About: My family and I have owned pets since I can remember. I am currently 33 with 3 pets of my own, but have grown up with pets in the home my whole childhood. My family always had dogs and cats in our home, and additionally I owned a bearded dragon, fish, and a tortoise that I helped care for daily. Once I moved to college in 2014, I got my first pet of my own. Her name is Stella and she has been with me for the last 12 years. She has lived with me in Oregon, Texas, and now Reno. Additionally, my wife and I have a silly orange cat named Nemo, and a fun/energetic Frenchie named Comet. While living in Texas we adopted another cat with FeLV who also developed diabetes. I have experience giving insulin injections and taking blood glucose readings. I have met and cared for many of my friend’s pets of all ages and sizes and can responsibly provide all daily care for your furry babies as needed. This includes but is not limited to feeding, walking, playing, transporting, giving oral meds, and subcutaneous injections. I currently work as a teacher and have extended breaks during the fall, winter, and summer. During the school year I will have availability during afternoons and evenings for some care activities, and weekends for more. During breaks, if not traveling, and I will have a lot more flexibility daily. Update 06/08: I am currently on summer break from teaching. My weekday availability has been updated with more available times/ services. I currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my 2 dogs and an indoor cat. The pets have access to the entire unit including furniture during the day and when sleeping. Our spare bedroom can be used for your pet if they are more anxious and want separation from the other animals. My dogs are crated when no one is home to supervise, and the cat has full access to the unit at all times. My pets are all friendly towards other dogs and cats. In the past when sitting for animals, I have them fall into the same routines as my animals for walking, feeding, pottying, and crating, unless specified different by the owner. When doing drop ins and house sitting, I follow all instructions left by the owner.
“It’s been a pleasure having Ryan take my dogs out daily. He is punctual, conscientious and communicative. My dogs took to him right away. If you’re looking for a dependable guy who’s good with dogs, Ryan is the man!”

“Cyndi (and really her entire family) have been awesome with my two little pups. I got them as rescues so they definitely have separation anxiety when I leave the house for long periods. But I can always easily tell when Cyndi has been by, as they are noticeably calmer and happier when I come home. Highly recommended!”

“Aaron is here every day walking my Lab while I can't. He's been extremely dependable and with my current limitations that means a lot. And Lucian can't wait to go walkies.”

“Diane is an exceptional dog walker who always goes above and beyond for my dog, Ziggy. She’s walked him multiple times, and her dedication and care truly stand out. Diane takes extra time to ensure Ziggy relieves himself and does an excellent job tiring him out before bringing him home. It’s clear she genuinely cares about his well-being, and her attention to detail gives me complete peace of mind. I highly recommend Diane to anyone looking for a thoughtful and dependable dog walker!”

“Kathryn has been reliable and trustworthy with walking my 2 doggies. I really have piece of mind knowing the dogs are going to get great care and a great walk while I'm at work!”

“I’m so pleased I connected with Khine. I have two large dogs, one is high energy boy & one that’s less ambitious, as she has a few more years on her. When we met with Khine, both my dogs liked her and were almost immediately comfortable with her. She is reliable, punctual and is confident handling my dogs. (Handling 2 large dogs is not a small task) I also really appreciate the updates and photos she sends me after each visit. I believe Khine genuinely cares about my dogs and I would highly recommend her to anyone.”

About: I’ve taken care of many types of dogs for the last 10 years. I had 2 French mastiffs and 3 French bulldogs but recently lost 2 of them to old age. I am very well versed in caring for senior dogs (my frenchie passed when he was almost 15 and my French mastiff passed when he was 10). I love taking my dogs on walks, camping, river trips when they love to splash around! I currently work full time for Meals on Wheels but am fortunate enough to have a hybrid schedule. I work into the early afternoons. My weekends are generally free to devote time to caring for your pets and your home. I am very trustworthy and clean and will treat your home with the utmost respect.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
