Safety, trust & environment

I am only able to care for your pets at your home, not mine. I will be respectful of your pets and your home. I will try to gain your pets trust, build a relationship with them and not force them into any uncomfortable situations. In the cases of severe weather or extreme heat/cold, I can provide your pet with some exercises or extra play time inside.

Information Katie S. would like to know about your pet

Is your dog friendly with other dogs or people? How is your dog on leash? Are they reactive or do they have any thing that scares them? (cars, dogs, skateboards, fireworks, etc...) What is your pets feeding schedule? How much? Do they usually eat all of their food? Does your pet have any allergies? Can your pet have treats? What is your pets favorite activity?

A typical day

I am happy to feed your pet(s) and administer medications if needed. When I am with your pet I will try and keep up with their normal routine and do what I can to keep them happy. Whether that be playing with their favorite toy, cuddle time, butt scratches, walks or playing brain/sniffing games (like "Find it"). I do have a lot of animal rehab exercises up my sleeve that we can do as well to keep them active, especially if there is crummy weather.

Pet care experience

Hi! I'm Katie, I have worked in the Veterinary field for the last 11 years and have had animals my entire life. I am an Animal Massage & Rehab Therapist/owner of Physio Pet Massage. I recently moved to Reno from Chicago. I have had pets my entire life and I currently have 3 senior pets. Elliott (cat) 18 years old, Scrabble (dog-boxer mix) 14.5 years old and Rufus (dog-Staffordshire mix) 11.5 years old. All of my pets have some medical issues now that they are Seniors, so I am very well versed in giving medications and caring for pets with special needs. I worked as an Animal Rehab Therapist at a Vet office for 2 years, volunteered at several different animal rescues/shelters over the years and worked at a doggy daycare. All of my trainings focused on Positive Reinforcement techniques. -Fear Free Certified Pet Professional -Certified Veterinary Massage & Rehab Therapist -Nationally Certified Canine Massage Therapist -American Red Cross Dog & Cat First Aid Certified. I will care for you pet like they are one of my own and keep you informed of any updates or health concerns. I know I love getting pictures and updates of how my fur babies are doing when I am not with them. So, if you like I can send you pictures of your pet(s) so you see them when you are away.

"Katie is The. Best. All of us dogs love her and she loves us so well. Stop searching for any other Rover care giver!" by Colby & Niko (Pitbulls), Sophia (Lab), Elvis (Poodle mix), Misty & Maggy (Lab mixes), Ava (shepherd/Pitbull mix), and Meadow (Golden Retriever mix). Why do all my dogs adore Katie? She is knowledgeable as a Certified Professional Canine Massage physio therapist who is responsible, caring, loving, calm, and applies her Fear Free Certification with all her canine friends. My dogs are always so happy when they even hear Katie's car coming and they never want Katie to leave. If I had to give Katie a rating from 1-10, Katie would get an 11!

I have known Katie since 2018 and would not hesitate to let her care for my senior cat, Rex! Katie is kind, trustworthy, dependable, and cares deeply for all animals, so I have no doubt in her ability to take excellent care of your pet(s). She gets five out of five stars from me when it comes to pet care!

Katie is a godsend for my pets! She has taken care of my late dog, Dunkin, and my current dog, Maggie, and cat, Lenny. She has always followed my instructions on how to take care of them and goes the extra mile. When Maggie showed signs of an upset stomach, Katie reached out to me to let me know and asked how I’d like her handle it. She was punctual, communicative, and I knew right away I could depend on her. My pets loved her from the start, and they especially love the massages they got from her. She showed so much love and patience for my pets, and I couldn’t ask for anything more.
