“There is no place like Jaclyn’s! It was our first time boarding our puppy. We felt bad leaving him but knew he would enjoy his ‘vacation’ as much as we did ours. Her place is awesome for dogs, well kept and very clean! Our dog has been twice now and we have his third ‘vacation’ booked. We are so happy we found her!”

“Aivy was amazing! I can’t say enough positive things. She took the best care of Herbie to the point I didn’t think he was going to want to come home. She sent tons of pictures and loved on him like he was her own.”

“Our two dogs had such a great time that we were worried they were not going to want to come home with us. I also like the realtime Facebook footage and photos that you can view while you are vacation.”

“Hali did a great job taking care of Bonnie. I’m always nervous leaving my dog with another caregiver. Hali did everything she could put me at ease including sending me multiple pictures a day showing me the Bonnie was doing well. She had a nice big backyard for Bonnie to play in. Her children played very sweetly with Bonnie. I would be happy to let Bonnie stay there again.”

“I'm so pleased when Brijana is available to dog sit for me. Aside from a comfortable home, her huge heart ensures my boy, Buddy, gets lots of love and attention. He's a rescue who is healed by all her consistent positivity and reinforced training. The pictures she sends make my day and I'm grateful Buddy flourishes with her care. Brijana has sat for other dogs of mine and I always get a full report of their behavior and activities, as well as lots of tail wagging and exhaustion when I pick them up. Thanks, Brijana!”

About: I have have owned dogs all my life and take care of neighbors dogs. I was also a part-time supervisor of a dog daycare. I am good at dog training and care. I am available days and nights. I work part time remotely. So my schedule is flexible. I walk my dog 4 times a day. If I am away for prolonged time my neighbor checks in on and walks if needed. I am in a 1st floor condo. There is plenty of outside walking spaces. My neighbors also do Rover dog care and all our neighbors help to check and walk each others dogs if needed. I have a small senior Pomeranian Poodle that is very good with other dogs. I am fine if your furbaby prefers to be on couch. I provide lots of playtime and snuggle time. I worked as a Supervisor with over 30 daycare/overnight dogs of all sizes. I also enjoy dog training
“I appreciate Kristen’s care for my dog, Panda, during a recent trip. I loved the photos she sent and the frequent updates. Panda was happy and relaxed during his stay. I highly recommend Kristen for boarding. Thank you!”

“Brineydi was an absolutely amazing sitter for our twin cavapoos during the Christmas holiday, going above & beyond to make sure we knew they had a great time and were comfortable while we were away. It’s so relieving to know they have such a great place to go when we are away and will definitely be bringing them bank. From the bottom of our hearts, thanks!”

“Melissa had great communication and Georgie came home happy! We coordinate pickup and drop off times and my mother was doing the pickups and a first time rover-er and everything went great! Already booked with Melissa again!”

“Quincy, our 99lb German Shepherd stayed with Michelle for a week while we went on vacation. Quincy is a very big, high energy dog but we immediately felt comfortable leaving him in Michelle's home. We also loved receiving pictures and videos everyday. We will definitely be booking again in the future because we knew Quincy was in a safe, loving home.”

“Eliana took such great care of our 5 month old chihuahua/chiweenie puppy while we were in town visiting the area. Our sweet pup felt safe, secure and cared for at her home and received loads of attention! We received numerous updates and photos that certainly reassured us our pet was happy and well while we were away. Highly recommend!!!”

About: I've been taking care of cats ,dogs ,birds fish ,hamsters, turtles since I can remember I just love all animals. Can't wait to meet yours. Recently started watching animals, walking dogs, house sitting full time. Looking to expand my fur baby clientele. But I have been taking care of my fur babies my whole life. I prefer to come over to the client's home so there's no stress on their animals at all. I'm available to sleep over, or just come over let them out give him some cuddles. Whatever is needed to make the fur baby Happy.
“To say Jeffrey was a terrific sitter seems underwhelming at best. I was hesitant to board my baby while taking a trip so I enlisted the services of Rover. We set up a meet and greet which went well. Jeffrey took such amazing care of our baby. She looked better when we picked her up than when we left her. She was happy to be in such a loving environment. I am so thankful Jeffrey was available to care for our baby. Thank you Jeffrey!!”

