent quality time with our two dogs. Sent pictures each time. Will certainly use Lisa’s service again and would recommend her for those looking for a compassionate animal caregiver.”

Even tho i have my own pets I have coverage for overnights! I always like to send photos or videos of the pets i’m taking care of so their mom or dad feels more comfortable seeing that their pup is having a great time!
About: I have had three dogs for the past 4 years and I have lots of experience taking care of other people’s dogs. I have most experience with small and medium size dogs. I have extremely flexible hours, and I’m willing to take care of your animal any day of the week! I have three pets of my own and understand the time and care that needs to go into pet sitting. I will care for your pets in your home exactly how you would like me to care for them per your instructions and expectations! :)

About: What sets me apart is my positive energy, flexibility, and genuine love for animals. I’ve grown up with pets my whole life and have years of experience dog walking and pet sitting for friends and families, so caring for animals is second nature to me. I love getting to know each pet’s personality—whether that means keeping up with a playful puppy, sticking to a routine for a more laid-back dog, or giving extra patience and gentle attention to senior pets. I’m comfortable reinforcing basic training, following detailed care instructions, and making sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’m reliable, communicative, and happy to adapt to your pet’s unique needs. Whether it’s long walks, playtime, or just some extra cuddles, I’m always eager to help and treat every pet like my own! Pet care fits easily and consistently into my daily and weekly routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and make it a priority. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits depending on client's needs. Once Summer starts, I will be available more often! I’m able to plan my day around walks, drop-ins, feeding schedules, and playtime to make sure pets get reliable, timely care. I’m also good at adjusting my routine when needed, whether that means last-minute requests or extended care. Because I’ve grown up with pets and have experience pet sitting for friends and family, caring for animals is already a natural part of my life. I enjoy building it into my day and making sure each pet gets consistent attention, exercise, and companionship. Safety, trust, and a calm environment are always my top priorities. In a client’s home, I do my best to maintain your pet’s normal routine so they feel comfortable and secure. I carefully follow all care instructions, including feeding schedules, walks, litter box maintenance, medications if needed, and any specific preferences. I’m very respectful of your home and keep things clean, safe, and just as you left them. I take time to build trust with each pet, paying attention to their body language and personality—whether they’re energetic, shy, or somewhere in between. I make sure they get the right balance of play, exercise, and relaxation, while always supervising for safety. If I’m caring for pets in my own home, I provide a clean, pet-friendly space that’s calm and secure. I keep a close eye on pets, maintain consistent routines, and ensure they feel comfortable and stress-free. I also provide regular updates and photos, so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away.
About: I will show your pets unconditional love as they would show me. I absolutely love pets and want them to all be treated right. Yup i’m currently a junior at the university of DE, I live in a house with 2 other men who love dogs as well. I am able to sit on nights or weekends if needed. I have a fenced yard at school, but back at home we have 2 australian sheppards who are the best of boys, we walk them daily and make sure they’re fed and well rested .

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Newark
Erikah was fantastic with Tigger over two days! She did drop-in visits and walkies. She sent helpful updates and photos after each visit, so I knew he was happy and well taken care of the whole time. She was always punctual, followed all my instructions perfectly, and Tigger seemed comfortable and excited each time she came by. Super reliable and caring — I highly recommend her for drop-ins and walks. We were away the whole day, and when we returned Tigger was happy as ever!

Julia was amazing with my 12 year old fear reactive Australian Sheppard. Lady was a little shy the first day, but warmed up to her the next visit. Belly rubs were given, which usually takes quite a few visits for Lady to allow. Julia has a calming presence that made for an uneventful and enjoyable visit.

Lynn is the absolute best with our two pups! They get so excited to see her and she treats them like they are her own. She is always willing to help when she can, there have been a few times we have booked last minute and she does her best to accommodate. She also has A+ communication! Would 100% recommend her!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Briana, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! From our first interaction, it was clear that she had a genuine love for animals and a deep understanding of dog care. Briana took the time to get to know my dogs' personalities, habits, and specific needs, which put me at ease right away. During the time I was away, she provided regular updates and adorable photos, which reassured me that my pups were in great hands. Thank you Briana

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