About: Hello! My name is Cookie, and I have a genuine love for animals of all kinds. As a pet parent myself to a 9-year-old Yorkie Poo and a 3-month-old kitten, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family members. I have spent much of my life caring for dogs and cats and have experience pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors while they were away on vacation. Through these experiences, I have cared for pets with a variety of personalities, energy levels, and needs. What sets me apart is the time, attention, and affection I can provide. As a newly retired individual, I have a flexible schedule and can devote plenty of one-on-one care to your pets. Whether your pet enjoys playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I am happy to accommodate their routine. My home features a secure fenced yard with plenty of room for dogs to safely explore and play. I strive to create a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment where pets feel loved and cared for while their owners are away. I treat every pet as if they were my own and look forward to giving your fur babies the attention, care, and companionship they deserve. As a newly retired individual, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I am available every day beginning at 7:30 a.m., which gives me plenty of flexibility to accommodate your pet's schedule and needs. Because I am retired, I can provide consistent attention, companionship, exercise, feeding, and potty breaks throughout the day rather than leaving pets alone for long periods. Caring for animals is something I truly enjoy, and I have the time and availability to ensure your fur babies receive the love, attention, and care they deserve while you're away. I provide a safe, loving, and comfortable environment where pets are treated like family. In my home, pets are welcome on the furniture and are free to relax wherever they feel most comfortable. Dogs are taken for walks approximately every two hours and have access to my securely fenced backyard for supervised outdoor play and fresh air throughout the day. I follow each pet owner's feeding schedule and care instructions to ensure their routine stays consistent while they're away. In addition to meeting their basic needs, I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and cuddles. As a newly retired pet lover, I have the time to provide personalized care and companionship, helping your pets feel happy, safe, and right at home. If caring for pets in a client's home, I will follow their established routines and provide the same level of attention, affection, and care to keep pets comfortable in their familiar environment.

“Leanne & Mark are awesome! This was my first experience using Rover. My previous dog sitter got a cat, which my Chloe is not a fan of, so I had to find another option. I found Leanne’s profile and she seemed like the perfect match for my Chloe. She made my vacation enjoyable by texting me pictures and updates. I definitely recommend Leanne and I will be booking with her again for my next trip.”

“Yajaira and her family was so good to my fur baby! She kept me updated with text, pictures, and accommodated my fur baby in every way to make him feel at home. Thank you for giving M’baku a home away from home during the holidays.”

Donna was amazing! We had a family emergency come up and needed a pet sitter last minute and Donna was super responsive and incredibly helpful. She is the sweetest person and loved on my dog while he was with her for a week. She made Ollie feel right at home and he had a fantastic week relaxing at her place. Ollie is starting to get a little bit older, so this quiet and relaxed stay was perfect for him. I would absolutely book with Donna again in the future and highly recommend her!

Felix and Daniel are wonderful! They are so responsive and flexible. We had to extend our dog’s stay by one night (at the last second) and they were happy to accommodate. Our dog, Ollie, also gets a ton of outside play time, love, and cuddles when he is there. They send frequent updates as well. Can’t wait to leave him here again.

Caitlin took amazing care of my Louie! She was super accommodating and kept an eye on his upset tummy for me. She gave updates every day and made me feel very at ease while I was away from him. He normally struggles with me leaving but he loved being there! He even tried to go back with her :) I would definitely try to book her again when I need someone.

Coco had the absolute best experience boarding here! From the moment we dropped him off, we could tell he was in great hands. We received updates and photos that gave us so much peace of mind, and it was clear he was getting lots of attention, playtime, and care. He came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well-loved. We’re so grateful to have found a sitter we trust!

Jen was absolutely amazing with my three babies. From the moment we visited with her I knew they would be in the best of hands. She sent constant updates and photos, reassuring me the entire time that they were doing great. She is just the kindest person and we will definitely be using her services again. Thank you, Jen!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
